Check out Digital Foundry if you want to know about the work that was done on Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.
I already told you they're using the same engine form XBC2 and Torna, which is why we have the same results.
And yes, Monolith Soft is better than EA to me.
I think it's weird you're so hung up on the graphics of a game you don't own and don't know much about apprently and that's a make or break situation for you.
SOME assets are upscaled while other assets are brand new.
I don't think you've played the game given what you're saying, so whatever.
Not here to argue with you about crappy EA either, but if you want to defend and compare them to Monolith Soft with Definitive Edition because you're disappointed about graphics, well that a hilarious hill to die on.
Monolith gets a pass because they make games with good gameplay.
And gameplay first is what we all want the focus to be on besides graphics, right? (Well, except for you).
It's quite evident that the game is using the same engine as XBC2/Torna, and no, it's not quite an "8 year old game" that was ported to the Switch as it's a bit more complicated than that.
No offense, for a graphics guy such as yourself, you sound like a fake tech head.
And the $60 price tag is justifiable with the future connected add on which tacks 20 more hours of gameplay onto an 80 plus hour game redone for the Switch.
You basically have a beef with an engine that's showing its age.
If you people played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and/or Torna and loved it, then this shouldn't be an issue.
The "issue" here is that the game uses the same engine as XBC2 and Torna and handles anti aliasing the same way.
I've seen alot of misinformed people thinking that it's "just a port of the Wii game" when it's really not.
These open world games on Switch aren't easy to optimize, on top of having that same open world playable in handheld mode without nuking the battery, so not sure why folks would demand perfection here.
I ain't gonna lie, I wasn't a Genesis (or Mega Drive for the UK boiz) fan, but it had some games I liked alot like Streets of Rage 1&2, Shinobi 3, Dynamite Headdy, Sonic 2&3, ect, so just hearing that Streets of Rage 4 was done justice has me pumped!

Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Has The Best US Launch For The Series To Date, NPD Charts Reveal
@Yosher
You're never getting TTYD 2, so I'm sorry you're so hurt about it, but It's time to grow up and let it go.
Origami King is good on its own terms.
Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Has The Best US Launch For The Series To Date, NPD Charts Reveal
@Fulgor_Astral
You got any numbers to back up your claims here?
I'll be waiting, my boi.
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Sales Surpass 12 Million As Animal Crossing Returns To Number One
Sony is doing absolutely terrible in Japan now.
I encourage anyone to look at PS3 sales around the time the PS4 was about to be released.
The numbers were not abysmal like what were seeing today and I don't necessarily think it's all due to Sony's new console getting ready to come out.
The PS5 might be in trouble in Japan.
Re: Dead Cells Has Now Sold 3 Million Copies, New Update Detailed
@The-Chosen-one
The game is really good.
It's a rouge-like Metroidvaina on speed that I was addict to for a month!

Re: Feature: The Complete History Of Paper Mario
I'm of the mindset that there is no such thing as a Paper Mario fan.
The "fans"like The Thousand Year Door and have been praying for a sequel ever since.
Re: Review: Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 - Another Faithful Tribute To The Classic 2D Castlevanias
I'm more of a fan of the SotN style Castlevania games, but this is cool for people looking that old-school feel.

Re: EVO 2020 Has Been Officially Cancelled
I mean, I wasn't excited to see "Them's Fighting Herds" at EVO online anyway, so.....
But yeah, I think the right call was made since since apparently Joey admitted that he was doing and saying suspect stuff.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 8.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Silly_G
Why would Nintendo do that?
They value their initial releases to the point that they feel that one version of the game should suffice.
Most Definitive Editions of fighters actually screw initial adopters than anything else.
Re: Samurai Shodown's Next DLC Character Is A Crossover From Ubisoft's For Honor
DLC is typically decided way in advance, so maybe Soul Calibur was discussed but wasn't decided on OR it might be there in the future.
Still, the For Honor guy is way out of left field and isn't particular;y something to get hyped about even if it's "different".
Re: Samurai Shodown's Next DLC Character Is A Crossover From Ubisoft's For Honor
@retro_player_77
How do you know it's a licensing issue?
Re: Samurai Shodown's Next DLC Character Is A Crossover From Ubisoft's For Honor
@retro_player_77
Right, so they do what's totally out of left field and nonsensical by putting the For Honor guy in the game. ๐
Re: Samurai Shodown's Next DLC Character Is A Crossover From Ubisoft's For Honor
@JR150
For Honor is 3D as well and not many people are still playing that game.
Re: Samurai Shodown's Next DLC Character Is A Crossover From Ubisoft's For Honor
Well.....That's weird considering they could have used almost anyone from the Soul Calibur games.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Roguelikes, Roguelites And Run-Based Games
Enter the Gungeon is cool, but the best rougelike of all time to me is Dead Cells.
It plays like all those Symphony of the Night Castlevania games I grew up on, but on cocaine.

No offense, but Americans had the best box art and is probably the most memorable one till this day.

Had fun, but the biggest surprise is how fun Mancala is.

Basically Google Stadia for arcades?
Sega has become the most disappointing videogame company over these past few years.
Re: Limited Run Games Has Postponed Its Upcoming Presentation
Getting the gaming community involved in political nonsense was a mistake.
Given the amount of poltics that's infected gaming, stuff like this was inevitable and we're all paying, and will continue to pay for it.
I hope everyone enjoys their empty corporate statements along with the delays.
Re: The Outer Worlds Publisher Reveals Performance And Resolution Of The Switch Version
@BlueOcean
That doesn't even make sense, bro.
Monolith Soft needs to make a new engine or move to unreal or whatever devs will be using.
Not the crap you're taking about.

Ori 2 will be on Switch.
Quote my words.
It's just a matter of how long will it take.
Will it be 2 years instead of 4 like the last game? We'll see.
Re: The Outer Worlds Publisher Reveals Performance And Resolution Of The Switch Version

Ori 2 is definitely coming to Switch considering it's poor performance on XB1.

Mad because it didn't reach your personal graphics benchmarks?

That's nice and practically the best it can be for the Switch.
Let's see if it reaches that target, tho.
