I’m surprised Banjo has never been on the iTunes Store though. Would love to see that too!

I know the virus has caused production issues, but it also probably doesn’t help that Nintendo has been so quiet about this year’s line-up.

I don’t know for sure, it isnt FF6 the most popular 2D one?

I think moreso it’s because Nintendo started focusing on their core fanbase again, instead of how they pandered primarily to non-gamers during the Wii and somewhat Wii U era.

Uh.. the Wii was the main instigator of that stereotype.
It is to this day the most casual family focused Nintendo console. And was in stark contrast to its competitors at the time.

Eh. Not a fan of more monkey Pokémon. I don’t hate them or anything, but it’s an overdone animal when we could have one based off of something more unique and interesting.

The vibes I’m getting from this game is a touch of hospital style animal crossing + Roller Coaster Tycoon.

I’m a completionist too and it can get in the way for some games.
I’d recommend separating in your mind the story as the first thing to complete, and the side quests strictly for postgame if possible. That way in your mind you’re still telling yourself you are completing it. Just in a different order that isn’t overwhelming.
Xenoblade 1 sidequests are more for character development on the side and experience I believe, rather than for special items and stuff.

@Deljo either one is better than nothing. But I actually prefer them being sold individually. The games on the Switch online service are only going to last until the servers are shut down (which eventually happens to all consoles).
I prefer being able to buy and keep the ones I like beyond the online service, and keep those saves beyond that lifespan, rather than temporarily having a list of games on the service, many of which I don’t need or necessarily want, with the crux of it being temporary.

We need more of these N64 games. Come on Nintendo.

For me the only thing of value is cloudsaves.
I’m only interested in classic games if I can purchase and keep them individually and keep the save data. Not interested in a temporary online NESflix service that’s only going to last until the Switch servers are shut down.

If this is true then Disney hates money and good advertising.

So long as we get a Switch Pro upgrade during the generation, then I’m ok with that.

Too bad they killed the virtual console and killed off giving us N64 games when it was finally possible for a portable console to handle them (GameCube too).

I really hope we get to see RareReplay on Switch somewhere down the line.

I’m surprised we haven’t got any of them yet. Wii and Wii U did so well at making classic games available, and now that we have a console that can handle portable N64 and GameCube games, Nintendo drops the ball big time.

A vast majority of them seem to be N64 and GameCube games.
Could this mean anything for the Eshop or classic mini consoles?

Isn’t this game like a Warriors spin-off much like Fire Emblem Warriors or Hyrule Warriors?

I absolutely love three houses and I love Byleth, but I don’t think it was wise of Nintendo to choose her/him, given how it’s common knowledge that the Smash/Nintendo fanbase in general has been repeatedly irked due to the fact that Fire Emblem is overrepresented when compared to almost all other series in Smash.
Literally anyone and everyone could have foreseen this blowing up in their face. But oh well, I’ll greatly enjoy playing as Byleth regardless.

This is wonderful! Hopefully they get successful enough to give Pokémon a run for their money so that they’ll actually be forced to compete and expand!

Atlus is giving us everything except the actual game (Persona 5) at this point.
Joker in Smash, P5 Scramble, Joker in Tokyo Mirage Sessions, but for some reason they won’t let us play the original game that they have been adding spinoffs and cameos to on the Switch.

I thought the article meant “N64 games are now available on the Eshop for $1!” And I got really hyped.

I’ve lost interest in the Pokémon series due to decisions over recent gens, pumping them out too fast which has hurt the games, and refusing to increase their tiny staff.
This announcement is disappointing as I was expecting an actual Nintendo Direct.

I hope this takes off so that Pokémon will get their act together due to competition. Tem Tem already has things going for it over Pokémon. Social online chat options which Pokémon killed off after gen 6, and your creatures following you in the overworld which has also been killed off.

I swear we are creating a type of social prison. Simply say something on a whim that a certain portion of people don’t like, and your life is completely destroyed forever because people will broadcast it all over the internet, and use it as a platform to tear the person down in order to look virtuous in front of their friends and mutuals.

I do not like censorship, but that is a terrible false equivalency.

Can’t say I’m really happy about this. We saw what Blizzard did to save face with the cruel Chinese government because they didn’t want to lose money in the Chinese market. Don’t want China to have any wrongful influence over Nintendo’s decisions sometime in the future.

Well, get used to more and more cut content then (And I don’t just mean the dex).
Fans have done this to themselves.

Yay... now Gamefreak will never care to improve, and will just keep cutting even more content in the future.
Nobody should be praising this.

I don’t blame them. Every cut Pokémon is someone’s favorite.

It saddens me that Switch greatly lacks N64 games.

They reused stuff for parts of the game that they said they would be improving. And those “improvements” were the reason they gave for cutting over half the Pokémon

The term “review bomb” often implies that people are doing it to troll and mess the review score for no other reason than laughs and giggles.
People have legitimate reasons this time, and I agree with the points stated in they’re reviews I have read, because the problems they have listed are present and very disappointing for core fans of the series.

This isn’t a “review bomb” as these have legitimate criticism. The fanbase is understandably pretty upset about these games. Given that over 60% of Pokémon have been cut, moves have been cut, Gamefreak has been proven to have lied for the reasons for these cuts, and technical issues are present, and the games haven’t done much to make up for that.
The fanbase doesn’t seem to agree with the reviewers. IGN’s (way too high) 9.3 rating even has more dislikes than likes.

Love this! I think diamond and pearl have some of the best music in the series!

Fans sending death threats is NOT ok.

Cutting approximately 60% of Pokémon was overdoing it. If you have 10 favorites, then statistically you will lose 6 of them. I’ve seen people say that this all makes Thanos look like a decent guy.
No one was expecting the cuts to be this bad. It doesn’t make sense either as pretty much all past Pokémon models and animations were PORTED from the 3ds games (400 total in Sword and Shield including the new ones). When X and Y had over 700 Pokémon which were mostly made from scratch. Also all Kanto Pokémon models were ready to go from the Let’s Go games, and yet there still are many Kanto Pokémon cut.
They have no excuse. They are likely withholding Pokémon to market future games. Gen 4 has easily the smallest amount of Pokémon included in Sword and Shield, and guess what game is next in line to be remade? They are likely withholding many of those for the sole reason of marketing the remake.

This feels like cherry picking the positive ones, as I’ve seen far more criticizing than posts like this.

Toby Fox is a very talented individual and I’m sure he did a great job. It’s too bad that he was asked to help now that Pokémon is falling under warranted criticism for much less content than previous generations.
