As for the folks that don't get why the digital version of the game is getting delisted, well it's because they're treating digital and physical releases the same because it's a 35th anniversary product.

Smash already has it's fair share of character inclusions to draw money, but it also has characters there simply to be hype (which is what Sephiroth is).

Also, Smash puts a spotlight on each character when they get revealed and that generates interest which can lead into sales.

Who's to say that there won't be an uptick in sales of anything related to FF7 and who's to say that FF7 fans wouldn't be interested in buying Smash and a Switch now that the two characters are in Smash?

Like I said, there's nothing anyone can say that would make me think Sephiroth was a bad pick.

Perfect Dark took 3 years to develop and exceeded the Golden Eye foundation in every way.

Every game that was nominated earned that spot more than TLoU 2 did.

Sure it tried things, but some of it wasn't handled well as say, what Hades did.

Like seriously, was it better than FF7R, Ghosts of Tsushima (a new IP) Animal Crossing New Horizons (Which basically took the gaming world by storm) or Hades (Which basically redefined Rougelike games)?

Hard disagree.

Nintendo will always do what they do on their consoles, but regardless of sales, games like Control, The Witcher 3, and Doom Eternal on Switch bolsters it's proof of concept.

Also, what you consider a "cardinal sin" is purely subjective.

I think games like this perfectly showcase what the Switch is all about.

Take the same games you've played with all the PC/dedicated console like bells and whistles, and retool that to the point where you can still have mostly the same experience in the palm of your hands when you want to.

Games like this show what the Switch is all about IMO and it's still kinda impressive thinking about it.

Will be downloading this one sooner rather than later.

I really want to get into this game, but the crashing issues are a huge deterrent.
