Re: EVO 2020 Has Been Officially Cancelled

I mean, I wasn't excited to see "Them's Fighting Herds" at EVO online anyway, so.....

But yeah, I think the right call was made since since apparently Joey admitted that he was doing and saying suspect stuff.

Getting the gaming community involved in political nonsense was a mistake.

Given the amount of poltics that's infected gaming, stuff like this was inevitable and we're all paying, and will continue to pay for it.

I hope everyone enjoys their empty corporate statements along with the delays.

@Razer

Check out Digital Foundry if you want to know about the work that was done on Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.

I already told you they're using the same engine form XBC2 and Torna, which is why we have the same results.

And yes, Monolith Soft is better than EA to me.

I think it's weird you're so hung up on the graphics of a game you don't own and don't know much about apprently and that's a make or break situation for you.

The whole game isn't upscaled, bro.

SOME assets are upscaled while other assets are brand new.

I don't think you've played the game given what you're saying, so whatever.

Not here to argue with you about crappy EA either, but if you want to defend and compare them to Monolith Soft with Definitive Edition because you're disappointed about graphics, well that a hilarious hill to die on.

Enjoy Burnout, tho!

Monolith gets a pass because they make games with good gameplay.

And gameplay first is what we all want the focus to be on besides graphics, right? (Well, except for you).

It's quite evident that the game is using the same engine as XBC2/Torna, and no, it's not quite an "8 year old game" that was ported to the Switch as it's a bit more complicated than that.

No offense, for a graphics guy such as yourself, you sound like a fake tech head.

And the $60 price tag is justifiable with the future connected add on which tacks 20 more hours of gameplay onto an 80 plus hour game redone for the Switch.

You basically have a beef with an engine that's showing its age.

If you people played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and/or Torna and loved it, then this shouldn't be an issue.

The "issue" here is that the game uses the same engine as XBC2 and Torna and handles anti aliasing the same way.

I've seen alot of misinformed people thinking that it's "just a port of the Wii game" when it's really not.

These open world games on Switch aren't easy to optimize, on top of having that same open world playable in handheld mode without nuking the battery, so not sure why folks would demand perfection here.
