Nintendo doesn't have to go back and retrofit anything in their catalog to please people.
How about just sticking to what's current? (Which is Ultimate).
It's frustrating watching people act like they're owed anything from a business while at the same time, get mad at people for pointing out the realities of business.
Nintendo is not our friend, they're here to make money.
Sony (and Phillips), not the gaming side, pushed CD's as a format.
Sony, the gaming side wasn't the first one to use CD's as a format for videogames.
It's a distinction there that you should note if you want to argue that point.
Since were here, I'd also like to make a distinction. Sony Interactive Entertainment, the videogame division, never pushes the envelope when it comes to videogames.
What Sony does is take what's existing and adds to it, but none of that is innovative.
You're touting CD's like the Sega CD, Sega Saturn, the Turbo Graphics CD, The CDI, ect wasn't a thing before Sony came along.
You're talking about 3D Audio as if Sony using it is a game changer...it isn't.
Which game engines created in house by Sony are you talking about in terms of innovation? And what makes those engines stand out over everything we have today? 🤔
Also, adaptive triggers is just a better version of impulse triggers featured in XBOX controllers.
I mean, Sony is cool and all, but let's not act like they really push the envelope in anything they do.
Honestly, I've never played a Trails game until CS3 and I was fine with the summary because it was fairly concise enough to the point where you feel familiar with the characters when you see them for the first time.
It will probably be neat to have the previous two games, but I have no intention of playing the previous games
I mean what are you gonna do? You either accept it as a joke and move on or get affect by it.
It's kinda sad watching people like John Linneman from Digital Foundry get "deeply affected" by trollish negative Twitter commentary instead of sidelining it as he should, but at least Sakurai choose to turn the chat off 🤷
That's what having talent and being creative gets you.
I've been liking some of the moves MS has made going into next gen, but I hope they don't think buying up anyone that wants the money will make them suddenly be better than they were before.
It's a SKU created to celebrate Mario's 35th anniversary.
Nintendo likes to end their celebrations, not keep it around forever, so it makes sense to discontinue the physical and digital version of the collection for consistency sake when it's time.
The games will probably come back in separate SKU's but the compilation will not, and making up hypothetical situations about who won't get to play the COLLECTION after March is kinda funny to me.
Not sure why you folks can't except things being limited.
I totally get why they didn't include the DS port.
If they're celebrating the 35th anniversary (which they are) you'll specifically highlight the games that were milestones in the 3D era of Mario games, which the DS version of 64 is not.
The the next argument is; "well the original All-Stars updated the graphics" sure, but we're talking 2D vs 3D here along with time and money to redo every single asset of a far more complex game.
I actually understand why 64 didn't get a remake like some of these people wanted as the collection is basically a history lesson of sorts and thus would be inauthentic to what is being conveyed.
That statement made by myself is geared towards those folks trying to use this as a weapon to bolster their distain because the game is indeed limited....(And Nintendo never had limited anything before amIrite? 🤔)
But hey, like you say, people can complain and say whatever they want just like I can 🤷♂️
I see people using this as a way to say "Gotcha Nintendo! This shouldn't be a limited release!'
1) Nintendo can do what they want with games on their catalog
2) This BASE store isn't the only thing smoking in the UK as I'm aware that according to some of my UK buddies, they had no clue what BASE was and Amazon UK as well as GAME is taking pre-orders according to them.
3) Don't expect lesser known retailers to have a huge amount of stock of this game.
The price of the game would most likely be above the MSRP of $59.99 if Galaxy 2 was added.
Look at it this way, the collection as is is already a steal as Galaxy is worth more than essentially $20.
And probably why the collection is a limited release as Nintendo isn't going to keep undercutting themselves when dealing with one of their premiere franchises.
I don't know about anyone else, but I have a backlog that needs to be tackled which includes Indies, so when anyone complains about a drought, well...I just can't relate 🤷♂️
I'm sorry you didn't get what you wanted, but until you actually play the game and have a decent point of reference, all you're doing is complaining about missing how things used to be 🤷♂️

Re: Smash Comp The Big House Cancelled After Cease And Desist From Nintendo
@Yellow
Nintendo's claim is that The Big House was going to use illegal copies of the game, on top of a mod.
One of them is a fact and not the way Nintendo released the original product.
And on top of that, Nintendo was sponsoring The Big House who apparently refused to comply with Nintendo's demands.
The Big House doesn't have much of a leg to stand on.
People feel like they're owned something when they're really not.

Re: Smash Comp The Big House Cancelled After Cease And Desist From Nintendo
From my understanding, The Big House is sponsored by Nintendo, so this was a dumb business move on their part.
The notion that it was okay to host a modified version of a Nintendo game like it was okay under those circumstances will always be dumb.
Also, Nintendo was pretty shrewd, but they're allowed to legally enforce their rights.

