This is how you make a game. You give the game enough time for the devs to be happy with the finished product. Sure, it might not be the most profitable approach, but it really creates a stronger long term fanbase.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE That happens quite a lot. Critics often come to a conclusion which doesn't line up with general opinion- take PUBG for example. Polygon gave it a 10/10, despite being barely playable on Xbox and still a buggy mess on PC. Granted, it's getting better, but most people would agree that a game which charges $30 should run well. Another example is Skyward Sword- it was critically acclaimed, and yet many fans regard it as a long tutorial. I personally enjoy the strong attention to the story, but most people prefer less emphasis on story in Zelda games.
The problem with the idea that Shrines can be completed in 10 minutes is that most can be completed in closer to 2. I'm sure it's the case for many people- I once solved a Shrine after 5 seconds and didn't take long to enact the solution.
@HeroOfCybertron I think it's unlikely, but I'm not entirely sure. The Wii U version just had you using the Gamepad, and the TV just showed whatever was happening. (Incidentally, the 3DS/Wii U Version is the one game that I've reviewed for Nintendo Life)
@Spoony_Tech Trust me, the graphics will not be better on this version. A lot of games don't look graphically demanding, but there's a lot going on behind the scenes that makes it harder to run on the Switch.
Nintendo publicly acknowledging the different mistakes they made with the Wii U shows that they are certainly learning from it. The Switch's current success is testament to that.
Part of the problem is that so many people buy Fifa. if fewer people bought Fifa in total, but the same number bought it on the Switch, the Switch would account for a greater percentage of sales, and EA might stop making Fifa games. That would be a double wammy.
@BraveFencerZan Resolution has very little to do with file size. Having lots of audio files, especially uncompressed audio, takes up a lot of space. Since that game has so many voice recordings for the commentary and pre-game show stuff, that bumps up the file size considerably.
@NCChris Of course. But legally, he wouldn't be responsible for those links anyway. Nintendo would have to try to shut them down one by one, which is really not worth their time.
Meh. I wouldn't say decisions carry that much weight to them. You could murder a whole town and stroll in a few days later without the guards batting an eyelid.
@JJ286 I'm fairly certain that assets made for X were designed to take advantage of a more powerful system anyway. When people have made videos on playing X in 4K using CEMU, they noted that things like the moon had a lot more detail than was actually visible when playing on Wii U. Reusing assets is in no way a bad thing. Maybe they'll add things like dynamic lighting, so that you can see the shadows change as the Titans move.
My main annoyance with X's game engine was the dialogue animation things. They felt quite awkward and clunky, like a Wii game. I hope they update that, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
@JJ286 At the moment it's probably the same as XCX. I reckon for the actual release it'll be upgraded to 900p, maybe with improved visuals. Personally, I think the only thing 'wrong' with XCX's graphics was the resolution really. Other than that, it looked incredible. Maybe some anti-aliasing would be welcome.
I don't have a Switch yet, but I hope to get one very soon. My main game this year for it will be Xenoblade 2. I've been playing BotW on the Wii U, but I think I have higher hopes for Xenoblade. I didn't think it would be that way...

What's the point of an HD remaster of an HD game? Nevermind; it's a pretty fun game. I picked it up for under £3 on Steam.

720p for a game like that is pretty impressive for the Switch. I just wonder how far below it will go when docked.
