Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Nintendo Switch File Size Revealed

HorridCrow

Always impressed by Nintendo's size optimisation. They have to though, since both the sd cards and console itself have such limited storage capabilities.

And man, aside from some low-res textures this game looks pretty great. The developers of Pokémon Legends can learn a lot from HAL, and this project in particular.

Re: Video: Nintendo Airs Another Pokémon Legends: Arceus Commercial

HorridCrow

It was unlikely, but for some reason I had hoped they would have upped the graphics and performance since the earlier trailers. I like the concept of this game, but it looks and runs absolutely terrible. Maybe playing it undocked is the only way to make it sort of tolerable, but even then the art style is so disappointingly bland and mediocre.

Re: There's Now Just One Month To Go Until Pokémon Legends Is Out On Switch

HorridCrow

@mr-duster Why are you quoting me on stuff I didn't say? Also, please raise your standards and get some glasses. Over 200 people work on the game, so why does it look like an early 3DS game and runs like ass? Even in the trailers they didn't try to hide the severe framerate drops, low textures, lazy animations etc. They don't care, it will sell either way at full price.

Re: There's Now Just One Month To Go Until Pokémon Legends Is Out On Switch

HorridCrow

@mr-duster In what world doesn't that matter? They rake in billions with this franchise and charge full-price for subpar, low effort games. Let's be honest, what they've showed of Arceus so far looks worse than most indie titles released these days that are made with much smaller teams and budgets. They're sitting on one of the biggest IP's in history, and this is what they create?

Re: Review: Mario Party Superstars - A Party Most Hearty

HorridCrow

@John_Deacon Yeah, Nintendo's sports and Mario Party games have been thoroughly lacking for a while now. Extremely barebone games, yet they charge full price for them even though they obviously lack content.

I don't understand why games like Splatoon 2 and ARMS get expanded for "free" (technically, you pay full price for these as well and they are just as barebones at launch) over time, but they can't seem to do that for others.

Re: Talking Point: How Many Hours Is A 'Short' Game For You?

HorridCrow

I don't think any game under 15 hours should be full priced to be honest. That's what I consider short. I'm willing to look the other way for Nintendo games because they are usually so polished and brilliant in general, but it does leave a bitter taste when they're one of the few asking so much.

Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying

HorridCrow

I'm in the same boat. Had my Switch since launch but it's been breaking down slowly after I've had it for around 2 years... It's definitely the worst quality hardware Nintendo has ever released. I've owned all of their consoles and handhelds up until now, and never had any of these issues before. I'm very careful with my stuff as well.

Re: Feature: Best Wii U Games

HorridCrow

@Heavyarms55 Wh-what? The software library was probably the best thing about the Wii U, hence why so many games get ported to Switch. It failed on pretty much every other front.

Re: Nintendo Is Facing Another Class Action Lawsuit For Joy-Con Drift

HorridCrow

The Switch is probably my favourite Nintendo console/handheld so far, but it's also undeniably the worst quality hardware they have ever released. My 2017 launch Switch's Joy-Con coating started to wear and tear after barely 20 hours of Breath of the Wild, sending it in for a check-up would take weeks so I took it for granted back then.

After warranty:

  • Both Joy-Con sticks have drift now.
  • The SL/SR and lights on the side of both Joy-Con are broken. I never used those buttons before I bought Mario Party and found out the hard way that I had to shell out for a new pair when I bought the game.
  • The Switch is bent, apparently caused by heat while playing docked.
  • The dock has scratched the sides of the screen immensely over time.
  • The SD card slot suddenly broke, after not removing or even touching the card for years. The card won't snap into place anymore.

Just writing this makes me pissed off again, especially since most of these happened JUST after the warranty expired.

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Sold 5.21 Million Copies In Just 12 Days

HorridCrow

I bought it, while not entirely proud of it. Of course I'm happy with the 3 games included, especially considering the graphical upgrades they've been given.

However, it's an extremely cheap effort from Nintendo and they have dared to smack on a 60 euro price tag, on top of not including Galaxy 2.

In combination with it being artificially limited, it's great business for them but leaves a bad taste as a fan...

Re: Pokémon GO Players Spent $8.9 Million On Saturday, The Highest Daily Total Since 2016

HorridCrow

@KingBowser86 Such arrogance. There are obviously millions of players who enjoy Pokemon GO, so who are you to say it's not quality content? Besides, the game is run by Niantic. I doubt the unlikely financial bearings of Pokemon GO have a lot of impact on the franchise. Even if it did, people who are a fan of the franchise should be happy that it is generating so much income.
