@-wc- you're really missing out, FFVII Rebirth is my favorite game of the 2020s so far. I know that sounds ludicrous but it really is that good.

Picked it up in summer of 2019 with Smash Bros and Mario Maker 2, best decision I've ever made. The switch is such an amazing piece of hardware, and this is hardly a hot take at this point but in my opinion it has the best software lineup of any Nintendo console ever. I know we all want a new console and hate on the switch now, but let's not forget all the moments. The smash reveals. The animal crossing fever that swept the world. The hype around tears of the kingdom. And countless more. The switch brought so many people together, and if the next console has even half of those "moments" that the switch had I'll be happy.

@Keegsy I couldn't really tell you exactly, it's just a perfect game. The loop is so satisfying when you're playing it.

Balatro... yes Balatro, my life is Balatro. I apologize to all my other current playthroughs because none of them have been touched since I downloaded Balatro.

The soundtracks were always fire though I give it that haha

@Boo_Boy52 rbi baseball was so bad it wasn't even funny. Was stuck with it until The Show came to switch, what a terrible franchise lol. So absolutely cannot complain about these graphics.

Gears of War is THE most underrated video game franchise in the industry. Put it on switch so more people get access to them.

Whole lot of nothing to be honest. Reaffirming their stance and place in the industry. Hope we see at least some of these on switch.

@Firebird360 that's your fault for going all digital mate, one of the cons with that is your games die with the hardware.

@k8sMum you'd be lucky to get $150 for a used switch, that'll definitely go down when a new console is released. Around the cost of two first party games. This isn't me being insensitive, if you can afford to play games as a hobby you can afford to save up for a little bit in order to buy a console without trading yours in. Places like Gamestop and Best Buy even let you pay over the course of like 3 months if you want to buy it but dont have the money readily available.

@Picola-Wicola This. Just keep your switch and play the games on there that you already own. Why is backwards compatibility such a big deal breaker for people??

@Regulus6891 it's kinda terrible that kids only play Fortnite and Minecraft these days. Don't get me wrong, I love Minecraft, but I fear that "gaming culture" isn't gonna carry over to that generation when all they're playing is the same 2-3 games.

@LadyCharlie developers who know their way around the console are doing fine. No Man's Sky, Red Dead Redemption, Prince of Persia, Nier, and Hogwarts Legacy are just a few of the recent ports that run great on switch. But as soon as a lazy MK1 port hits everyone starts moaning about how the switch can't run anything. I really don't get it.

@LadyCharlie see this is what so many people are saying, but it's ungrounded. Nintendo's success is in their software, not the hardware. If they keep cranking out more bangers for the switch, do we really need a new console?

All the switch 2 talk without a single word from Nintendo is starting to get really annoying. Yes obviously a new console will be released at some point, but do we really need one right now? The Nintendo published games still look and run great, ports that have actual effort put into them look and run great, and the console itself is so easy to play whenever with its portability. The only negative is that it's not the most powerful console, which has never been Nintendo. It's still selling well enough, and I'm sure that after the upcoming direct we will have plenty of software to look forward too as well. Aside from the fun that comes with having a new console, I really don't see why we need one from the big N. If you're mad about ports not running well, go buy a ps5 or Xbox.

@Kayloo nah, Deshawn is mediocre at best. Wander is/was a superstar.

@HotGoomba I play it pretty often on Xbox, I personally love it. Wish it was more popular so games would fill quicker though.

@Kayloo Admittedly that is a genuine flaw, they haven't found a way to win it all yet. That doesn't mean they haven't been a successful team though. And trust me, every Rays fan is sick of those two words. I invested in it man, bought his rookie card and a jersey, ig those are useless now. The one time we get a bonafide star...

This isn't too related but what I really hate is the fact that so many games I'm playing these days, I'm just doing it for the sake of saying I played them. I miss the days where I could focus all my time into one game that I loved and play it through to the end, and then move on to the next one. Now everything is about clearing out backlogs and playing all the "must plays". I've been making more of an effort to just play games I like, and if I don't, dip out of it without feeling guilty. Idk maybe this is just a me problem, but just remember that gaming is a hobby and should be fun, not a chore.

@Kayloo lmao we've made the playoffs every year since 2019 bro, and its not looking like that streak is gonna end anytime soon. We're also the third winningest team since the name and logo change. Sounds like you're the one who doesn't really watch baseball

@Kayloo actually I'm a huge Rays fan, so yes I do watch baseball. Cleveland plays in a joke division yet still fails to do anything within it and they have no real offensive talent other than J-Ram. He's not really cover athlete level though. Kwan and the Naylors are alright, they aren't elite.

Have conflicting feelings about this one, on one hand it's awesome to have another game starring Peach, and it looks pretty creative and outside the box, but on the other hand it doesn't really look like a $60 Nintendo game. It has more of an indie feel to it, which is fine, but considering that this is the only new first party game announced currently I'm expecting more. I hope I'm wrong.

I've held off on buying it, but this will push me over the edge. Hope it's as good as people say it is.

@sketchturner if by some chance you haven't played this game yet, I can confidently say it is worth your time. My favorite indie and is in my top 5 switch games. The platforming is akin to harder 3d Mario, the custimization is very fun, and the story is good enough to carry the gameplay. Please, please check out Blue Fire if you haven't. I really don't understand all the negative reviews for this masterpiece.

@Solomon_Rambling dude it's crazy how mad everyone was, really funny how they thought it'd be a bigger flop than the WiiU (as if). What a great reveal, and and an even greater console!

There were probably 10 more interesting characters than Raru that they could've picked from tears of the kingdom, but happy to see the representation regardless.

I get how much you despise tears of the kingdom, given how you feel you have a moral duty to leave a negative comment on every article mentioning it, but this has nothing to do with tears losing (rightfully imo) to BG3. This article was discussing how the developers, including Anouma, had no time at all to talk about their games, the whole reason the show exists in the first place, and presenting potential solutions. I am at a loss at how that in any way is connected to Zelda losing. But hey haters gonna hate I guess.

@Dragnoran That was one of my favorite Wii games as a kid, really underrated. Id take just a straight port tbh.

In the same interview they also talked about how none of the four main mechanics will be included in future games, which I found really shocking.

What did they expect, look at its release window. Mario, Spiderman, and Alan Wake all released at pretty much the same time (all better, more popular games). Of course it isn't gonna sell well.
