It's asking for one which is real, they all are though!

I'm choosing aliens.I don't think Big Foot is real, and I watched about 10 minutes of a TV program about the Loch Ness Monster which persuaded me more that it didn't exist than that it did (although I think the program was intended to do the opposite, which is why I stopped watching it), so I have to choose aliens. I think it is possible they exist, since the universe is so huge

Well I pretty much have to choose Nessie. Otherwise I'm not a true Scot!

I got Splatoon 3 recently so I'm joining the fray.

Bigfoot had his chance. Nine seasons of that stupid show dedicated to finding evidence of him, and they found absolutely nothing.

In some ways it would be strange if all life in the universe was concentrated on our tiny little planet, so if I were answering rationally it would be aliens (in whatever guise they take).

But big Scottish lake monster is more fun so I’m probably going with that!

Nessie has been admitted to be a fake. Big Foot feels unlikely sadly. Aliens though, yeah the universe is huge there’s almost certainly other life out there.

Eh this theme isn't great as it will be completely lopsided. I think which would you LIKE to be real would have been more fun.

Aliens for me. Bigfoot isn't real at all. Just some myth for the desperate. Nessie I don't know much about. Sounds and looks cool but I doubt to be real.

The only sane answer is Nessie. He hasn't been debunked, he's just very good at covering his tracks!

I can prove that one of these options are real.

Last year, I was star gazing in New Mexico, and having weird issues with my telescope. I kept checking the lens but couldn't find an issue. Then this "person" walked up to us all hunched over, covered in a long cloak. (I say "person" in quotations because they were much taller than any normal human I've ever seen)

I was startled by their size and asked if I could help them out with something. I could barely make out their words, but they mentioned something about needing to get back home, and asked if they could have my telescope. Even though it was having problems, I spent a lot of money on this telescope and I wasn't willing to give it up to some stranger. I asked if there was anything else aside from my telescope that I could help them with, and they bent over getting uncomfortably close to my face to the point where I could smell them and they said
"I could use about three fiddy"

I couldn't believe it! It was the Loch Ness monster trying to swindle me out of my money again. I said "Hell no, you go get back to whatever body of water you came from."

Third time this year thats happened.

Nessie is definitely not real. .....but really cool. It's a Dinosaur!

Sasquatch goes by many different names in many different regions. It has a cool ride at Animal Kingdom in Disney World. But my gut instinct is that most stories are fake.

You were THIS close, Nintendo. Ever heard of the Chupacabra? It’s another mythical regional creature like Nessie and Bigfoot, not extraterrestrials that the scientific community largely agrees is possible or probable to exist somewhere in the infinite universe.
Like the deserted island splatfest, you’ve taken what could be a fun thought exercise and added one logical boring option that’s going to run away with it precisely because it’s logical and boring.

@Rika_Yoshitake Also a really good movie that never got as much love and attention as it should have. The idea of classic movie monsters (such as the 50-Foot Woman, The Blob, and a Mothra-like Kaiju) taking on an alien invasion makes for an interesting concept.

And who can resist enjoying Stephen Colbert as the President of the United States playing "Axel F" (the theme from Beverly Hills Cop) to the alien probe as a first contact greeting or screaming like his secretary during the briefing?

Team Alien for me. This universe is too vast for it to not be possible.

I’m away this weekend and left the Switch at home (good excuse to break out the 3DS). But if I did have the Switch I’d have gone for Nessie. Can’t deny my slightly tenuous Scottish roots!

This was the most enjoyable Splatfest of this game for me, and honestly, it just comes down to hanging out with the Squid Sisters. “City of Color” is always great, and “Tomorrow’s Nostalgia Today” is an absolute banger.

Nothing at all against Deep Cut .. Chaos won, Nintendo needed to give us some high concept indie band instead of more idols, and they did a fantastic job at that. But back in Inkipolos I felt like I was part of a cultural celebration instead of in the Splatlands for whatever the Inkling equivalent of Burning Man is.

I can’t wait for Off the Hook to be back!

Aw, darn. Team Alien got the most votes, but we lost it in the clout. And frankly, I'm not surprised. My team probably lost more matches than they won.

But I wasn't able to play a lot of the Splatfest, despite making it to the Ruler rank. Not only did I have work and house chores, my Switch is also on its last leg.

The fan kept making a loud, whining noise, even in Handheld Mode. I was afraid of it overheating. My new Tears of the Kingdom-themed OLED Switch cannot come soon enough.

Had my Switch been working properly, and had I had more time to play, I would have probably participated more in the Splatfest. Here's hoping the next one will take place on one of my extended weekends.

You get items that allow you to customize your equipment for participating, based on the rank you ended the Splatfest with. You gain rank by playing matches. In the words of Marina from Splatoon 2 ... “Congrats, players! We're all winners today!”

The other event, "Big Run" gives rewards based on performance. Pretty brilliant if you ask me; winning doesn't matter much in the PVP event, but in the PVE event where everyone had to work together, it does. Keeps the vibes positive.

Yay. No thanks to me, I played a dozen matches (all vs Aliens, where were the Bigfoots?) and lost all of them

@Dev9417 Wisdom vs Power vs Courage makes the most sense, I imagine the colors would be something like Green(Courage), Red(Power) and Blue(Wisdom)

I imagine it would be pretty evenly split, though Courage would likely have the edge since it's associated with Link.

it's not just Nessie, this whole premises with a bit sketch. Are aliens real? YES. In the context of Splatoon, they absolutely are. Judd is considered an alien and alien studies are totally a thing at Shellendorf.

