@RupeeClock each one is separate with regards to points; you'll start again at 0 on each tournament. You can earn duplicates of prizes and trophies.

Haven't rly been playing this game much anymore besides just checking what's in the shops each day. I might participate in the tourney but it probably won't be for very long.

I kinda gave up on fishing in this game a long time ago...it's always a stupid bass (or trash, lol), or I end up reacting way too early. I hate those fishing mechanics...in any game. T.T

Last I participated, I already got the Gold Trophy. I'll just jump in again for the Miles Reward, as BenAV stated.

@Joeynator3000 the only game for me that ever got fishing right was GoVacation. And even then it was pretty mediocre lol

I missed the last one and the prizes/items. So I am happy to participate. I like some of the items I’ve seen on island visits so this is awesome. Especially becuase I had named my island “Kokomo” after The Beach Boys and im going for a Semi-Tropical and Beach theme.

omg. i very rarely go camping, and somehow i will have been out of town camping for BOTH of the tournaments so far!! i hope everyone who can participate has fun!

I've become very proficient at fishing the last few days (have had the game for a week now), landing whale sharks and great white ones is never tiring. Looking forward to this challenge. Just had my first camper express interest in staying and I've just agreed to my second room mortgage. Making a 100k + each day, bulk of it from fishing at night.

@spirit_flame The trick to fishing is to close your eyes and listen. That way the fish doesn't psych you out as you're looking at it. And fishing is how I paid off all my mortgages too! Except for the final one which I did turnips for.

@Giygas_95 Cool! My next focus is custom designs. Blew an opportunity without realizing when one of the sisters first showed up running a stall. What really confuses me about ACNH is the very wierd antialiasing on the pixel designs... very hard to plot pixel art.

@spirit_flame There's actually some sites where you can upload an image, and it'll transform it into a custom design for you. It looked a bit rough when I tried it, but it still worked nonetheless. This is the one I tried.

@Giygas_95 Many thanks. Will look into it. Game needs some clarification on the area of designs and projecting them on to surfaces. Trashed my house floor once - now I experiment in Harv's basement for floors and walls.

I’ll probably never go for a gold this time as last time I just did enough to get the prizes. I wonder if we’ll have different rewards? My favorite fishing in a game is ocarina of time, those were the days. I like it here to as it’s a mystery to what you’ll pull up.

A secret that always works for me is , right when I see a fish go for it, I take my eyes off the screen and just listen for the clunk and then I press a. Works every time for those really elusive pier fish.

@spirit_flame Yeah, the game actually doesn't explain too much. I haven't even changed my island's flag yet because I haven't settled on a good design...

@Arbor that’s the beauty of the Switch you can take it with you . (Of course you also wouldn’t want the insides to melt sitting in a hot vehicle most of the day).

@jsdude1 well i go camping to get away from the internet and electronics. so bringing the switch kind of defeats the purpose, i can play switch at home. it does suck though that it’s right during the tournament.

@ryancraddock with the first summer update, the guides for the fishing tourney and bug off need to be altered. K.K. now comes on the Sunday, not the previous Friday. At least, it is for those who have the update downloaded.

If it's the same rewards as last time I may not play as much. Did only het the bronze trophy but trying to get to gold sounds tiresome. And it's not like I need any more bells, got 5m+ in the bank and the house paid off.

I want to ask about Fishing Tournament system.
If i did Time Travel and Normal playing, will those affect with the fishes / reward i will get ?
I still saw Justin Beaver (C. J but i prefer to call him Justin since typing C and J with dot in the middle was quite annoying) was wandering around my island or standing at the Plaza while i was doing Time Travel.

@Joeynator3000 I find the variation on how long a fish takes to bite is longer than any other AC game to date. My strategy is that my eyes and wait for the "BLIP" (otherwise I react too early as well). Focusing on just the sound really helps.

@KIRO Yeah, fishing to pay off your mortgage would be pretty fun, especially if fishing were as easy as it is in Animal Crossing. Doesn't work like that unfortunately...

Getting prizes for the tournament is very frustrating. After getting every piece once, you get doubles some sort of random. But it seems, furniture is much more rare than other stuff. So in both fishing tournaments I got 4 shirts, 6 rugs, 6 wands, 3 wallpapers, more than 4 bags, but the only pieces of furniture I got a second (and not more) of are the anchor and the rack...

@Musharna I'm now prepared to eat my hat as I did see that 2 points for swapping for collectibles were there.... so my question is, if it all stacks up, once you get Gold do you get again next time automatically? I'm not sure how it works. Or is it like a Bank, so if you get 302 points, do you get get 300 deducted for the trophies and what remains just rolls over? It's weird ha

@sikthvash the points you can just keep stacking forever,

if you ger 300 you get all the trophys, doesn't have to be 300 in 1 day.

using the points is just for rewards, after caliming like 110 points worth or something you should have at least x1 of every reward and then can get random dupes.
