Re: Check Out This Gorgeous Metroid Prime Visual Feature

HorseRenoir

Incredible. The Prime trilogy is truly a work of art, they're probably some of the most immersive games ever. I will never forget when I played the first Prime and felt like I was lost in this strange, uncharted planet. I'm just gushing right now, I know. Even if the other two games didn't match this level of immersion, they still have some fantastic enviroments and cool backstories to them.

I am a proud owner of Metroid Prime Trilogy. I'm stilI relieved I got one before it became overpriced.

Re: First Footage of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire To Air In Japan This Weekend

HorseRenoir

This is going to be so awesome. Even though FR/LG and HG/SS obviously looked a lot better than the originals, that's nothing compared to the visual upgrade R/S will receive. And I hope we'll get new Mega Evolutions, altough I think on this one we'll only get some for the legendaries, and new ones for other regular Pokémon only on Z.

And really, I hope the soundtrack is not ruined. I love the original, trumpets everywhere and all.

Re: Fresh Super Smash Bros. Screens Show Zero Suit Samus in Action

HorseRenoir

OK, I won't say they're not sexualizing Samus, because they are, but why people just complain about women being sexualized? Captain Falcon will appear with a outfit so tight that you can see his six-pack through it. And I'm sure nobody will complain.

It's the same thing with movies. Last year there was minor controversy over a scene in Star Trek Into Darkness where Carol Marcus pointlessly shows her body. Yeah, pointless and pandering, but nobody said anything about the equally pointless scene in Thor The Dark World where Thor goes shirtless (in this case, armorless) or in Man of Steel, or in the mutiple Twilight movies, etc.

People sexualize people in media, men and women. Like I said before, let's just be grateful it's not to a Soul Calibur degree.

Re: Veronica Mars Star Kristen Bell Reveals Her Former Love for The Nintendo 64

HorseRenoir

I sometimes wonder if I will play games for the rest of my life. I'm getting increasingly busy, but the excitement I feel when something cool is announced and when I play it makes me feel I'll play forever. I hope there's always time for a little gameplay for me.

And I absolutely LOVE Kristen Bell. I hope she gets more good movies to work with, she is very talented. Doesn't hurt she is also adorable in real life.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (Wii U eShop)

HorseRenoir

@MagusDiablo Yes, they have, but Dream Team goes overboard with it. There is a time that Starlow comes and asks if the player knows how to use mushrooms. You choose "No", and she says: "Are you sure? Mushrooms can be tricky." I mean, seriously? The other ones have tutorials and such in the beginning, but the first two hours or so of Dream Team are a huge tutorial. The other ones let the player off to do their thing much earlier. I know there are people who need those tutorials, but there is a balanced way to do it. Dream Team doesn't do it. It's like on Skyward Sword, on the Sandship, you see a door that is very obviously the boss door but Fi has to go and stop the gameplay to say "There's a 99% chance that something important is behind that door" or something. Is much more rewarding when a game teaches the player how to play by actually playing the game and experimenting, not spelling out every single detail.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (Wii U eShop)

HorseRenoir

Absolutely wonderful game, still my favorite Mario & Luigi.

@K-Gamer Can't say I blame you, the beginning of that game is unbearable. Nintendo has to stop the handholding. The game does get really good after a while, though. And none of the other three Mario & Luigi games have that problem.

Re: Nintendo Is Working On The Next Mario Game, But Can't Reveal If It's Coming To 3DS Or Wii U

HorseRenoir

I'm not sick of Mario (except for NSMB) but yeah, I agree with the people clamoring for Star Fox,F-Zero, Metroid, or anything really. Why not make a new Ice Climbers game or something? I kind of understand that they would want to stick to their lead franchises, what with the Wii U not selling well and all, but variety is key, and Nintendo definitely has plenty of franchises to use. Or maybe make a new ambitious, not mini-game franchise. I'm not really upset about it like other people, but it would be nice.

Re: Yoshi, Sheik, and Zero Suit Samus Confirmed as Challengers in Super Smash Bros.

HorseRenoir

I'm OK with ZSS' new look. Sure,it's a bit pandering, but just look at it this way: Captain Falcon is the same. Suit so tight that you can see his six-pack through it. People sexualise things. It's not always about sexism. And really, let's just be thankful it's not to a Soul Calibur degree. Look at Ivy. Not THAT is ridiculous.

And I'm glad Sakurai dumped the transformation system. I hated to have to use Samus when I had to use ZSS' Final Smash. And like I said on other thread, I prefer having more complete. stand alone characters. As long if Sakurai isn't using this as a excuse to make less newcomers.

Re: Video: What Could The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Look Like In HD?

HorseRenoir

@Monkeh I really like SS,but there are some glaring flaws for me. There are few sidequests, much of the second half of the game consists of exploring previous areas and too damn much hand holding. I'm not a fan of the hub-like overworld because it limits the exploring and side quests.

That said, there is a lot to love about the game, and they make me overlook the flaws a bit to enjoy it. A lot of Zelda fans are a fickle bunch. In my opinion, there isn't a flat-out bad game in the main series.

Re: Review: Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64)

HorseRenoir

God,I miss the old Rare. If they made games as good as in the SNES/N64 eras I would gladly buy a Xbox to play them. Alas, not even that. I wonder if I will ever get over Rare's fate,so much talent, some great franchises wasted.
