@BLPs thaaaaaaank you. Like most things on N64, Mario 64 is always judged with nostalgia glasses or given a pass for being the first of its kind. It has always had a lot of problems.

10/10 means perfect. Perfect is PERFECT. Not perfect with qualifiers and conditions. Super Mario 64 is not perfect. If this game's a 10, then Banjo Kazooie, Mario Kart 64, and Ocarina of Time are 11s and 12s.

Once again, Nintendo is shoehorning players into how they think they SHOULD be playing their game and destroying the concept choice. We can't choose to play Mario Party 10 the way we played Mario Party growing up. Heck, there isn't even online play (in 2015... Let that sink in, 2015). What a waste.

The most successful LP channels on YouTube aren't popular because of the games they're playing, they're popular because of what they have to offer compared to ever other countless LP channel. People don't watch Pewdiepie, Markiplier, TBFP, Game Grumps, etc. because of the game, they do it because they find those people are entertaining and they empathize with whatever their comedy style is. Nintendo trying to take a dime from anyone who does more than just upload gameplay footage is pure garbage.

You're already in 3rd place, Nintendo. How about you try not aggravating a community of creators that actually reaches a video gaming audience, unlike yourselves.

@AshFoxX You're wrong. The 3DS copy goes for more than twice of what the N64 copy goes for on the used market. There's a bajillion copies of the original floating around out there. This is like saying Mario/Duck Hunt is rarer just because it's older.

@TingLz and yet they'll continue to print out copies of Mario Kart 7 and NSMB2 that sell for $30 or less.

Welcome to old news central. Physical copies of this have been going for well over $50 on ebay for quite some time.

Which by the way, is absolutely maddening. Another reason why Nintendo is slowly poisoning my attitude towards them. There's obviously a DEMAND for physical copies of this game. Plus your install base is about to grow with the New 3DS hitting Europe and NA, WITH Majora's Mask. You think there aren't some people who would also like to buy OoT at their local game store too?

Really, this is stupid. Why even bother showing how much sealed copies sold for? The people who paid for those have no intention of ever playing it. And how much the used copy goes for doesn't matter either. If I didn't already own it, I would still rather pay $50 for the original than download it for Wii U. This is like calling people who want the authentic Earthbound cartridge bitter because it's only $10 on Wii U. There's something to be said for owning a physical copy - especially in comparison to a download that isn't even on the original console.

What's cooler, having a copy of Super Mario Bros. in a folder on your Wii U? Or being able to point the original five screw cartridge you have on your shelf?

I preordered Mega Man as soon as I could on Amazon and am ever thankful that I did. I'll never quite understand the Amiibo craze, it's just not for me. I'm getting the only one I ever wanted.

I remain extremely aggravated that the standard model isn't coming here. This wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for Nintendo's outdated policy on region locking (another baffling decision). The only way to get the "New" features (C-stick, ZL, ZR, exclusive games) is by dropping $200 on an oversized model that blows out the graphics and doesn't even come with a charger.

I guess I'll be skipping on a generation of Nintendo handhelds for the first time in my life.

None, because they shafted the U.S. by not bringing the clearly superior standard model.

Calling it basic action play is so bush league. You clearly don't know your action games. Bayonetta is top of its category and that's why each titles has been HIGHLY acclaimed.

And no, MK8 is not much more than it's previous iterations. It's Mario Kart Wii in HD, but minus wonky tilt controls being its primary control style. I've said before it's even watered down, compared to say Double Dash which was far more imaginative. MK8 is essentially the franchise's equivalent of NSMBU. The same old bull but in HD. But hey, doing the same races online over and over are fun, right? So obviously, GOTY.

Finally, questioning The Last of Us. Lol, just stop. That game, the original and its re-release, crush every game you named except for maybe Skyrim, which was arguably the best game of the 7th generation (as was TLOU). The Last of Us was a masterpiece. MK8, Smash, and Mario 3D World are great, but they're certainly not masterpieces.

The aggregate opinion on Bayo 2 shadows Mario Kart 8 hands down. It's really not that close.

MK8 is Wii U's version of Destiny. An incredibly mediocre game that is popular because it's mindlessly simple to play over and over. Like eating potato chips out of a big bag.

@Spectra_Twilight Wrong. The word "favorite" appears no where in title, the article, or poll. It asks for the best, something gamers have a nearly impossible thing deciphering objectively and separating from their favorite. For example, Double Dash is probably the "best" designed of the series but it doesn't change the fact that MK64 is my favorite.

There's obviously no voter control here, so it's pointless to complain about, but unless someone had played the majority of these games - if not all of them - it's hard to take their opinion seriously, because there's no way they could possibly proclaim one (say MK8) as the best, if they hadn't played its predecessors.

@MadAdam81 that is patently false. The most popular feature in multiplayer Mario Kart on SNES was battle. Battle was immensely popular for a long time and peaked in Double Dash.

Doing a rehash of the same old battle mode would have still been better than making a half-baked one that takes place on the normal tracks but with balloons. Yes they could have gone so much further than same old battle mode, but this was a downgrade and nothing more.

No Mario Kart with a half-done, lazy battle mode is the best Mario Kart game. Therefore, MK8 is instantly disqualified.

Why would there ever need to be alternate timelines? With the exception of Gen I and Gen II, there's little to no crossover between the eras. And even brining up the remakes in this is ridiculous. They're REMAKES.

Generally it's accepted that Gen I is chronologically followed by Gen II (they make it apparent). Most believe Gen III happens the same time as Gen I, but in a different part of the world. Gen IV is believed to happen during Gen II, as evidenced by a Gen II gym leader visiting Sinnoh. Gen V and Gen VI happen during undisclosed time periods.

Calling Mega Man Zero just a "spinoff" is unfair. It's one of the best games in the GBA library and in the franchise.
