Re: Feature: Best WarioWare Microgames Ever

JoeyTS

@zool That's just unfair then because even the "best" WarioWare game according to this list only has 24% of the best games. The other 76% are on other consoles. Frankly, you just have a very pessimistic outlook when you purposefully skew results in the way that you do because when you have a list of 25 with 6 all fantastic games being represented, then even the best ones are going to pale in comparison when compared to the other 5!

Re: Feature: Best WarioWare Microgames Ever

JoeyTS

@zool But count out the actual scores. Smooth Moves is also 12%. Twisted and Gold are at 16%, Mega Microgames is at 20%, and Touched is at 24%. And I'd make Twisted 12% because one of the microgames is literally doing absolutely nothing. Same for Touched which has a game where you do nothing so I'd make that 20%. Only two of the games actually hit 20% so in all actuality, it's a very slight difference.

Here's your logic, WarioWare Smooth Moves is also 12%. That means 25 games across the other 5 in the series averages to around 20% per game while the Wii version is only 12%. So therefore, the Wii is below average. But using this logic, now Get it Together is among the list of games that average the percentage to 20%!

See you still are skewing the results. You actually count out Get it Together's percentage of games on this list but for the other five? You just average them out or combine them together to make the numbers seem higher than they really are. Why not give every game the same treatment instead of pretending like Get it Together is so much worse than the other games?

Re: Feature: Best WarioWare Microgames Ever

JoeyTS

@zool Obviously not, but when you say 88% of the microgames are on other consoles, those 88% of microgames are spread across 5 different games in the series. So don't go "Oh dear" when you're putting the percentage of a single game up against 5 other games in the series.

Re: Feature: Best WarioWare Microgames Ever

JoeyTS

@zool You compare 1 single entry over 5. Obviously it's skewed. By your logic, WarioWare Touched is the best entry in the entire series since 6 microgames are represented here and Smooth Moves is one of the worst with also just 3!

Re: Feature: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Or That Time Mario Got Movin’ To Mozart

JoeyTS

@BloodNinja The marvelous handholding isn't even a thing, it's just a more precise timing window, something you can't seem to grasp properly! It's simple, the game got harder, that's when you gave up and blamed the game instead of yourself using excuses like how you're good at other things outside of the game and not actually the game itself to justify anything you say. I never even said I relied on the bar, I started playing the game without it! But then I used it because why not? It's there, always been there, and is a perfectly valid way to play and I got better not only at the game with the bar but as I say now for the third time, better without the bar! I sometimes no bar it regardless and I do better than I did years ago! Because you know I was never stubborn I actually wanted to see what the game had to offer, and I did. I got better at reading charts, I improved my stamina and foot speed and it helped me just get better at the game in general!

Then you had those tournaments years ago and that's great, but people wanted new content, wanted the game to get harder! It wasn't going to stay this way forever and so it's clear that holding the bar has become much more acceptable because of this, but some old school players obviously haven't kept up with that!

Yeah when you say the hardest song you got an AAA on is a 13, then yeah I can quite simply say that I do better than that! The only insecurity I see is by telling me how you do all this martial arts and gym stuff and not actually about the game itself. Because I'm better at the game and so you revert it to "well I do these other things, can you?" Well no I'm not interested, I was never talking about that I was talking about DDR and it's because I'm willing to play the way that practically every serious player plays these days that I can actually see improvement and explore the content provided in the game!

Re: Feature: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Or That Time Mario Got Movin’ To Mozart

JoeyTS

@BloodNinja I'm better with the bar, I've gotten even better without the bar too and I'm happy with how much better I've been getting! Weak and frail for holding something behind your back is total hyperbole and I don't need to constantly brag about things outside of the game to justify my worth, I'll continue to get better at the game and more fit without someone saying that what I'm doing isn't working. Because not only is it working, but I'm having fun and that's what truly matters in a game!

Re: Feature: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Or That Time Mario Got Movin’ To Mozart

JoeyTS

@BloodNinja Only something a stubborn old school player would say. All because of a bar on a video game that was around since the very first DDR iteration! A refusal to accept the new, well 1998 new, and that's totally fine because that doesn't affect my enjoyment that comes out of the game with and without the bar!

I have no interest in ballet or martial arts, I never intended to play DDR to get better at those things, I played DDR because I enjoy that game and want to get better at that game and I get more enjoyment when I get to explore more of its content and actually see improvement in that game!

