Everyone's broad assessment that Nintendo doesn't traditionally do well in the UK is a little far-fetched. This isn't the NES vs Master System debate anymore. Which to be honest, living through it, wasn't as one sided as people like to think or pretend they have statistical proof from.
I do kinda miss the 16 - 32 bit gens when there were tons of footy games to pick up. Now it really is just FIFA, somewhat PES and then budget arcadey titles like this.
Yep this list is basically the games available on Switch or the NES classic. Not a lot of old skool heads voting here by the looks of it. Where is Marble Madness, Digger T Rock, California Games and RC Pro Am?
@status-204 It's more embarrassing you calling out someone who is just trying to make a more light hearted comment on a thread being dominated by people stressing over fps.
all this fps stress. Why? 30 fps as long as its consistent is perfectly acceptable and you adjust to it quickly. If a game not running at 60fps really is the reason for you not to play a game then you're missing out on a lot of great games.
It is a lot of fun, but yes if you're decent at old school Mario you'll tend to be in the last 5 or 6 people regularly and that's where things get interesting. I'm gonna try and make some more time with it this weekend and open up more levels. Clever game.
Tremendous console. Possibly my fave handheld of all time. Still dipping in now i am picking up a lot of games on the cheap, and i think it will be the first console i introduce to my son and daughter in a couple of years.
The constant back and forth of touch screen to re grabbing my right side of the switch may either become frustrating or just really natural. We'll see i guess. Hopefully my pre-order arrives on Friday, as i hear there are some supply issues.
@sanderev Im not sure i can comfortably reach across the whole screen to collect star bits scattered everywhere quickly. But we will see i guess when the game is out next week. Looking forward to it.
I'm concerned about touch screen for getting star bits and what not. Moving my hand from holding the switch to touching the screen seems a bit of a hassle for something you have to do almost regularly in game. Will just have to see i guess.
i wasn't even gonna consider getting this as the Wii U one is stil so fresh in my mind. But the Bowser's Fury extra intrigues me. Need to know more about that first.
The Contra Collection was dirt cheap on the eshop recently so i got that. I know there are a few extras with these Arcade Archive versions, but not enough to warrant a double dip. Besides, i always preferred the console versions
@DoktorTotenKopf I wouldn't agree. At the price point it is at this is nice extra. What they really need to do is fix the bugs of actually playing games online.
@Kilamanjaro I have two young children so a just struggle to play any time sinkers now. The last game i put real time into was Stardew Valley and i am far from finished with that. Started PM Orgami King a few weeks ago and only put in about 2 hours so far.
This looks great, i just cannot warrant buying any more games at the moment. The backlog is ridiculous and i will not find the time to play it, Simple, but frustrating. Adulting has taken over
I got the physical version of Ritual of The Night in a sale for £20. But not had time to put any serious playing time into it yet, I think it's been patched reasonably well since the initial buggy release though from what i've heard.
@Apportal I have two young children now so getting through the backlog is hard enough. But yeh you're right, i should just be playing what makes me happy
I have Origami King on my shelf ready. But playing through sticker star at the moment (I know, cue the laughter and hate). Feel obliged to stick with that a bit longer first.
