Re: Ori and the Blind Forest Director Criticises Secrecy and Lack of Access to NX Devkits

EngieBengie

It's crazy how clueless fanboys are on this site. His frustration is very much justified and deserves to be expressed. It's irresponsible, idiotic and downright backwards that these developers aren't given a clue of what they are developing for.

Frankly, I see no reason to think he is wrong or that he is entitled like Nintendo's fanboys like throw around at anyone and everyone who criticizes Nintendo.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Z Creator Launches New Patreon Page After Nintendo Takedown

EngieBengie

Not trying to say that making money off of someone's IP is okay but as someone who was a huge fan of the series, I am getting irritated that Nintendo keeps attacking their fans like that and attacking things that I like. It started with the Let's Plays and now we have this.

It's a series you watch, crossed over with the Sonic Universe with the style of DBZ. It's not like Nintendo was going to do that to begin with.

The natural argument to damage control these actions is "But it's Nintendo's right". It is. Doesn't mean it is the right thing to do or the preferable option, it just means they CAN do that.
More and more Nintendo disappoints me and with them continuing to make mistakes such as this and not showing any signs of learning, I'm just about done with this company.

But yeah, should not make a patreon for a series using a pre existing IP.

Re: Rumour: Intelligent Systems Is Working On New Paper Mario For Wii U

EngieBengie

Haven't had the opportunity to play the one on 64, Thousand Year Doors is one of the top contenders for my favorite games of all time, Super Paper Mario is an underrated gem with an unappreciated cast of characters and a great story and Sticker Stars... much rather not play it. Please be like the first two if true. Super Paper Mario was a deviation, a good one, and so was Sticker Stars but it's time to go back to its roots.

Re: Talking Point: Splatoon Began With an Early Access Approach, and Has Provided a Valuable Lesson

EngieBengie

When games like CS:GO require good communication to be competent at the game, Splatoon doesn't offer much of an option for this. It's a different take on the shooter genre but its lack of voice chat sets back its tactical and strategic potential back. The whole 2 maps a day thing is very weird. In CS:GO, if I want to play Inferno, I just do. If I want Mirage, I just play it. Not sure if it still is like that but it's a bit dumb in comparison.

Appreciate the attempt at making a new IP and encourage them to continue, but there are things that need to be fixed.

Re: Talking Point: Considering amiibo Features and the Reality of 'Physical DLC'

EngieBengie

Also, Twilight Princess is not worth the full $60 bucks that these idiots are charging you. No, I do not care if you haven't played the game, no I do not care if you think it's the best game ever. It's an upscaled version of TP and that requires little to no effort to make.

"Bu-but Nintendo is a business!" says the fanboy who likes to bash EA and Ubisoft when they make money grubbing DLC and who likes to talk about how many BILLIONS Nintendo has in the bank. This game is a good $20 all content include and that is being generous. Sony made a better offer than this with their upscaled re-releases of games like Jak and Daxter or Ratchet and Clank. Good price for 3 great games.

Nintendo has stooped so low this generation, it's pathetic. There is no reason for me to be excited about them making money because at the end of the day, they don't use it for anything great. This was the company I was expecting would resist making shady business like that. Looks like I was wrong. They are no different that EA and Ubisoft, just a bunch of money hungry businessmen who look at their fan's wallets. I doubt I want to continue as a Nintendo fan.

Re: Talking Point: Considering amiibo Features and the Reality of 'Physical DLC'

EngieBengie

I hate Amiibos. They're intrusive toys which little by little will lock content away. But hey, it's Nintendo making which makes it totally okay, right? I don't get how we can jump on capcom for what they did to MvC3 and not Nintendo. Sure in the beginning, it wasn't all that bad but by accepting them more and more, we accept the anti-consumer decisions that go along with them. I honestly think they're just better off making them as what they are and what people truly buy them for: Figurines. Nothing more, nothing less. Stay far away from my games.

Re: Feature: The Poor Career Choice of Super Smash Bros. Professionals

EngieBengie

@MrRight What's /v/ to begin with? You haven't come up with a rebuttal to what I said and you're shitting on people for having an opinion, I come in defending these people and I'm supposedly the angry one. Between you and me, we know who's seething with rage and you know it's not me, I'm not the one calling people names for having an opinion.

Re: Feature: The Poor Career Choice of Super Smash Bros. Professionals

EngieBengie

@DekuOnion Because Smash is a fighting game which is competitive, add to that a big skill ceiling and that's why it is as big as it is. Mario Kart has no competitive viability due to randomness being so deeply rooted to the game's core and randomness has absolutely no place in a competitive environment. Pikmin is largely a single-player experience, not a multiplayer one. Codename STEAM, same reason or maybe the game just isn't as good.