Re: Feature: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Or That Time Mario Got Movin’ To Mozart

JoeyTS

@BloodNinja Top condition for one person doesn't equal top condition for another. But ones thing's clear, I'm better than you at DDR with and without the bar even when you were at your peak, I'd still be better, and it's because I wasn't one to believe that the bar which had been implemented back in the very first DDR was Satan behind my back! I play DDR because it's fun and it so happens to help improve my physical health, not vice versa and that's totally okay!

Re: Feature: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Or That Time Mario Got Movin’ To Mozart

JoeyTS

@BloodNinja And what's even greater about this all is that I've gotten better at playing without the bar when I decide to no bar it. Because I read harder charts now, because I've improved my foot speed, and because I've improved my stamina, I get good scores when I no bar a chart too. I mean Chris4Life plays with the bar but he can still crank out a PFC on a 17 without the bar because he's actually been getting better. I mean you say I ignored your points? You ignored mine! Dead in 30 minutes? Like I said before which you did seem to ignore, I'm at my top condition. My stamina is at its highest it's ever been, I'm running faster, and I play better even without the bar than when I did years ago. And besides? Since when did the quality of a game only be determined by if it teaches a real life skill? It's a video game for pete's sake! I don't think that should matter anyways when it's about having fun, and you know what? I'm having fun because I'm actually getting better and I'm seeing more of the game's content instead of bragging about getting an AAA on a freaking 13! That's a textbook stubborn old school player moment!

Re: Feature: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Or That Time Mario Got Movin’ To Mozart

JoeyTS

@BloodNinja It's not a pointless game, it's a fun game. I just love how you say it defeats the entire purpose when the bar had been on machines from the very beginning. It's absolutely the masochism of players who don't reach their full potential by refusing to use a tool that Konami themselves had been providing since 1998. You underestimate the fitness involved especially when it comes to holding the bar and just pretend it doesn't exist, it absolutely exists. I play two hour sessions twice a week at least with the bar and my stamina and foot speed are at its peak. I can play for 15 years and my legacy with the game can go way beyond getting an okay score on a low tier 16! Stubborn I say is the one who thinks the game is dead because people just wanted the game to get harder!

Re: Feature: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, Or That Time Mario Got Movin’ To Mozart

JoeyTS

@BloodNinja Ugh stubborn old school players, I thought everyone had accepted the bar by now. The bar has been implemented by Konami themselves since the very beginning for a reason, it’s not unfair in the slightest especially when every competing player has access to using it, I think it’s more so the stubbornness of old school players that refuse to take advantage of it. I used to be, then I played with the bar, now I clear 17s and 18s and have fun doing it! Because the charts are fun! And Chris4life is a godly player. Being able to execute crossovers and streams with very minimal movement, setting records and competing in competitions, the guy is a master class and one of the best DDR players out there.

Oh look, he can no bar it too!

He's doing this blindfolded, hope him using the bar doesn't offend you!

Re: Video: Here's How Mario Party Superstars On Switch Compares To The N64 Originals

JoeyTS

@Kriven I think that's a horrible idea! For context, Super Mario Party doesn't support handheld play, this game does. So it's horrible because if I was a Switch Lite owner, I'd be buying a game that isn't compatible in handheld mode just to be able to gain the ability to purchase an additional DLC that does work in handheld mode. So I spend $60 on a game that I can't play just so I can buy a DLC that will work. The games are better off separated. Switch Lite owners won't be forced to buy a game that doesn't work for them just to play this content!

Re: Global Sales Data Suggests Balan Wonderworld Has Massively Flopped

JoeyTS

@AbejaGrande If a game sucks, it gets a bad score. End of story. Do your kids also love Mario games? I bet they do! So do a lot of other people. Mario is geared towards a younger audience, but they’re also great games. Balan Wonderworld is fundamentally flawed. Even if your kids enjoy it, that isn’t an excuse to ignore some of the game’s major issues. The rating for a kids game is E for EVERYONE. Not E for excusing fundamental flaws because they’re games for a younger audience. (Though I may point out that Balan Wonderworld is E10+)

Re: Ori Director Criticises "Snake Oil Salesmen" Behind No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk, And Fable

JoeyTS

@AndreaF96
Personally, I think what this person said in regards to journalism was rude. It isn't necessarily a journalist's job to hold someone or something accountable. They simply collect news on what is currently happening. It's not their jobs to force people to see possible connections or to hold them accountable. It's not required as a journalist to tell you how you should feel about something. All they do is write on the latest news and let the people do as they wish with it.

