By this marketing standard, the next game to do crazy in Britain will be called Tactical Egg Analysis.

How silly is it that the UK’s top 30 is dominated by terrible brands that made tone-deaf business decisions!

I feel obligated to report that if you like the WWE brand at all, 2K22 is a huge step up for the series and fun to play. Also, Kirby and the Forgotten Land looks really good, and hopefully good sales of this will drive more 3D platformers from Nintendo.

It’s… fine.
It was an excellent concept, but there is no way that this is the best Mario Kart. One thing I can say Double Dash is the best at is items. The strategy involved with the doubles, as well as special items, makes it the best in that respect. However, there’s also only 16 tracks. I mean, with the exception of Rainbow Road and the Mushroom/Wario tracks, the selection is also pretty mediocre. And, as good as the character roster is, Wii’s and 8’s are objectively better. N64 and DS beat its battle mode. Finally, crucially, it is not the best controlling game. The controls are touchy, which is fine, but DS, Wii, and 8 do this concept much better. I would like a remaster/sequel, but Mario Kart Wii, DS and 8 are much better games and Double Dash probably takes 4th spot, better than the 2D games by default and N64/7 for being somewhat archaic to control.

I’ll get it for my birthday in mid-April, but I’m excited to play it!

This is so precious. Nintendo and Target have a really weird relationship of great advertising, and I just don’t get why it’s specifically Target, but I like it!

I just wanted to say that a critique of a movie’s quality can be completely objective, regardless of the target audience.
For example, if I really enjoyed the original Super Mario Bros. movie because I was a fictional Brooklyn plumber, that’s great! It’s good I could enjoy it for what it was and relate to it. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the movie was terrible on every metric perspective. I haven’t seen this particular movie, and the fan posters look quite nice, but a movie’s quality is almost completely independent of its target audience.

I can locate all the games I own already pretty easily, but with those with an overflow of games, I’m sure it’s great!

This is really cool looking, and kind of reminds me of the more surrealist 2D sections in Mario Odyssey, like the one in Bowser Kingdom.

Linear 3D platformers are probably my favorite game genre. I’m so excited to blast through this game with my little brother, who was hooked on the demo.

From the way people are talking about this, Nintendo should have announced it at E3 as their “one more thing”

Sonic music dominates my playlist despite me not playing most of the games. There’s just so much variety, from rock to techno to orchestra, and it’s all good.

My personal favorites are Undertale/Deltarune, Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Sonic Mania
Technically all of these are cheating, but they’re on Switch, and that’s what counts.

Here’s the deal:
Nintendo is giving us 48 retro courses in this pack for 25 USD. That’s a great deal, and a really cheap price for us starved Mario Kart fans. However, when you get a B-tier price, you’re going to have to expect B-tier content. I don’t think it’s going to matter in the grand scheme of things, as all the tracks look fun to play, and this is only the first 8 courses, but we have to be able to tamper our expectations for these tracks. I’m honestly surprised we got new music for these tracks, I didn’t think Nintendo would put in the effort. But what they’ve done so far shows they at least are not going to directly port over courses from Tour. Some effort is being put in, and that’s what counts.

I’m not gonna click on those. I want to experience the nostalgia of Coconut Mall, Sky Garden, Shroom Ridge and Choco Mountain all to myself once I play it.

It’s fine either way. It’s 8 old Mario Kart courses, I’m not going to be staying up until midnight to play them. It’s cool, but it’s not earth-shattering.

I’m in for that. Sounds like a new idea, and the fact that these guys have actual wrestlers makes me psyched.

