Hopefully people buy this. Great game, seems like a solid port that required a lot of effort, and they managed to cram the whole thing AND the expansion into a 64GB card. With so many Game Key Card releases, a precedent needs to be set.
@tabris95 Oh man, forgot about that too. Very good example of how video game adaptations used to so often miss the mark in almost every single way. Things are hardly perfect right now for adaptations, but we've come a long way.
He's a good writer and director. I love 28 Days Later, Sunshine, Dredd (apparently he was the real director in that) and Ex Machina. And there was an AMA recently in which he said he was on NG+6 on Elden Ring and playing Shadow of the Erdtree, so dude is actually a fan. So I'm pretty intrigued to see what he does. If this was made 5 years ago, this would've been made with Paul W.S. Anderson, who made those Resident Evil movies. So... have a little faith. We got it good.
It's not very substantial new content, but just having the DLC included makes it a very good deal. It's already a giant, meaty game, and the (excellent) DLC by itself could be a standalone release, it adds 45 more hours or so to the game. Too bad it's a game-key card, but if you haven't played it, I cannot recommend it enough.
Yeah, that's all right. It's what Sony charges for their first party PS4 to PS5. Obviously would prefer if they were free, but I'm used to it at this point. But games like Kirby and the Forgotten Land might be more, right? It was 60 bucks on Switch 1, and the Switch 2 version costs 80.
@Dezzy70 I think so, absolutely, I love gathering resources in BOTW, but they need to nerf the Hearty meals and elixirs. There is almost no point to cooking elaborate meals which require a specific combination of rare ingredients, when you can just throw one Hearty Truffle in the pot and get a Mushroom Skewer that fully heals Link and gives him an extra heart to boot. A good balance, I think, is to only be able to eat them with full heath, but make them increase Link's maximum health for a limited duration, instead of it being a one-hit buff.
I think it's necessary to not make the game too easy and to encourage exploration, but tweaks are needed. My biggest problem with it is how you need to pause in the middle of combat to choose a new weapon. Even with the quick menu, it's intrusive. They should swap to another one automatically, or something. I could live with the quick menu not pausing the game, but I can imagine it being a hassle to some.
I think being able to fix them them in shops or with crafting materials is valid, but it needs to be costly, so people don't abuse the powerful weapons too much. As much as I think the durability system is important for balancing the game, it is kind of a bummer to get that Savage Lynel Crusher with +30 power, knowing its days are numbered. It'd be nice to have a way to not lose such a hard-earned weapon, even at a cost.
I hope so, and please make it backwards compatible with the Switch library. After the Xbox Series and the PS5, I got kinda used to it. It would be a shame to not have my Switch games on the new system.
I'm kinda glad he apparently won't just do his normal voice. If he finds a good voice, and taps into that goofy, likeable energy he had in Parks and Rec and The Lego Movie, I think it can work.
One of the things I love most about Odyssey is that it brought back a real sense of imagination that I feel was missing from the series on the Wii U generation. Super Mario 3D Land and World are great games, don't get me wrong, but I think they, for the most part, played it too safe with the gameplay and the worlds. A significant amount of levels in those could fit in the kinda bland confines of a NSMB game. And that even bled into games like Paper Mario Sticker Star and Mario & Luigi Paper Jam.
I love how wild Odyssey gets, and how it takes a lot of the old Mario level themes, and puts a new spin on them. I realize that some of the different art styles of some of the level aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I really like the variety. The Odyssey-inspired tracks in the next Mario Kart are gonna be awesome.
Played through it five times. I think it's tied with Galaxy 2 as my favorite Mario game, I love it. Really hope it doesn't take too long for Nintendo to announce the next one, if they're making it.
I really can't pick a favorite from the top 3. All phenomenal games. I'd still say 64 is my favorite, because it was the one that got me into gaming and no game has ever felt as revolutionary and magical to me, but I think the top three are better games in general.
@mariomaster96 The first two Paper Mario games did just that. It doesn't take long for enemies to start giving less experience, and that's pretty much the game saying to the player that you don't need to fight as much. Even if a game has a great battle system, it can get stale if it forces you to grind by battling the same enemies over and over, and the first two games did a very good job at making combat fun, essential for progression, and making sure it didn't overstay its welcome.
