If you support people quietly hurting their own quality of life so much that anti-smoking ads offend you, than maybe you should reconsider your priorities. Smoking should be considered taboo for the same reason that suicide, drug usage, and robbery are because all of them hurt the quality of both your life and the lives of others. It just happens to be legal. The fact that people put time and effort into appealing to something that teens and others are familiar with in order to oppose a serious threat should only be a good thing, and I do not understand why anyone would be against it.
I’m not crazy into Zelda, but I’ve been playing Skyward Sword, and it just clicks for me more than BOTW did, and I think it’s all down to what I am doing in a set gaming session.
In Skyward Sword, I am doing things. I can say that I beat this dungeon, or made it to this point in the overworked, or got this heart piece. In BOTW, if I wasn’t beating one of the divine beast quests or doing something crazy important, which is few and far-between when you’re not going for the mammoth task of 100 percent completion, I wasn’t really having fun.
I think it’s something that’s just in me as a gamer, I need to be told what to do somewhat in order to have fun. It’s why no other open-world games stick out to me, and why I can’t get into most nonlinear Metroidvanias such as Hollow Knight, which has an amazing world of characters.
All I know is that one style of game hooks me and makes me happy to play more, while the other only makes me happy when I get to the points where the game pulls out all the stops. A similar thing happened to Pokémon for me, but to a much lesser extent as there is a bit more of a constant structure that keeps me going. I also know that I am in the minority here, but games should appeal to all types of gamers, not just the ones that enjoy roughing it alone.
Please don’t buy a game that you don’t think is worth the money just so fans of a series you barely know about can be kinda happy one day. That being said, it looks fun, and I’ll pick it up down the line.
I don’t have a desire to replay the game, I finished it once, and I think I’ve had just about every secret I could find in the game spoiled for me already. What I do need to do, however, is to finish Age of Calamity. I did enjoy it, but I kinda fell of a little past halfway. I’ve heard there’s some cool plot stuff, so I’ll press on for that. I also just happen to be playing Skyward Sword for the first time, which lines up I suppose.
Imagine aliens in the year 3056 uncovering our music and having to suffer through. “All I Want For Christmas is You.” I guess it deserves the spot, but yikes. In other news, this is another big step for mainstream gaming recognition, so it’s cool.
One thing that I love about Forgotten Land is that it kept everything that made Kirby good in the first place. Usually, when you make such a leap in hardware, you leave so many fans out in the cold. BOTW is a big example of this, but I even hear it with open-world versus course-clear Marios. But I have heard no one complain about this game that was already a Kirby fan. It managed to be a grand, sweeping adventure with some big additions while still being faithful to Kirby’s roots.
I just played Bug Fables last month, so I have my Mario RPG fix for a while, but I’ll keep my eye on this game, it’s difficult to say whether it’ll be good or not.
This makes me even more sad than when cool characters came to the loot boxes… at least then, I had a chance of pulling them, now, I’m either going to have to fork over real world money or grind ridiculously for them...
I may be one of the few people that actually preferred the loot box system, but I do understand while it had to go.
I’ve finally decided to give Metroid Fusion a go, and I think I finally get Metroid. I don’t really like the exploration part of most Metroidvanias, but this game boils it down to a linear progression, with just a bit of exploration, and it finally made me see how fun it could be. Otherwise, me and my brother just started the extra mode of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, and it is suitably difficult.
I’m very hyped to play this, but the fact that you have to earn the music notes means that I probably won’t do that quite yet. I feel like I might replay this game once all the content has dropped, and maybe Sega might do something about some of the technical stuff. Still a great game, and definitely deserving of your time if you haven’t played it.
@MrE Don’t quote me on this bc I can’t remember where I got that info from, but i think I heard that Sega said they’re redoing it in this update roadmap. That’s a good thing, because that was one of the most deflating final bosses I’ve played in a game.
