@Indielink Not really. It hasn't been marketed as such, and we haven't seen any gameplay. All we have seen is what is most likely PC footage overlayed on a Switch screen. It is most likely a half step between the original and Special edition, in order to provide the most stable frame rate at 1080p.

@gatorboi352 Skyrim will easily run at 1080p on the Switch, since it's not the Remaster. My computer, running integrated graphics, is not far off that, despite being a lot less powerful.

That's a relief. We'll need Digital Foundry to check that the frame rate is solid

Actually, Microsoft is making players use Xbox Live on other platforms for cross play. I can sympathise with Sony for not wanting to do that, from a business point of view.

I was always fascinated by Teletext. My mum used to use it to check the weather, and I was really disappointed when it was no longer supported.

Hey, you could get a new game, like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!...oh no, it's just a port. Well what about Street Fighter tw- nope, nevermind. How about Mario Kart 7... No that's not new either. Surely there must be at least one new game. Breath of the Wild? No. GTA V? No. Super Mario Maker for 3DS? No. 1-2-Switch? Nope. Pokémon Sun/Moon? Nope. I give up.

I think it's very possible, but depending on the number of games coming to out this year, Nintendo might want to keep it in store for next year.

I can't wait! Well... I can. I don't have a Switch yet.

Stocks hold very little meaning really. A lot of those investors will just as quickly jump off if they see the smallest chance that the Switch could go wrong. But hey, I think we can call this one a victory for now.

@Nintendoforlife I don't think it's a matter of whether or not they could, but whether they would. They probably have time restraints that make mean that less time can be spent on optimisation.

Meh. Also, why is this trailer not a 60FPS? Does that mean the game only runs at 30?

I spent ages playing on my DS Lite. I have 200 hours in Dragon Quest IX, many of which were spent with my cousin, exploring the extensive world and the deadly grottoes. Good times.

Nice. It's just a shame that Splatoon 2 is running at 720p. Surely, considering the Wii U's performance, as well as ARMS and MK8 Deluxe, Splatoon should definitely run at a higher resolution on the Switch. Or at least have some anti-aliasing. It has some really noticeable aliasing when it the battle arenas are shown at the start of a match.

@crimsontadpoles That's my situation too. The one good thing about it is that I haven't played Breath of the Wild yet, which means I have a whole, massive world to explore, which many people have already scoured. That's how I comfort myself with it anyway. Plus I can do a bit of backlog busting (i.e having another great adventure in Xenoblade Chronicles, in preparation for Xenoblade 2)

We'll have to see. I think it's quite interesting, but I have no intention of actually buying it myself.

I probably won't get either of these games. I tried Splatoon, but it wasn't for me. ARMS looks cool too, but again, not for me.

The stage is set for this one to do very well. Assuming it launches around November/December, the Switch will have a fairly large install base by then (hopefully), and growing quickly, compared to the Wii U's still slightly larger but not so quickly growing install base. Also, the series is now pretty well established and is growing in popularity. That means that the disadvantages Xenoblade faced on the Wii and Xenoblade X on the Wii U have been addressed, and his should therefore be the best selling Xenoblade game so far, assuming the game itself is good enough.

I couldn't care less about the games, but it would be good for the Switch.

I might have a Switch by then, so a testfire would be nice. But I probably won't get Splatoon this time around. It's not for me.

@ACK Yeah, i read up on it after reading the article. Save file restrictions and the like.

What's with the world size limit on consoles? Even mobile has infinite worlds, so surely a significantly more powerful console should easily be able to do so too.

The Switch really couldn't be any smaller. The motherboard is already packed as it is, and the only way to reduce size would be to use a smaller battery, which isn't really a good idea considering the Switch's already short battery life. A Switch Pro is more likely, with a 7" screen and a more energy efficient X2 chip, as well as a beefier battery.

I hope by the time I can afford a Switch it's stable enough that I won't have to keep it supported on my incredibly stable 3DS XL
