@swoose Alot of them haven't. I was kid when the N64 came out and besides a few good games, the library was quite small and there were plenty of duds. The majority of N64 games have not stood the test of time.
@Anachronism Trying to be accurate as possible to appease fans rather than focus on actually making a good original story is why alot of videogame movies end up bad.
Marvel threw out accuracy and created the biggest franchise ever. Maybe game movies should start doing that too.
@Arawn93 Piracy was not the direct end of the PSP. You are giving pirates too much credit. Sony played a hand in it as well.
Couple of things, PSP didn't get killed as in fact had a 9 year run, selling 82mil units. There are many reasons why PSPs downfall came. Sure it's easy for Sony to claim it was 100% due to piracy, but truth is PSP just was a poor handheld.
Memory sticks were too expensive
The library of games was underwhelming
PSP wanted to be a multimedia device which never took off
It was more expensive than a DS
It had a poor battery life
DS was just a better overall deal. It was cheaper, had a better library and was more marketable.
Despite all that, PSP became the 8th best selling console. I don't know what role piracy played, but I'm reluctant to believe it was so powerful it killed the PSP alone.
@Medic_Alert Merchandise is the ultimate goal at the end of the day. Sad. But with that said they do have enough money to where they could if they truly wanted to, diverge and create something unqiue. I wouldn't mind some experimentation with the formula to see what does and doesn't work.
Risks and rewards can sometimes pay off in a big way. BOTW took a risk and changed Zelda in such dramatic fashion that it payed off big time. Becoming the highest selling Zelda game in zelda's entire history.
While playing it safe really means you aren't at risk for any failings, it can lead to serious stagnation. BOTW broke down every zelda game and rebuilt it back up, taking the best parts and tooling them even better.
@nessisonett Fair point. Guess if we really break it down we are guilty of supporting bad practices. Can't be outraged why simultaneously supporting the very thing you are against.
At this point I'm convinced gamers will just take anything. In that case this a good note to devs to not bother making a polished game anymore. As long as it technically "works" that's good enough.
@EriXz Nope, don't worship games that have been under worse conditions. Stopped supporting studios who were terrible and never bought another game from them since. At the end of the day I can forgo any franchise nomatter how much I enjoyed it. And I feel pretty darn good with myself.
@MegaVel91 All i'm getting from these comments are people complaining over nothing. No one has offered anything legit other than they don't want someone to make a fangame of their precious earthbound series out of some stupid fear.
@Tsuchinoko I think it's personally fine. Some people do these things not for fame or money, but simply out of passion and nostalgia. Maybe the team behind this isn't looking for anything more than to expand upon an old series. Not everyone is looking for a profit.
@InvisiBulbasaur I agree with vote with your wallet. If more people did that alot of crap in our lives wouldn't exist. Sadly society has created a place where the more money and fame you have, the more you can get away with because no wants to ruin a good dopamine.
Cancel culture is a gimmick anymore. It's a clever trick. Say something controversial, yell cancel culture and boom you have a base ready to defend you to the death. Celebs know full well a bunch of twitter users are powerless to stop them, but hey whatever works.
@Harmonie Well, the best thing you should do is ignore it. Hollywood is the last place on earth anyone should care rather someone is a positive or negative influence.
Hollywood and to some extent people have proven profit trumps any morals given the fact the former is okay with anything as long as it doesn't tarnish potential revenue , while the latter prefers to wear blinders because that stranger on tv makes them laugh.
Just to clarify im talking about in general from what I've seen over the years.
@AlexHarford Well there are benefits to a remaster. I don’t agree with remastering a game that just came out the year before like on the PlayStation platform, but a remaster is a great way of updating old games and introducing them to newer audiences. A lot of the time it’s just remasters are done lazily as a quick crash grab, but a good remaster done but a company that cares is a good way to breath new life into an old title.
@Meteoroid Exactly, out of the entire Maro lineup, Waluigi was created for one purpose, but outside of that there is nothing else to his character.
As harsh as it is, there is is just nothing there besides him being evil Luigi. Even in the trailer you can see the best moves they could come up with, is from his party game appearances.
Luigi started as a palette swap but evolved into his character with his own set of moves as well as his own series.
Wario started off as an evil Mario, but evolved into an anti-hero with his own series. Both characters have distinct traits that make them, them.
@victordamazio There is no official rule, but we have to be realistic here. Unless Nintendo hands over the brawl series to a director whose a hardcore Waluigi fanatic, the chances are slim to none. Only a small fanbase wants him which doesn't warrant the dev time to include him.
@Thatsalie Bias is always in play when reviewing something, because you are listening to a reviewers own personal take. One can be as objective as possible, but there always be a bias based on personal tastes.
With that said ,the game on metacritic is currently sitting at 76, with the majority of reviews being positive. The game is is a high 7 to a solid 8. The reviewers score lines up just fine next to the others.
@BloodNinja I said it was mediocre and meh. Never assumed it was an outright bad game. I do think for myself which is why I checked reviews all across the board to get a general idea which led to the conclusion it's a mediocre game.
@Old-Red How dare you insult Troy Baker! IMO he should voice every game character ever! Both male and female! He should do voice over's for every movie and tv ad for the rest of time. Not just there either. I want audible to hire him to re-record every book so far and record every book to come.
Then when he gets too old and leaves this world. I want technology to create endless clones of him, so future generations will hear his and only his voice forever.
@duffmmann Actually you wouldn't. It's easy to say things when you don't have an IP , it's another once you become a owner and see it from a new perspective.
Your team of lawyers would give you a full run down of IP laws and why you shouldn't just let people do whatever they choose with your IP.
The keyboard champions here think by reading small passages in the law and watching YouTube videos, they are on the same level as a real lawyer and therefore their opinions should be taken as facts.
@Liam_Doolan Well if it's gltiches using hacked software or emulators, then that's not really an article worth writing. Atleast change the title of it. People are going to read that headline and think the worst.
@EmmatheBest I want you to create a character, I'll then "borrow" said character, go on to make bank from it while you get to sit , watch and get nothing.
After all it's it's fair use and therefore I wouldn't need your permission.

That'll be an extra load off developers backs.
Re: Gallery: Here's What Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Looks Like With Raytracing
@Pigeon Can agree. Fun game but doesn't really do anything new or refreshing in the genre. It's the one Zelda game where I can say one and done.

Re: Anniversary: Zelda: Twilight Princess Is Now 15 Years Old (That's 105 In Wolf Years)
@johnvboy No doubt. If I had rank the games I would put TP and SS at the bottom with Skyward Sword being one level above Twilight princess.
BOTW may be weak in the story telling department but it beats TP and SS in gameplay by miles. TP felt like have-baked ideas while SS was too on rails.
Re: Random: Brie Larson's Back In A New Metroid Dread Instagram Ad

Re: Review: Baldo: The Guardian Owls - Exquisite Ghibli-Esque Art Can't Hide Tortuous Gameplay
@BloodNinja The game is not a great game. mediocre at best. it is what is.
Meta critics scores shows mixed reviews for all platforms. With users scores leaning towards more negative than positive.
Combine every score so far possible and you have yourself a meh game.