Re: EU Calls For Investigation Into Switch Joy-Con Drift Following More Than 25,000 Complaints

JoeyTS

@Donkey-Kong-Fan It's a similar scenario. If Cyberpunk wasn't known to be a broken and unfinished game, you wouldn't get a refund as easily. But since it IS a broken and unfinished game, no matter how much of the game you've played, you can get a full refund now. If Joy-Con drift wasn't known to be widespread, you would have to pay for the repairs if out of warranty. Since it IS a widespread issue, no matter if the Joy-Cons are under warranty or not, Nintendo will fix the drift for free. It's a clear indicator that it's a widespread issue.

And I'm a huge fan of Nintendo, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with everything they do. I'm glad the Switch is successful, but that doesn't mean I have to ignore some of the blaring problems. Just as a majority on this site feel, just as the very first comment on this thread says, in fact, just as the first five comments on this thread say, Nintendo needs to be held responsible for this. Quite honestly, you ignoring that makes you seem like the ultimate Nintendo Bootlicker with an extra Funky Kong mode included. Because Nintendo is a perfect angel of a company that does no wrong right?? God forbid the fans voice their concerns in hopes that Nintendo listens and makes their products better!!

Re: In 2020, Just Dance Was As Popular As Watch Dogs And Mario Kart 8 Sold More Than In 2019

JoeyTS

@DK-Fan I am so incredibly disappointed in your comment regarding Dance Dance Revolution and games in the genre. You not enjoying the game doesn’t dictate everyone else’s opinion on it. You don’t have to be an otaku to like Persona or Dragon Quest for example just because it isn’t “simple and mainstream”. Persona is a fantastic JRPG that many western audiences have also loved. In fact, as you clearly are not aware, Just Dance 2021 has more K-Pop songs EVER BEFORE! The real reason DDR and Pump it Up don’t reach mainstream audiences is because they’re dominant in the arcade scene which isn’t as prominent right now as the console scene is. It’s also why Guitar Hero isn’t as prominent as it used to be. Nothing to do with the music, but more so the shift in consumer interest affecting more than just DDR. I don’t particularly listen to J-Pop or K-Pop on my own time but I love the fun gameplay element and challenge offered in these titles. As someone who doesn’t like working out at a gym, I use these games as my means of exercise because they’re fun, challenging, and a great workout . And furthermore, are you one to assume that liking Japanese music AUTOMATICALLY makes you an Otaku? People can like all sorts of music. And with groups like BTS in South Korea, K-Pop and J-Pop are actually becoming more mainstream than you may think. As I said, Just Dance has an entire fan base dedicated to those who buy the game JUST for the K-Pop. Beat Saber which is an EXTREMELY popular rhythm game in the VR space is releasing a BTS DLC with a huge track list of their K-Pop music. So to say that Japanese and Korean music isn’t mainstream is absolutely false. As someone who has grown up with these games, I am so utterly appalled with your ignorant comment.

Re: Poll: Among Us Is Out Now On The Nintendo Switch, Are You Getting It?

JoeyTS

Bought this game today. Very fun! Typing can suck in public lobbies, but that issue became nonexistent once I started playing with friends with Discord chat which is when the magic of the game really shines! I’m willing to believe that the people who couldn’t get into this game most likely didn’t get to play with friends!

Re: Review: Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack - A Fine Western Debut For This Drumming Duo

JoeyTS

@Anti-Matter Naoki doesn't make songs for the game anymore. The songs are becoming a lot more anime focused as of recent would you agree? Look into the recent anime songs in the game. They really aren't much better than Taiko

-Noushou Sakuretsu Girl is about a girl who goes to night clubs to have a "good time"

-Apparently There's a Cheat Code to Happiness is about suicide and depression

-The Losts Ones Weeping can also regard to depression and suicidal thoughts

-SEXY Planet

And many more that are anime focused that I'm sure have inappropriate meanings! All in DDR! If you play rhythm games, you have played more suggestive songs. My point though is that you shouldn't worry about which songs are 18+ necessarily or not. You don't want to listen to the song itself, you just want to play the game and so since you only play the song for the purpose of playing the game, there is no sin!

I never mentioned difficulty or challenge. But yes, I can pass level 18s. The most notable one was Valkrie Dimension on Extreme.
