Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Donkey Kong

GoshJosh

@JohnnyMind Hey, like what you like. Kinda hard for me take these polls serious when 9/10 It's either EU or JP even when the American box art is the same as JP.

All this tells me in these polls people favor one region over the other, nomatter if the box art is good or bad. Not every NA box art is good; But for 100% of them to be so bad that EU is superior nomatter what? Eh.

@Jiggies Yeah, during the last poll for th came "Contact" people were like "I choose EU because it reflects whats in game better."

Now this week? I choose EU because reasons.

@johnedwin Well it complicated, but I'll try to break it down.

You see reviewers are not what we call a monolith. What one reviewers hates, the other praises. There is no universal score every reviewer must agree upon at the end.

So, let's use Mitch Vogel here as an example. Vogel wrote a review that clearly outlines what they thought of the game. In their conclusion, Vogel thinks it's a 9/10.

Do you have to accept that score? No. But it's what Vogel thinks it deserves.

@JohnnyMind I wonder sometimes if the users of this site want it to be like a other certain site, in which there's an air of extreme positivity. Said site is toxic with it's good vibes only, that it often leads to infighting whenever the hypocritical nature of it's members rears it's head.

It seems a few users here want any negativity and criticism to not be allowed, while ironically doing the same when it comes to certain topics ans subjects.

As I said in the beginning this is the problem with another certain site and I hope Nintendolife doesn't devolve into it.

@EaglyBird Alright bet then.
Give me 1 comment. Just 1 comment who is threatened by an opinion. I really wanna see this. Point out every comment that matches each word used.

Threatened:

State one's intention to take hostile action against someone in retribution for something done or not done.

Find me those comments.

This is how adults talk. You can have a heated discussion while maintaining civility.

Do you know how this works? You say something, I disagree with it, we debate and talk about why we don't agree.

Re: Random: Sakurai Reckons Both Mario Wonder And Spider-Man 2 Are Masterpieces

GoshJosh

@EaglyBird Do you have any idea what any of those words you used actually mean? None of them apply in this comment section.

No one is ranting, raving, threatened nor attacking. STOP USING WORDS WHERE THEY DO NOT APPLY!

People in this comment section are simply discussing and disagreeing on a medium they enjoy. This is done with sports, movies, art, music, books, whatever. In the real world we call this civil.

You are the only one here being overly sensitive while 99% here are just chill and discussing.

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. Wonder - The Best 2D Mario Since The Super NES

@HammerKirby Not everything has to be revolutionary this is true, but I think it's kinda weird. Nintendo at one point in time was in the top of introducing revolutionary ideas to different genres.

But at this stage, I think others learned from Nintendo, and did things better by contrast (not all of them). In a way, Nintendo was the teacher and many students have surpassed them.

This is just a consequence of being a game changer. You will introduce something new, never done before, and others will learn from it. Learn while also making it better, and adding their own twist to the mix.

@robotoboy20 Wrong is wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right. You can't have it both ways either. Saying it's okay to steal from a big company, but not from indie dev, is trying to have it both ways.

All that does is trying to justify a wrong. What's worse, is stealing isn't going to make your cause any better. All that's going to do is reinforce Nintendo to take tougher measures in the future.

Theft is theft regardless how much you wanna pretend only some of it counts.

Re: Soapbox: TOTK's Ganondorf Is Great, But Zelda Needs To Do More With Its Villain

@-wc- This is the social media age. Things will be spoiled left and right before you know it.

I recall how Sakurai was saddened so many people on youtube spoiled SSBB by posting the entire games story.

In this age, everyone wants to be the first to get the most likes on twitter , the most upvotes on reddit, the most views on youtube, and gaming sites, the most clicks.

It's kinda hard to avoid them now because you can see one even when you weren't actively looking for it, just by a simply browsing a random page.

@sixrings No kidding. Even native switch games that started to struggle, you had people like "That's okay!"

Switch was fine in it's early years, but as first party titles started to demand more of the hardware, it was clear the switch as it stands just isn't capable of keeping up. Not without severe sacrifice, and even then it sometimes struggled.

@EriXz Influencer, youtuber fall under entertainment. Entertainment has the following categories: Movies, TV, Music, and yes Videogames.

It's been agreed that entertainment counts as a job. You have your opinion. Thank you for stating that, and for allowing others to share theirs. Most generous of you.

But hey, you do you. If it's not a real job, then those peeps who spend 5+ years making Zelda and Mario for you to enjoy aren't people with real jobs either.
