Wow. A lot of releases. But only physical releases of Metroid Dread and Disco Elysium, when it’s released next year for me. Though Tetris Effect does look interesting.
Just Metroid and SMTV, until Advance Wars in Dec. Will even be getting Dread not long after launch.
But seriously, £59 from that awful rip-off Amazon shop! That’s £10 more than the RRP from UK Nintendo store, to say nothing of the excellent indies like thegamecollection, 365 and shopto.
The Autumn schedule is already looking good, but I’ll always take a direct, especially out of the blue. Guess the focus will be first quarter of 2022 leading up to the end of the winter.
Some sort of F Zero, Pilotwings, Pikmin 4, Golden Sun remakes/sequel and that rumoured StatFox racer would be top of my list.
Really enjoy strategy games; probably favourite genre during my gaming twilight years. Currently playing WarGroove with a healthy strategy backlog, inc. Three Houses. But this game does nothing to give me the fizz.
Ignored the Crusin’ series, most likely because the first was called …USA. And anything not F-Zero used to be a downgrade in my eyes; yes very ignorant. But I am intrigued so may gives this a punt, especially with the big N at the helm.
Travis games have never caught my attention. But my changing attitudes towards gaming made me watch Jon’s video review; Jon’s passion is fab and I’m open to new experiences. As someone who grew up in 80’s satire comedy England I can dig the concept of this game, plus the 60fps combat. Maybe one day, at a reduced cost (only because it’s a c grade for my tastes) and with some spare time I may give this a crack.
But, the majority of the review excluding Jon’s dulcet tones, is quite negative and yet receives an 8? NL reviewer; be more positive 🤷♂️
Daughter is with me this weekend and she’s fully engrossed with Animal Crossing. If I get a spare moment I’ll try and get started with WarGroove. With Advance Wars coming I need to make a dent in my strategy backlog pile of shame.
May try and get in a few rounds of Mario Golf as well.
Got my 6 year old daughter a Switch coral lite recently and I have to say it is rather nice. Maybe I could get the blue lite just for indies, retro games and RPGs.
The Switch Pro has become the worst kept secret in the gaming world. There are too many articles to dismiss that it’s coming this year. NL clearly know more than they’re letting on.
And that’s just it, it’s a good game. It’s not a great Zelda game let alone a great game, and considering the pedigree, Zelda games should be battling for GOTG.
Yes the art style is nice and graphics are fab, but what use is that when the game is annoying and frustrating to play? No amount of style will make up the games short comings. And that’s one of the odd things since Nintendo prioritises gameplay over graphics. The phrase, a ... is a t*rd but you can roll it in glitter seems about right.
I import vinyl from all over the world, and for a number of years now importing from the US is way more expensive than anywhere else. It's so bad that I only buy from them as a last resort.
But for Analogue - I was hoping to get the SuperNT at some point, but it looks like I'll have to wait even longer now.
Super Mario World will always have a special place for me, but if ever I need something to unwind to, something that needs instinct and no brain power, then it's Doom - especially the more recent entries..
Grrr - have just completed Sunshine with 80ish stars and my biggest complaint was the in-inverted controls. At least I can fully enjoy 64 and Galaxy now at least.
It really shouldn’t take this long to patch such a simple option, or even have it missing in the first place.
This is similar to the 35th Game and Watch availability, but now it’s freely available to pre order, in the UK at least, and presumably rest of Europe. You’d have to be slightly mad to feed the sharks
Sports Story and Hollow Knight are a shoe in, and will keep an eye on Bear and Breakfast for my daughter. She loves We Bare Bears and reminds me of it.
It's a good thing if the ports supplement the Switch library and not replaces/delays new titles.
With the exception of Mario Kart I've avoided all Wii U ports. Price isn't really an issue as there's always bargains to be had if you're a savvy chopper; I just picked up Astral Chain from Currys for £31 squiddies. Just avoid rip off sites like Amazon and Game.
After only playing for an hour and sitting on the shelf for 18 months I started a new game of Octopath Traveller, and it’s finally hooked me. Sure it has a few issues but the combat is fun. Want to complete bit before Xenoblade drops.
Also doing a lot with Ring Fit. I’m surprised just how good it is.
Will be swapping between Link’s Awakening and Velocity 2X, after a bit of gardening. Now at level 42 and it’s getting tougher achieving those gold medals to finish the game. Never been a fan of AC but all the buzz and how well it’s done is seriously making me consider buying it.
Nintendo are a bit cheeky when it comes to repairs. My Switch had a fault in the bios that caused the fan to run at full pelt at various times. Then after an OS upgrade it ran full pelt 100% of the time.
Sent it for repairs and was diagnosed just within the warranty. Nintendo still tried to charge me £60 until I pointed out the fault was found in the warranty period. They fixed it in the end without charging and I've got another 12 months warranty.
What annoyed me was that the issue was purely software and completely out of my hands.
It depends which country you live in on wheather adult shops are blacked out or not for the sake of the children; some societies don't give a monkeys. It seems Nintendo just gives in to the lowest common denominator, i.e. countries with the most intolerance, for an easy life.
Currently playing the main game and it truly is fantastic. I doubt I'll get this DLC though as my backlog is forever growing. However, I may get this in the future if a physical complete edition releases.
Only Octopath for me. Have it preordered, which is a rare thing for me, with smythstoys for £35. Why people shop with amazon when there are so many cheaper and more reliable places is beyond me.
What a load of waffle. I like Reggie but sometimes he comes out with pointless PR fluff. Just tell us what it is rather than trying to hype it up over a number of months and then ultimately letting everyone down.
Nintendo are my favourite video game company...like ever. But...if the big N was in Sony's position they would do the exact same thing as Sony and word it in a way to suit they're own objective. In other words, its corporate BS that only die hards belief.
It's clear that some of the major players, mainly Japanese, don't want to reveal all their games, secrets and reveals in one E3 conference. Which is fine as there are other events and Nintendo directs throughout the year, but there still needs to be enough news and surprises for the majority of people to get excited about. And unfortunately there wasn't, I thought it was very poor. And the presentation was also limited and cheaply done.
With new IPs some you win, some you lose. The Switch version can be bought for £35, so clearly Nintendo think it's a second tier level IP, but it's still to high for what it is.
It was a poor E3 from Nintendo, in fact it was a poor E3 all round. There were one or two nice treats in there, but when Microsoft has the best conference then you know it's bad.
From the house of Mario I personally would love to see...
Metroid Prime 4 Pikmin 4 New Golden Sun New full on F-Zero New full on Pilotwings Port of Mother 3 New Punch-Out A proper Star Fox sequel Port of Paper Mario: TTYD Port of Mario Maker Fire Emblem Advance Wars Bayonetta 3
Though I suspect outside of the ones we know I'll no doubt be disappointed. I must be the only Nintendo fan with zero interest in Pokemon, Animal Crossing (and sims in general, except the original sim city) and Smash Bros.
This just sucks. No way will I buy digital when it's available physical in other regions. Will get the Japanese version assuming it has the English language, and also with Okami. If not, then it will cheap second hand PS4 versions. Capcom loses.