Re: Feature: The Poor Career Choice of Super Smash Bros. Professionals

EngieBengie

@MrRight There's nothing sad here, well, besides you. Judging people for what they like to watch or play, you're almost like a granny with this sort of attitude. But yeah, people pay to watch a Dota 2 tournament. What gives? They enjoy it, they pay for it and that's what they want to do which brings me to the question: Who are you to judge?

Also, Melee fans aren't forced to move on to an inferior game if they don't want to. To me, Melee is a vastly superior game than Brawl and Smash 4 combined due to its great mechanics and this opinion is shared by most who keep playing Melee for all these years. Melee doesn't grow much more due to its age and its scarcity not due to its "cancerous littles shits" like you say. The only person I see fitting that nice little name you gave is you because you can't handle or even fathom that people don't like the newer Smash games. Hell, Smash 4 may be the most disappointing and unfun game I played in a while. What are you going to do about that?

Re: Talking Point: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS Set a Standard That'll Be Tough to Follow

EngieBengie

@Chaoz I never said it was about single player. But when you put single player modes in the game, despite it not being primarily single player, it DOES NOT excuse the flaws in these modes. Flaws are flaws and they should not be tolerated. And speak for yourself, I loved the single player modes in Melee and the sense of completion that comes with it as you complete the modes. Now I do agree that gameplay, balance and character diversity is important. However Smash4 STILL doesn't do anything for characters like jigglypuff. Like you pull off rest successfully, why the hell do you not recover from it faster if you Rest successfully? Fan favorites like Marth are garbage. He was one of the most fun characters to use in Melee and pretty much the entire series, come Sm4sh and everything that made Marth great is gone. Smash4 needs to get closer to Melee than Brawl if it wants to live a long life.

And you shouldn't be glad a developer rushes anything. Heck, he could've removed Smash Tour and focused on making the other modes good.

Re: Talking Point: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS Set a Standard That'll Be Tough to Follow

EngieBengie

@PokeMelon123 Classic is abysmal. It's RNG hell to its absolute fullest and flaws such as overpowered stage hazards and overpowered items become a very big problem considering there are achievements that require you to beat it at 9.0 intensity with losing a stock. No item switch to be seen, a basic feature that should've been implemented years ago.

Event was bad. You cannot claim to be challenging when the only way to challenge the player is to throw 3 characters at him with high handicap. That is NOT how you challenge a player. Like that Ganon one. nothing stood out and if it did, it's all for the wrong reasons.

Wario can jump lol. This game has absolutely no sense of weight. Getting back on stage is a given already with pretty much every recovery taking you back on stage from any angle, plus the 45 degree angle which offers you a boost PLUS ledge trumping, PLUS bigger ledge snaps. What is the point of making characters floaty? None. All the floatiness does is get in the way of good combo set-ups and that's it.

Whatever effort it took, it clearly didn't go to the single player modes. I find Rivals of Aether to be a more fun and enjoyable experience despite being much less bigger and only having 7 characters. Yes, it's my opinion but this game disappointed me hard. Nothing but frustration come of it.

Re: Talking Point: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS Set a Standard That'll Be Tough to Follow

EngieBengie

-Classic Mode is horrendous and is what happens when you put all the bad aspects of Smash into 1 mode

-Event mode is trash. 1vs3 galore rather than events with a very questionable definition of what challenge is

-All-star mode: WAKE UP. We have over 50 characters and all you give us is 2 freaking heart containers, 1 fairy bottle, 1 maxim tomato which is even worse than 3 hearts. Not to mention 1vs3 all the way in this mode. Not even friendly fire enabled for the CPUs what the hell!

-Smash Tour: Who asked for this!? It's an rng infested mode where nothing makes sense and the winner is f*** all because randomness is so fun, right?

-Online is still laggy, even with the LAN adapter.

-Does Smash 4 take place on the moon? My character doesn't have any weight to it.

-Why is nothing being done about how spammable air dodges are?

Smash 4 didn't set any standard. It only introduced a bigger roster, while managing to become a more shallow game than Brawl mechanically. Its single player modes are the absolute worst in the series.

Re: Take a Look at Nintendo's Game Awards 2015 Nominees

EngieBengie

@MrGuinea A multiplayer shooter game with no voice chat is a bad thing. No twisting, no dodging it. Having played CS:GO competitively, I can't imagine how much of a mess planning strategies would be without voice chat. I owe a lot of my clutches in the game to people who use Voice chat.

Re: Take a Look at Nintendo's Game Awards 2015 Nominees

EngieBengie

@MrGuinea Splatoon has a lot of problems, some of which are basic things that don't happen in other shooters. The opposite can be said about it. Just because it's sort of a first for Nintendo doesn't mean it is deserving of winning over games that do feature better shooter mechanics and actual voice chat.
