Not excited about how the controls were described. Can't stand games that have you hold up the Gamepad for extended periods of time. cough Nintendoland cough
Haven't played Mario Kart 8 yet, but I just bought it off eBay.
The best game I've played on Wii U so far is Assassin's Creed IV, no joke. I loved being able to enjoy one of my favorite franchises on a Nintendo console (AC3 doesn't count, as it was a clone of the PS3/360 versions).
So glad I hadn't bought any of these yet after demoing. It'll probably come down from $39.99 too, or at least be apart of occasional sales. Count me in.
Simon's Quest is such an interesting game. At face value, it's a pretty bad game. Without the title "Castlevania" it would be lost in the NES library. Yet oddly enough, it has a unique charm about it despite being the black sheep of the franchise. Something about hearing "Bloody Tears" and "The Monster Dance" while walking around aimlessly in this game makes me happy.
There is no way the seller is getting 100 grand for this. This reeks of bid inflation with no intention to buy. When NWC gold went up up for auction some years back, it's winning price of over 40k ended up being 17.5k.
Still, everyone calling this junk is out of their minds. If I had 30k lying around in a savings account, I'd absolutely try to buy this game. It's the GRAIL.
"In further proof that the words "Mega Man" cause a violent reaction in money that makes it leap out of wallets and hurl itself kamikaze-like into screens."
YES. I'm glad I held off on downloading X1 - even though I own it on like five different platforms already. Seriously, it's the best game EVAR. I was going to get it when X2 came out for North America.
Oh yeah, can that please happen sometime soon? Thanks.
I can't wait for this game to be available in North America. I'm not even a big Zelda fan, but this game is absolutely incredible. Can't wait to play it again.
I'll pass. I'm tempted to get the Lost Levels, but I'll hold off and pay for it when it makes its way to the Wii U eShop. As hard as that game is, I may as well take advantage of save states. Playing the Wii version will just get me really mad.
I buy it. Nintendo's MO when hardware sales struggle is to push titles left and right. Wouldn't be surprised to see SSB in the Spring, MK8 in the Summer/early fall, and another major title in late November.
lmao. No mobile platform will ever top dedicated handheld consoles. Give me a break. People who actually spend a substantial amount of money on video games will continue to buy handheld consoles as long as that's where the quality software is, and that's not changing anytime soon.
Yeah, the guy seems a little ignorant. SM3DW is great (and I've had a lot of fun with in the past few days), but it's not all the Wii U has to offer. There are other very good games. At the end of the day, you could buy a Wii U today and have enough games at your disposal to carry you into next Thanksgiving. You can't say that about the other new consoles, and that should be the Wii U's selling point.
I saw it last night during Raw. I guess it's a good and I get why they did it, but man... It's embarrassing that such a thing is even necessary. If only they'd chosen "Wii 2."
I think the Wii U will finish second, only to the PS4. Sales are ultimately how consumer friendly you are. Sony is in a great set of mind right now. They've created an amazing product and they actually care about the consumer. They're giving the people what they want and doing it at an affordable price.
I wouldn't say the Wii U is completely consumer friendly, but it's not bad. The price is great and there are some nice 1st party titles. But the console isn't as powerful as it could and it hasn't gotten the exclusives as quickly as people would have liked. In general it's missing features and lacks in accessibility.
But the Xbox One and Microsoft... What a mess. Everyone dumped on them this year because the XB1 is the least consumer friendly product I have ever seen. Their primary goal is to bleed you of you money, and they don't care how they do it. The console is the most expensive (partly due to useless Kinect), certain games require you to connect to the Internet (Forza), and they aim to create user specific advertisements. Not to mention all the features you have to PURCHASE by getting Xbox Live. Unless they begin taking a better approach and start looking out for the consumer, they WILL lose this generation. Harshly.
I'll criticize the Wii U when it deserves it, but this has everything to do with the developer and the effort that was put into the Wii U version of the game.
Take AC4 for example. The Wii U version of that game is outstanding, and comparison reviews have it crushing the PS3 and 360 versions (especially 360), but still lagging the PS4. Ubisoft has done good work with the Wii U and have treated it fairly, so it's no surprise that a multi platform title from them on Wii U holds up well.
Not on the Wii U, please (Maybe 3DS). I love the Galaxy games, but it's time for something NEW. N64 had Super Mario 64. GC had Sunshine. Wii had Galaxy. It's time for that next legendary 3D Mario platformer, and I don't think 3D World or a Galaxy 3 would be that.

Re: Feature: Our Hopes and Dreams for E3 2014
Zelda U - what the Wii U needs more than anything
New Metroid made by Retro - what I realistically want, but may not happen
Nintendo and Capcom teaming on a new Mega Man game - what I want more than anything on Earth, but will never, ever happen

SM3DW is a close second. Great game.

Truth.
Re: Review: Hot Wheels: World's Best Driver (Wii U)
Not shocked. There was a pretty good game called Hot Wheels Turbo Racing that was on the N64 and PS1. Check that out. Loved it as a kid.

That's less than $0.25 a track. lol @ complaining about the price.

@TreesenHauser I've had my eye on that pen bag for awhile. Hopefully it will still be there when I get enough coins.

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th December (North America)
@XCWarrior A new Mega Man? Hahahaha, that's funny. You're funny.
As if Capcom has the money, let alone the intention, needed to produce a new Mega Man game. At best it would be another downloadable game.

I was wrong about this game. It really is this generation's SM64/SS/Galaxy. I cannot wait until Friday.
