Re: Smash Comp The Big House Cancelled After Cease And Desist From Nintendo

@Yellow

Nintendo's claim is that The Big House was going to use illegal copies of the game, on top of a mod.

One of them is a fact and not the way Nintendo released the original product.

And on top of that, Nintendo was sponsoring The Big House who apparently refused to comply with Nintendo's demands.

The Big House doesn't have much of a leg to stand on.

People feel like they're owned something when they're really not.

Nintendo doesn't have to go back and retrofit anything in their catalog to please people.

How about just sticking to what's current? (Which is Ultimate).

It's frustrating watching people act like they're owed anything from a business while at the same time, get mad at people for pointing out the realities of business.

Nintendo is not our friend, they're here to make money.

Re: The Company Behind Switch's HD Rumble Is Also Responsible For PS5 Controller's Haptic Feedback

Sony (and Phillips), not the gaming side, pushed CD's as a format.

Sony, the gaming side wasn't the first one to use CD's as a format for videogames.

It's a distinction there that you should note if you want to argue that point.

Since were here, I'd also like to make a distinction. Sony Interactive Entertainment, the videogame division, never pushes the envelope when it comes to videogames.

@MrMetroid

What Sony does is take what's existing and adds to it, but none of that is innovative.

You're touting CD's like the Sega CD, Sega Saturn, the Turbo Graphics CD, The CDI, ect wasn't a thing before Sony came along.

You're talking about 3D Audio as if Sony using it is a game changer...it isn't.

Which game engines created in house by Sony are you talking about in terms of innovation? And what makes those engines stand out over everything we have today? 🤔

Also, adaptive triggers is just a better version of impulse triggers featured in XBOX controllers.

I mean, Sony is cool and all, but let's not act like they really push the envelope in anything they do.

They don't.

Re: More Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel Games Are Coming To Switch

JuiceMan_V

Honestly, I've never played a Trails game until CS3 and I was fine with the summary because it was fairly concise enough to the point where you feel familiar with the characters when you see them for the first time.

It will probably be neat to have the previous two games, but I have no intention of playing the previous games

I'm moving on to CS4

Re: Video: The Problem With The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Release

JuiceMan_V

It's a SKU created to celebrate Mario's 35th anniversary.

Nintendo likes to end their celebrations, not keep it around forever, so it makes sense to discontinue the physical and digital version of the collection for consistency sake when it's time.

The games will probably come back in separate SKU's but the compilation will not, and making up hypothetical situations about who won't get to play the COLLECTION after March is kinda funny to me.

Not sure why you folks can't except things being limited.

Re: Here's Your First Look At The Main Menu In Super Mario 3D All-Stars

JuiceMan_V

I totally get why they didn't include the DS port.

If they're celebrating the 35th anniversary (which they are) you'll specifically highlight the games that were milestones in the 3D era of Mario games, which the DS version of 64 is not.

The the next argument is; "well the original All-Stars updated the graphics" sure, but we're talking 2D vs 3D here along with time and money to redo every single asset of a far more complex game.

Re: Online Retailer Cancels Orders For Super Mario 3D All-Stars Due To "Woefully Short" Supply

JuiceMan_V

I see people using this as a way to say "Gotcha Nintendo! This shouldn't be a limited release!'

1) Nintendo can do what they want with games on their catalog

2) This BASE store isn't the only thing smoking in the UK as I'm aware that according to some of my UK buddies, they had no clue what BASE was and Amazon UK as well as GAME is taking pre-orders according to them.

3) Don't expect lesser known retailers to have a huge amount of stock of this game.

Re: Feature: So, What Happened To Super Mario Galaxy 2?

JuiceMan_V

The price of the game would most likely be above the MSRP of $59.99 if Galaxy 2 was added.

Look at it this way, the collection as is is already a steal as Galaxy is worth more than essentially $20.

And probably why the collection is a limited release as Nintendo isn't going to keep undercutting themselves when dealing with one of their premiere franchises.
