One of the new announcements made in the recent Nintendo Direct was that of Pokémon Picross. The upcoming puzzle game aims to crossover the Pokémon and Picross series by featuring over 300 puzzle based off of various Pokémon from the popular series. Moreover, once each puzzle is solved, the Pokémon that it depicts is "caught" and can be added to a team that'll help solve puzzles quicker via support abilities that reveal certain clues. If nothing else, it looks like an interesting spin on the somewhat tired formula of Picross games.
The game was pegged for a December release in the Direct and we now have a firm release date for exactly when. In both North America and Europe, the game will be releasing on 3rd December, hopefully at a comparable price to the other Picross titles already available on the eShop. Check out this trailer:

I'll pass... I don't care for Picross.
Though it's good to see it get a launch next week.
You've neglected to mention that this is a free-to-start game. No cost of entry; however, more of the game can be unlocked using an in-game currency called "Picrites", that can also be bought with real money. I believe there is a cap on how may Picrites can be bought a la Pokémon Rumble World, but the cost is something ridiculous like $40 compared to the AU$6.50 asking price of all of the other Picross e games (and this particular Picross game simply recycles that same years-old engine).
Definitely getting this. I love Pokemon and Picross. Plus I have finished all the puzzles on the E series. I need a new Picross game
Kreygasm
Seeing as I haven't completed Picross 3D or DS, and haven't bit at any of the e- offerings yet, this may sate my fickle fingers. At the least, looking forward to piecing together what any of this hyper-pixelations are.
I really enjoy Picross, but I will need to see how the microtransactions work first.
Can't wait for this, but I really hope the spending cap for the west ends up being low enough to at least end up comparable to the -e series' pricing.
A new Picross and Xenoblade Chronicles X in one week? Be still my heart.
Yay! Great news Now if they would announce Picross 3D 2 for 3DS in the west I can call this a good year.
A game for senior citizen Pokemon fans!
I will probably wait until some of the reviews come out
Picross, pokemon, special abilities, free, December, the? Count....me....in.
Don't care for pokemen. Don't care for 2D Picross. So no.
Good thing I still have Picross 3D 2 to play
This would be my first Picross game. But since it's free, I don't see no reason against at least trying it out.
@sillygostly then again, each one of these has less content than this one, and most of them actually require you to purchase the other games to unlock some of the puzzles.
Yes, it would be cheaper to buy a few of the e games, but this one has the advantage of being free to start (new players can decide if they want to keep playing before making an investment, other players can try and see how far can they get without paying, etc) and pokemon-themed.
Yes, that's a feature that makes people want to pay for things.
So happy about this. I love Picross. I love Pokémon. Put 'em together and I'm all over it!
Depends on pricing scheme.
And announce localization for Picross 3D 2 already!
Whoop whoop! Love me some Picross, especially Nintendo-centric Picross. Curious about the free to play model.
I'll download it but I won't spend any money on it.
I'd prefer if this was a regular eshop purchase, saving the hassle of waiting, or buying more puzzles, or time or however they plan on making this f2p.
I just hope they're going to price in sensibly. Otherwise I'll just download the other Picross E ganes which I haven't got round to playing yet. I do love the idea of Pokemon Picross though.
Picross is awesome, but Pokemon I don't really care about.
What I would like to have is Picross 3D 2 to come to Europe.
