To celebrate the arrival of Banjo-Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, this weekend Nintendo is hosting a special tournament event. It's called "The Ultimate Partnership" and includes fighters who work as a team.

ATTN fighters, a new time-limited #SmashBrosUltimate Tourney Event will be held for 3 days beginning tonight! This event is titled “The Ultimate Partnership” and will feature fighters who work as a group. The further you advance, the better Spirit you’ll win!

As noted above, the further you advance, the better the spirit you'll win. Other than Banjo-Kazooie, expect to encounter other characters such as Duck Hunt Duo, Rosalina & Luma, Ice Climbers and Pokémon Trainer.

No Mario and Luigi team? Nor a Bowser and Bowser Jr. team-up? Oh well.
@NerdyBoutKirby I believe the only characters taking part in this are characters who fight alongside a partner. Like how Luma fights with Rosalina, or how Duck fights with Duckhunt Dog. Or how Kazooie fights with Banjo. (On a side note, I wonder if that means Joker will also be playable in this event since technically he does partner up with his Persona. Though since that is a limited ability, Idk if it would count like the other ones do.)
It'd be fun to see another character like Pokémon Trainer or Pre-Smash 4 Zelda/Sheik be added to the roster as DLC. Maybe something like a Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong/Cranky Kong team similar to the initial plans for Diddy in Brawl.
Mario should be a part of this....even though Cappy doesn't really do anything in this game. lol

I wish the partnership included a banjo game or two on Switch as well, like what the other characters have given us.

Was thinking about this today and ended up coming to the conclusion this may end up coming to fruition via potential GBA/N64 games with the Switch online service. Not the most ideal solution, but could be something.
Just a thought.

I only have 70 or so left to go and those are basically going through classic mode with every fighter, plus Mew, so doubt there will be much point for me.