They don't.
Re: The Company Behind Switch's HD Rumble Is Also Responsible For PS5 Controller's Haptic Feedback
@MrMetroid
Sony is still copying, tho.
Nintendo didn't own motion controls, but that didn't stop Sony and MS from trying to capitalize off what Nintendo brought into the spotlight.
I mean, you can be pissed about it, but this is what Sony is known for.
They're not innovative at all.
Re: The Company Behind Switch's HD Rumble Is Also Responsible For PS5 Controller's Haptic Feedback
Sony copying Nintendo hasn't been surprising since the PS3.
Re: Hyper Light Drifter Dev Abylight Slams Twitter's 'Dangerous And Careless Attitude' After Surprise Ban
I see that the folks at Nintendo Life cleaned up the comment section including some things I've said.
It's all good though because it was even handed and because of that, I respect it.

@CodyDogg I'm not reading all that lol!

Pikmin 3 is doing fine in Japan, tho.
I know this might hurt, but UK sales aren't super important.

Re: Switch Version Of Ubisoft's Prince Of Persia Remake Resurfaces Online

This isn't the same Ubisoft that was around when the original game came out..
Re: Fittingly, Tropico 6 Has Just Launched On Nintendo Switch

It must be nice to be so ignorant.
Granted, perception is what you want it to be.
Re: Fittingly, Tropico 6 Has Just Launched On Nintendo Switch

Telling people who they voted for makes them dumb, ironically makes you the idiot (and an intolerant one at that).
Back off that kinda rhetoric 🤡
Re: Fittingly, Tropico 6 Has Just Launched On Nintendo Switch
If Trump was really a dictator, the folks at NL wouldn't be writing this nonsense.
Re: Switch Hardware Sales Reach 68.3 Million, Now Nintendo's Second Best-Selling Home Console Ever
Trying to top the Wii will be a tall order, but I hope it does indeed do that.
Re: Sega Sammy Set To Sell Majority Of Sega Entertainment
That sucks, because the history of Sega and Arcades in Japan are legendary, but they gotta do what they gotta do to stay afloat.
Mind you, this company doesn't make the best financial decisions anyway (I'm squinting my eye at the Game Gear Micro).

Re: Talking Point: Cloud Gaming On Switch – The Pros And Cons Of The Cloud
I'm totally fine with this way of bringing games to the Switch that would otherwise be a pipe dream.
I'm not particularly interested in streaming games on the Switch myself, but the more ways to play games on the Switch, the better
Re: Random: This Prototype Sega Mega Drive Controller Is Giving Us Serious Wii Nunchuk Vibes

You might like it, but that controller wouldn't even be practical with my 90's goggle on in any shape or form.
Granted, some people like things just because it's "different" not because it's useful.
Re: Review: Pikmin 3 Deluxe - Perhaps Not Worth A Double Dip, But The Choice Pick For New Players
Played Pikmin for the first time with the Pikmin 3 demo and I can see why people like it.
It's kinda exhilarating trying to get everything done within the time limit that the game places on you.
Re: Random: This Prototype Sega Mega Drive Controller Is Giving Us Serious Wii Nunchuk Vibes
Good thing that it was only a prototype because it looks hideous.
Re: Switch Is No Longer The Only Way To Play Bloodstained On The Move
The Switch version releasing in the state it did killed any hype I had for this game.....
And I'm a huge fan of SotN and the subsequent games too.
Re: The Original Fire Emblem Is Coming To The West For The First Time Ever On Switch
I, for one, ain't mad as this is done because of the 30th anniversary of Fire Emblem.
However, the collectors edition being a download code is lame.

It's still available until March, hence it's still limited.

Re: A Pokémon Sword And Shield DLC Bundle Hits Stores This November
@Wexter
Are people really mad about this tho?
A few people, myself included, are putting the blame on ourselves for buying this day one, but that's contingent on what the price is for this pack.
Re: A Pokémon Sword And Shield DLC Bundle Hits Stores This November
Depending on the price, I may rebuy Shield because I'm a moron who brought the game on release.
The sting is reduced a bit because I haven't purchased any of the DLC, tho.

They've been making all the right moves headed into next gen unlike Sony.

Re: Dark Horse Publishing Sonic The Hedgehog Encyclopedia In 2021
Sonic's glory days are all stuck in the 16 bit era (Mania was great too!), but I'm not gonna disrespect the blue Hedgehog because he's still Iconic.
BTW: all the 3D Sonic games are trash!

Not so sure why y'all are having a hard time with this.
They (Nintendo) wanted compile the game for Mario's 35th Anniversary and says it's limited....you know why.
If you don't like it, well tough cookie, but Nintendo is allowed to have limited releases like everyone else does.

Is the game perfect? No.
The game is generally liked tho, so whatever you think, you're in the clear minority.
Not sure why you folks can't let this game live and be decent on It's own merits.
Like I said before, TTYD isn't coming back.