I’ve been rocking the Dry Bones-Biddybugy- Roller Wheel recently, and it’s really gotten me back into the game. It feels so fast thanks to the new buffs. However, you all do realize that we’re going from all-Waluigi lobbies to all-Rosalina lobbies, right?
I have so much nostalgia for the Yoshi series, and the first time playing through the track was a trip. So many references to the games, and the item cloud unlocking a secret area is a nice touch.
I bought the game a couple months ago, and it hasn’t really hooked me in all honesty. I feel like they’re trying to overcomplicate the system to the point where it’s not as fun as the first game. Perhaps I’ll warm up on it as I play more.
As someone that’s grinded on the Star Allies boss rush, I don’t think that extra difficulty would make a Kirby game more fun. They’re great games where I can just turn off my brain and smile at the happy-go-lucky worlds. If that’s not your thing, then fine. But challenge isn’t really Kirby’s thing either, at least unless you’re looking for it in the optional modes, and Kirby games usually deliver on that front. As for this game, the demo had me hooked, and I’m picking this up day 1.
Guard is so underrated. A really unique and interesting tower defense game that no one will ever play because it’s associated with one of Nintendo’s most controversial games of all time. Speaking of Zero, it’s alright. I feel like the level design can be a bit wonky at times, but the control works for the most part, once you get the hang of it, and the story isn’t a direct copy of 64, so it’s an alright game. I’ve also played 64 3D, and I definitely get the hype. A phenomenal game that has cursed the franchise from the day 64 came out.
Respect to the guy that said Hammer Bro, they really deserve a spot. I hate having to choose just one, as I feel literally every character (except for Honey Queen) deserves to make it in, even as an alternate costume of some kind. But my Wii nostalgia compels me to select Funky Kong, one of the best characters ever made.
My list after playing the 6 very briefly: 6: Kuru kuru Kurin (no disrespect, it’s really good) 5: Super Circuit: easily better than Super Mario Kart, idk why people say otherwise 4:Minish Cap (again, absolutely no disrespect, phenomenal game) 3: Warioware Inc: a very vibrant game, and a very gutsy move by Nintendo to make this interesting experience 2 Mario Advance 4: These bonus levels are absolutely fascinating to play, and this is the best Mario 3 has ever controlled. 1: Superstar Saga: I am obsessed with the Mario and Luigi series, and this has all the fun of the fair. I prefer BIS and Dream Team, but this is an easy 3rd place.
@GameOtaku Mario Land 2 and 3 are vastly different games. When you’re marketing a console, you kinda want to have a Mario game on there. As for Alone in the Dark, that’s kind of an exception to the rule, I can’t argue that that’s weird. I still think the selection overall is weird, I’m just trying to get into Nintendo’s head regarding this.
@GameOtaku I honestly think they might be going on a quality basis. Since the Switch’s life span is winding down, I have a feeling that they’re not going to put many more games on the system beyond the ones shown, and they’ll hopefully expand it next console. They’re hitting the Game Boy and GBA’s greatest hits, and Wario Land 3 and Mario Land 2 are the best games in their respective series on Game Boy.
Good night, the whataboutism in this comment section is terrible. We can acknowledge that using your kids as bargaining tools to get easy money on a lawsuit is a horrible practice. We can also acknowledge that Joy-Con Drift has gone down significantly in the past couple years, and can usually be fixed for free. And we can acknowledge that having Joy-Con Drift at all is scammy behavior by Nintendo. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
@D_Munk A game is worth what people are willing to pay. The game becoming popular enough that a Switch port was requested is proof. You may not see the value in it (tbh, I don’t either), but others do, and that means that they’ll play it.
Thinking about this critically it’s obviously a huge deal, but man… that’s a lot of money to put down at one time. I wish they had a system for budget titles.
Yes please. A thousand times, yes. I dunno why people rag on this mode so much, the levels were pretty fun in my opinion, and I really liked the original character designs.