Speaking for myself, I'm not sure this would've helped. Aside from the boss fights, which I enjoyed, I really don't like the combat in this game, and I'm glad I'm not missing much by avoiding enemies.
I don't get it. I really don't. One of the reasons the first Paper Mario games are beloved is that they give us a different take on the Mario universe, one that has a lot more detail and personality. It's a freaking spin-off, that's part of the appeal.
As for the rest... I mean, it would be better to have a decent post-game at launch, but I'd rather have a good paid post game than to not have one at all, like XY. I'm gonna wait to see if the content is worth the price, though.
Treecko is my boy. The ones I like the least are probably Chikorita and Snivy. Not big on Chesnaught as well, but its shiny form is a lot more appealing for me.
If it is a decent port, I'll double dip. Not only it is the most technically challenging game so far to port to the Switch, they're also going for the 32GB game card, which is commendable. This could set a good precedent.
That's very nice. I really hope they release Bioshock: The Collection for the Switch, I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Also, I personally don't have much interest in it, but I still have no idea why GTA V for the Switch isn't a thing yet. Seems like easy money for me.
It's a very odd situation, but I'm pretty happy, mostly because Retro Studios is involved. Yeah, a lot of people involved in the original Prime trilogy are gone, but Tropical Freeze was amazing and I trust them with Prime 4. Nintendo's transparency was also very refreshing.
It sucks that it's going to take so long for this game to be released, but not gonna lie, I'm REALLY excited for it now that Retro Studios is involved. Have they not been doing anything since Tropical Freeze? Geez. I also really appreciate how honest Nintendo was.
They should really make a remaster of KIU. I got used to how it controls on 3DS, but I understand those who didn't. Maybe releasing it on the Switch, with option for gyro or dual stick controls would finally give it the larger audience it deserves. It has addictive gameplay, a fun story and characters, great music... even the multiplayer is good. It would be a real shame if all that went unappreciated just because it was released on the wrong system.
Great game. It's been a while since I played it, but I finished it three times since launch. Just wish they released some new levels through DLC, but that's quite unlikely at this point. Bring on the sequel, then.
This is my second least favorite 3D Zelda game, but I still think it deserves the hype. I like all the other 3D Zeldas more than OOT (except for Skyward Sword), but when I really think about it, I can point out a bunch of flaws in those games in a way I can't really do to the same extent with OOT. It's a rock-solid, well-rounded package.
The other games have things that attract me more, but I completely understand when people say OOT is the best. I can only imagine how mind blowing it was at the time. I got into the Zelda series late, Twilight Princess was my first one.
Well, I'll see you in Splatoon 3 then, Flounder Heights. Not that there's much to complain, this game has so much content now. I'll probably be playing it quite a bit until the third one comes out.
I find it strange that they kept IVs and EVs, something that you pretty much need to do research to understand, and ditched Abilities and hold items, which you just need to read the ingame explanation to understand.
He looks great, I love all the references to his original appearances. Even DKC3 and DK64 got some love. Now we just need a third Retro Studios DKC with the return of the Kremlings.
Kind of glad the steelbook is not to my liking, because it's going to be insanely expensive for me to get it where I live, and I don't want to be tempted. That controller looks pretty good, though.
That's great. I haven't bought any of their games on Switch yet, because they were pretty cheap on the PS4 by the time they were released on the Switch. But if DOOM Eternal is released on all platforms simultaneously, I'll most likely get the Switch version. I would wait a few months, even.

Got one wrong, the total number of galaxies.

Re: More Than 200 Old Pokémon Are Being Added To Sword And Shield's National Dex
If you needed the expansion pass to have access to these Pokémon at all, it would be shady as hell. But from what I've gathered, you can trade these Pokémon with people who have the pass without you having it yourself, and I assume, you can transfer them from older games with Home. So, that's fine, I think. Still wish all the missing Pokémon were back, but hey, I won't complain about they adding more.

WarioWare Gold, Pokémon White, Smash Ultimate if my friends are willing, and probably Wolfenstein II.
