There's a good chance that we'll hear about the Switch Pro (or whatever it's called) today, and, as is so often the case, we're seeing other 'brands' getting in on the action to give themselves a little social media boost.

Nintendo's E3 Direct happens later today, and while the company has stressed that it will be focused on software and not hardware, that doesn't mean the company isn't going to surprise us with "one more thing" – just as it did when the New Nintendo 3DS was shadow-dropped during a Japanese Direct broadcast.

Is everybody else looking forward to sharing a Coke with disappointment in 7 hours time?
I feel like everyone collectively "are we there yet??"-ed Nintendo about the Pro so many times that the company up and fulfilled every parent's dream of actually turning the car around and going right back home just to punish us. Maybe we'll get a glimpse of it next E3 if we've practiced our manners in the meantime.

Honestly, we all are probably already way too hyped again, so it will turn into a big disappointment.
Remember, Japan is still in a lockdown due to covid, and they have regulations for more than a year already... I’m gladly proven wrong, but I don’t see them announce much tonight to be honest. I mean, look at the Japanese Square Enix’s and Capcom’s presentations. Not much new stuff if any at all.
The real pro switch is moving from Coke to Pepsi.
@Friendly To be fair, aside from the Switch Pro, I don't think many people are looking for anything new. The main things I see are a new trailer and date for BotW2, a new trailer for MP4, more Pokemon D/P information, a new Smash fighter. At least one of these won't happen, probably a new MP4 trailer, so there will be some disappointment but I think Ninty have this E3 all sewn up. Of course they have been known to drop the ball in the past so we'll find out in a short few hours.

If a Pro gets announced awesome, but I’m not hyped to the point of expecting it. This year’s E3 is a meh-fest. 90% just reiterating already announced stuff, and showing off near releases…. Or confirming stuff in development not set to release for 2 years.
I do hope for mid gen upgrade or Switch 2.0 within the next 2-3 years to help keep up with next gen. But honestly I’m just hoping they announce Zelda WW/Twilight ports.
That and I hope Konami/Nintendo bring the GBA/DS Castlevanias to this gen some how. Either NSO, or another Castlevania Collection. Bring the Rondo and SOTN collection while they’re at it!

I do not believe the Switch Pro is real, and I refuse to acknowledge its existence until Nintendo proves its real. I seriously doubt the Switch is getting a successor any time soon, I am pretty positive that Nintendo will expand its lifetime for 10+ years just like they did with the Nintendo DS & 3DS
@Dm9982 To be fair, which E3 wasn't 90% reiterating announced stuff, giving updates on said releases, and confirming stuff not set to release for a year or so? It's how the game industry works, you hype whats coming even though us as fans know it's coming, and then show new things that you will be hyping next year when its release approaches. It's the circle of gaming.

Well, E3 was hyped this Year because of the Pandemic, but the Times when it was like Christmas to open up the Presents in Form of Trailers (Gametrailers) is sadly over.
The real big Things are presented in own Shows during the Year without Competition on the Stage.
Lmao I can't wait for the Christmas commercials where Santa clause is going around searching for the rumoured Coca Cola Pro only to not find it ever.
@francofola true, I just mean it feels like there’s a huge gap of nothing announced between like Nov 2021 and Nov 2022…. Typically in past E3’s we’ve had more info on games for the holiday season / early following year. This year it was like “here’s what’s coming in next few weeks, and here’s what’s coming late next year….”
But to be completely fair - E3 is a paltry event compared to what it once was. I’m truly surprised they are still holding it….
Unless Nintendo give us the mother of all surprises, there won't be any mention of Switch Pro. Since nothing was announced before today, nothing will be said during the E3 direct. I think everyone's been riding on speculation and expectation but forgetting that Nintendo dance to their own beat.
@Dm9982 yeah that seems fair. I can't think of games releasing within the dates you mention except from Pokemon Legends Arceus. We'll see what Nintendo has in store, hopefully they'll be able to fill that gap!
Regarding E3, yeah, it's a weird event now specially since Sony backed out. But comparing last year where we didn't have one, it's nice to be able to get hyped for the presentations, so I think I would very much like something like it to continue. I think this year it wasn't the major overhaul they promised, the portal is a joke.

@Chibi_Manny I think people are more thinking that there will be an updated Switch, not a brand new console - more like the 3DS to the New 3DS, or the PS4 to PS4 Pro etc. It's hard to know what they are gonna do, as they don't update their home consoles like Sony do (I can only think of the Wii getting a new version), but have made new versions of their handhelds all the time, as the Switch is technically both, it's hard to see which route they will take.
Still, I'm not sure they will announce this year, I think if we were living in a normal world, they may have, but as everything is messed up right now... I'm not so sure.

@WesY2K Yeah I guess I missed some good stuff on Limited Run, as I assumed it was going to be Physical Only stuff, and did not think it would involve any thing from Castlevania - just stuff I already have digital, aka indies.
I do have the games already on Vita, but still would LOVE to see the GBA/DS ones come back in collection as they haven’t seen daylight since their original releases (unless they released on mobile or somethin that I missed.)
I doubt Nintendo will share anything about next hardware. Main reason being the shortages at the moment. But if Nintendo have had the hardware ready for a long time and have been stockpiling millions of them just in case of a scenario like this then there's a chance I guess.
However I doubt they have done that, and so the semiconductor factories will already be busy making chips for other companies and they are running at full capacity.
So yeah they could show it off and say "Hey! This is what it looks like! It will be outdated once you can get your hands on it! Enjoy"

I am not overly eager to get a switch pro imminently! As long as great games keep coming my Switch is perfect for my needs. The moment a pro is announced and released it means I am left with the dilemma of shelling out hundreds of pounds again!
I want to keep enjoying my switch and the games coming before leaping onto a new system.
This means I will not be disappointed at no mention of a Pro at E3 or for the foreseeable future.
I don't think it's happening today. I know Nintendo will lie about this stuff, but it makes sense to lie when asked about the existence of upcoming hardware revisions as that could hurt sales of the current models. They didn't need to say this Direct would be all about software. Because they said that, I don't believe we see the Switch revision today.
I am looking forward to picking up Samus Returns for the switch.
If anything we will get an announcement after E3, just like the 3DS XL.

@Spider-Kev Yeah I can't stick by a company that tries to demonize an entire race of people, that's something I refuse to support no matter who is under attack.
I'm just hyped that they're releasing Metroid Dread and SMT V this year. I wish we can have a Switch Pro (hell, I'd buy it the moment it launches) but at the same time I've already got my dose of disappointment this E3 (no Metroid Prime 4 trailer or new news, no Bayonetta 3 news).