From what I’ve played:
Honorable Mention: Lego Jurassic World
I played it on 3DS and it was pretty good, but would probably be last place here. However, I don’t feel like the two versions are the same.
4: Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2
Really good game, but is just a bit too jank at times. The story also just kind of ends, with no real climax or anything. It just can’t escape the shadow of the original.
3: Lego DC Super Villains
Very similar to Marvel Super Heroes 2, but the villain aspect adds a nice bit of flair. The level design is a bit too claustrophobic for my liking, though. Much better story and feel this time around.
2: Lego The Incredibles
This was surprisingly excellent! A new, different IP is quite good for me, and the level design here I though was much improved. The open worlds to explore here reminded me a lot of number 1…
1. Lego Marvel Super Heroes
I don’t think this will ever be topped. Great characters, story, gameplay, simple yet fun level design, actually fun boss fights, and still the best hub world in a Lego game.
I’m really pumped for Skywalker Saga.

Because of the issues, the next game had a really low bar to clear in quality, but thankfully, 22 appears to sail over it, with a re-vamped engine and better single player content. It’s a good foundation for future games as well.

Good on 2K and Visual Concepts for finally turning a corner with WWE2K22. It actually looks good this year. I’m getting this soon. Mario Party also looks like it has some legs for the Switch, don’t be surprised if it becomes a best seller.

Tour doesn’t have any anti-gravity segments, sadly. The max it contains is up to Mario Kart 7, so you can expect gliding and water segments.

This weekend I’ll probably put in some Mario Maker 2 and have fun with that.

Finally I get a chance to play a non-retro F-Zero. This better be worth all the fuss…

I almost exclusively pick the Water-type starters, but I just realized that it might just be out of an obsession for Popplio, the first starter I picked.

GameCube boards would be great, and make this game probably the best Mario Party.

I bought a new Switch for the improved battery life WEEKS before the OLED was announced, but my original model is perfectly functional. Both Joy-Cons are lost to the ages, but the console itself I have no complaints with.

I finished the game in about 70 hours. It was very fun and had a bunch of good moments, but I have no desire to go back to it. I’m not a masochist so I’m not going for Koroks, and the memories were always hard for me to find. I honestly much prefer Age of Calamity.
In regards to the finishing question though, a game is over when you say it’s over. Video games are meant to be played and enjoyed to your desires.

I never really followed the people behind most game companies beyond the most famous, but the quality of Next Level’s output is incredible. Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Punch Out Wii both crack my top 10 games list. I wish this guy all the best.

I haven’t played any Batman games besides the Lego ones, but I still think that 1 and 2 got snubbed.

Eye can’t believe this

This looks quite good. Honestly, I’m pretty interested in a long, choice-filled story that I can properly sit through.

As I’ve said before, this game looks really good, but I’ve gotta wait until next month, as this month belongs to the Booster Course and WWE2K22.

The fact that Deltarune Chapter 2 was released in 2021 sort of clears up the list a little bit.

My picks are Mario Odyssey (the question of wether it’s better than BOTW is up for debate, but what’s not is that it’s much more replayable), Smash Bros Ultimate (the best fighting game ever made), Mario Maker 2 (I my most played game of all time), Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (my favorite of the year, I suppose), and Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury (my favorite video game of all time).
Runners up:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (I like it much more than BOTW, sorry)
Undertale (one of my favorite games of all time, and one that deserves the praise it gets)
Luigi’s Mansion 3 (simply atmospheric perfection, and one of the best looking games on the system)
Animal Crossing:New Horizons (I guess? Or Paper Mario? Maybe 3D All Stars? 2020 was really barren)
Deltarune Chapter 2 (lots of 8/10 games on the system that year, but this is the only game I’d really consider phenomenal:

I’m going to get this next month, but I just have too much on my plate right now. I’m going to try my hardest to resist, but I don’t know if I can…

This is probably my favorite console ever. It’s the first one I’ve ever truly owned, and not just something I asked my parents and randomly got games for. My fondest memories of this machine is probably playing Super Mario Maker 2. Just endless creativity and fun.

As MANY have said, a hardware issue is not the same as a software issue, but that does not in the slightest excuse Nintendo for dragging their feet for this long. Something needs to be done about this, and now.

I’ve been really busy with life stuff, so I haven’t played too much of the demo, but from what I played so far, it looks promising and I’ll probably pick it up down the line. However, March for me is for WWE2K22 and the Booster Course DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

This is quite a nice thing to do.
