I’ve seen that Japanese fans are really upset about dexit as well. Also for whatever reason they seem to not like Chris Turner’s Pokémon designs. May have something to do with that.

They addressed the hardware hack so fast by releasing an updated model. It’s crazy that it is taking so long to fix Joycon drift which has been happening ever since shortly after launch!

Those are some good quality of life improvements.
Unfortunately they cut way more Pokémon than everyone was expecting. And their (not honest) reasons for it needing to happen have been debunked and seem to not exist.
It will be the first gen I will be skipping. But I hope everyone that is excited for it enjoys it.

That said Sword and Shield aren’t what I was looking for, and will be the first gen I will ever be skipping, sadly.
Not pleased with the designs. Especially the third evo of the starters.
The official number of Pokémon included in the game is MUCH lower than expected. Too many Pokémon have been cut sadly
Exp share is now a forced feature. You can’t turn it off.
Their reasons for the dex cut seem to be dishonest excuses as they have all been debunked. There are Pokémon models from the Switch Let’s Go games that are done and ready to go, and yet they are STILL cut in Sword and Shield. And additionally all past Pokémon have been ported over along with their animations from the 3ds games. Very minimal work has been done in that regard. Yet the cut happened anyway.
It is clear that the dex cut was done deliberately and not because it was unmanageable to include them all.

I usually prefer to know what Pokémon are available before I play a Pokémon game so that I know which ones to go after.
I understand those that want to go in with no spoilers though.

I do try to stay away from story and overworld spoilers though.

It deserves it. This time Sakurai actually added looong requested pipe dream fan favorites which generated a lot of hype (Ridley, King K Rool, Banjo Kazooie).
That plus “everyone is here” has made this out to be the best smash yet!

Had this preordered since early this year! Excited for it!

It looks great! Really wish more 64 games were coming to the Switch.

Glad they are releasing characters so quickly. Banjo and Terry are only about 2 months apart.

I really wish they focused on bringing all of the Pokémon rather than new gimmicks and side stuff gameplay like Pokémon camping and gigantimaxing everything.

@cryptologous they are seemingly reusing all of the animations and models from the 3ds games for the old Pokémon though. I can provide a bunch of comparison footage if you don’t believe me. Gamefreak created future-proofed HD models of the Pokémon for the 3ds Pokémon games that have been shown to be able to port over well to various platforms including mobile phones. The let’s go games have also ported all of the old models, battle, and unused walking animations over from the 3ds.
I think the real reason Gamefreak is doing this, is so that they can withhold and bring back Pokémon each gen to market future games. Gamefreak is notorious for removing loved things from their games and bringing them back years later as new.

Translation: “We are withholding Pokémon so that we can use them to market future games.”

Breaking: Experience Share is reportedly baked into the game. Meaning that the considerable amount of fans that don’t like to use it, can’t turn it off anymore and are forced to use it.

I’m fine with no HMs. But I wish dexit didn’t have to happen, and I wish Gamefreak didn’t have to seemingly lie about the reason for dexit happening to save their butts during the controversey.

@roadrunner343 the issue isn’t that they are reusing animations. The issue is that they are using the animations as the reason for the dex cuts. And they don’t look like they’ve been touched.
Essentially we are getting the cuts for nothing.

Of course people can buy whatever they want. Unfortunately they choose to buy anything with Pokémon slapped on it. But of course anyone has the right to buy anything that they want. Doesn’t mean I agree with it.

I agree that plenty will still buy it.
Really fans should withhold purchasing the games to hold GameFreak accountable for trying to save their butts by LYING about their reasons for cutting Pokémon from the national dex.

Here’s actual footage that they are reusing Pokémon animations for both battle and Pokémon camp, and due to that lied about their reason for cutting Pokémon from the national dex.

Current gens have become an easy cakewalk chore to get through. I wish we could get a hard mode like gen 5 got.

Not really interested in the game after the combination of the dex cut and then GameFreak lying about needing to cut Pokémon for “quality animations,” when it’s since been proven that they are reusing almost every Pokémon animation from the 3ds games.
A lot can’t save it for me after that.

I don’t get why some people say it has been “animefied,”. It looks much closer to the original in design than it does to Xenoblade 2.
Other than better graphics, the only big change is that the colors are more vibrant.

I wish the partnership included a banjo game or two on Switch as well, like what the other characters have given us.

I really wish we would be able to purchase, download, and keep the ones we want rather then have them leased and locked behind a temporary online service.
It kind of sucks that the moment a handheld was able to handle the N64 library, they decided to go the rental route..

I would gladly pay $60 for the Rare library back on a Nintendo console. As a huge rare fan, (even though it won’t be that high) I’d gladly go as high as triple that if I had to.
The portability of it would be more worth it for me. And with all of the quality games it comes with, even $60 is a steal.

I think there is a huge desire for Rare on Nintendo Switch. They’re games were some of the best during the 90s, and I think many (myself included) would love to see that part of Nintendo return.

I would buy more Joycon if drifting wasn’t inevitable. :/

May just get this. Haven’t played it. I’ve heard that super monkey ball 1 and 2 on the GameCube (which I really enjoyed) are the best ones? Anyone know why?

Yeah they seem to be going for goofier teams in recent gens. I don’t know if it’s because the series keeps pandering more and more to kids each gen or what..