Sure, they are wrong about Judd; he come from space, but he's originally from the same planet ... but it's an accepted fact in the game world! It just seemed so weird that they were talking about if aliens are real or not, and the results were tallied by an alien.

Awesome! It was my first Splatfest with Splatoon 3. My wife and I played a bunch of it over the weekend as Team Nessie, and Team Alien gave us so much grief (we also got paired up with quite a few people who dropped put and left us hopeless along the way). I'm glad to see that we scraped by though, after all we played.

@HeadPirate seems backwards to other shooters where you are rewarded more for beating other players in PvP than PvE. If you don't get rewarded or beating everyone else what's the point in playing?
Although the last Team based shooter I played online was Gears 4 so I'm way out of date on shooter mechanics.

This splatfest had an insane amount of premaids. More than a half.
I don't believe that people RANDOMLY get together in a team of four with the same backgrounds,gestures and teamplay.

Like I said, you do get rewarded for playing. Your own personal performance factors into that as well, so you always want to be playing your best. But the focus is absolutely not on winning, it's on participating and having a good time.

If that seems backwards from other shooters ... yap, that's exactly how it's supposed to feel. It's a Nintendo IP ... kid and family friendly to the max. The first part of that was eliminating the ultra-competitiveness that can lead to the toxic behavior that's rampant in most competitive shooters. There is no voice or text chat, even within your own party (unless you're a premade group).

That's why the community is so amazing. It attracts players who don't see winning as everything, and invites players to enjoy 100% of their matches ... not just the ones they win.

Great job Team Nessie! Shout-outs to those poor, poor handful of Bigfoots out there who carried their entire team. They’re so elusive, just like the real thing. Hm, real thing? Well, anyway. Gg’s to Aliens. (Even to you Tri-Sloshers, enjoy your buffs while you still got them.)

@AstroTheGamosian The fan is on its way out. That’s what happened to mine. Not much you can do other than ease up on games that stress the system until the OLED comes in.

@Rika_Yoshitake Quite literally Monsters (Nessie) vs Aliens in this splatfest. I lucked out and got 1 real Tricolor early on, the rest was all mirrors. After that I just went to normal battles so I could battle Aliens.

No wonder I didn’t battle against team Bigfoot even once. I hope for the next game they go back to a two person splat host team. I don’t really like the tri color matchups.

@Dev9417 I found the whole weekend to be a total waste of time and effort, only had a handful of real matches against Nessies and of those handful only two were wins. Bigfoot appeared once in standard mode but the tricolour mode was a total bust, every match I played was against fellow aliens so I gave up trying after a while.
Really feels like Nintendo need to fix the 3 team concept, it just wasn't fun to fight against my own team all weekend and you can feel the missing energy when people drop out of matches seemingly on purpose because those matches are totally pointless. I'd rather wait longer to match an opposing team than spend 10 matches playing against my own team, this is the first Fest I've played where I didn't reach "ruler" status because I won so few matches. Constantly losing just isn't fun.

I played Tricolor ONCE and went straight back to pro.
I don't see why they have to have one map for all of tricolor. Rotations would be fine. But instead, we got MakoMart for the Tricolor stage. Mincemeat was for once one of the best stages in a mode.

I thought tri-color was fun and very challenging, even against my own teammates.

I was on team Nessie. I’ve heard people say that team Nessie played too hard, world have rather been playing ranked, took things too seriously. I would actually say that I felt that way about team Aliens. As a result it caused me to play very hard because my Nessie matches were always loosing.

Maybe I have a misunderstanding but I thought Splatfest Pro matches were ranked. Whereas Open were a mix of all skill levels. While playing Pro I was beginning to wonder if A and S ranks had lowered their rank prior to the Splatfest. I’m B+ and I felt like the Pro Matches against team Aliens we’re as if I was playing against rank reset S and A players.

Therefore I was very surprised to hear that team Nessie won.

@Koda1000 Pro only means that they use the Splatfest Power system (from Splatoon 2) for matchmaking. The results of your preliminary first 7 matches will determine your Splatfest rank. So if you did well on your first 7, you’re going to start at a higher rank. Of course, it’s sort of a bell curve now since the game is still new, so what seemed mid rank in Splatoon 2 is now a bit higher with a bigger player base.

Me n my friends played as Bigfoot. Hardly saw any nessie teams in turf, mostly alien. What’s funny tho is this was finally the splatfest where tri colour was fun for me. Which doesn’t match with how everyone else felt about it. But as Bigfoot, we got proper tri colour matches every time. Won a few as defenders and attackers.

@masterLEON Yeah, if I can't get it fixed myself, I'll probably send it in to Nintendo so they can try and fix it. But looking at the back of the Switch itself, it looks like the screwheads are already stripped.

For the record, neither I nor anyone else have even touched those screws ever since I bought it, so I bet even Nintendo would have a hard time getting it open. I know I certainly did, and I have the right kind of screwdriver for it.

But I would get it repaired so I can keep it as a backup system, just in case. I don't ever trade in my systems, especially to GameStop, since they give you pennies to the dollar in trade-in value, regardless of how old it is or what condition it's in.

But I don't plan on playing it at all until the new one comes in. Besides, I bought up over $2000 worth of games for my 3DS and Wii U, so I'll play those in the meantime. Tri Force Heroes or Fire Emblem Awakening aren't gonna beat themselves, after all.

I was on team Bigfoot and knew instantly we were going to lose once I started playing some matches. Either people were trying out new weapons the whole time or just had a bunch of low skill players in turf war.
Where much better in Tricolor battles.
