Re: Developer Survey Reveals Worrying Lack Of Interest In Nintendo Switch

EngieBengie

3% is pretty pathetic. Doesn't matter if 3% means 135, the number is low as hell and most importantly, it shows Nintendo's ineptitude to better relationships with devs. While most are defending and damage controlling this pathetic number, few seem to point out that the Switch is not gonna get most of the major AAA releases and the latest games from the industry's best devs out there. No "ifs", no "buts", you just leave your bias at the door and look at all the GOTY contenders from the last couple of years and you'll often see games that do not come to Nintendo. These are games that are well received by critics and fans and no amount of fanboy bias changes the fact that they are good games.

Also, LOL at people saying stuff like "but these numbers are just bad steam greenlight games" But you know, a lot of good games make up these numbers for PC too! Bet you haven't thought about that. And because the Switch only has like 135 devs working, doesn't mean that because it's a low number that all of them are good. After all, games like Meme Run made it to the Wii U eShop. Just pointing out the blatant fanboy rose-tinted glasses arguments that are common on this thread where people try to make PC, PS4, XBOX ONE numbers look bad and the Nintendo numbers look good. More games come to your system, more GOOD games come to your system, simple as that. The bad ones you just ignore. I doubt it's hard to understand this concept.

Re: Nintendo Will Replace Your Dead Switch Battery, At A Cost

EngieBengie

Man, they are doing everything in their power to make the Switch look bad. I'll be kind and say that maybe it's someone internally sabotaging Nintendo instead of saying it's the backwards fossils at the top who have no clue what they're doing. Not being able to change batteries is a pretty bad thing in the long run.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild And Pokémon GO Win At The Game Awards 2016

EngieBengie

Darn, I missed the show. Was it good? Anyways, I heard Overwatch won GOTY, which makes me happy as it's one of the few games from this generation that actually met and surpassed my expectations. Normally I have a game that I anticipate a lot, play it, forget about it and move on. Overwatch, however, I'm still playing and it's only natural since it's taking after one of my favorite games of all time, Team Fortress 2. Congrats Blizz!

Re: Fan-Made Title Pokémon Uranium Is Officially Dead

EngieBengie

@Slim1999 You must be the special one here, Pokemon Uranium is not monetized which makes your argument idiotic and non applicable to begin with. And while I'm at it, the team behind it DID design their own Pokémon so the whole "even though I didn't do your job" is also non applicable. Do Nintendo fanboys leave their brains in the fridge or something?

Re: Fan-Made Title Pokémon Uranium Is Officially Dead

EngieBengie

This comment section is cancer as usual. Considering how Valve treats Fan made project and mods or even SEGA for that matter considering Sonic Mania, there is simply no excuse for Nintendo. There are more choices than C&D'ing a fan made project as Valve and SEGA clearly show us. Nintendo took the bully way around as they usually do given their arrogant and bloated headed history shows. That's how you lose respect and your fans. "But it's their IP!" LOL, you don't see Valve killing fan projects when they appear do you? Where are they at now? Still alive and healthy. Nintendo are just being idiots, nothing more nothing less.

Re: Risa Tabata Talks Paper Mario's New Focus on Puzzle-Solving

EngieBengie

This is simply going to follow the same exact trend we've seen with Star Fox Zero and "Metroid" Prime Federation Force. The fanboys will damage control by saying "It's not out yet", the game releases and it's a massive disappointment. This repetitive trend of Nintendo not listening to fans has brought nothing but disappointment and bad sales. Nintendo, listen to your loyal fans for once. All arguments I've seen against fans demanding what they want were poorly structured at best and mind mindbogglingly ignorant at worst. Sony's been listening to what fans want and it works. I've yet to see a company getting something negative out of it, meanwhile Nintendo, arrogant as they've ever been, still think they know their fanbase which couldn't be further from the truth. The NX is their last chance and I honestly doubt they will succeed with it.

Re: Risa Tabata Talks Paper Mario's New Focus on Puzzle-Solving

EngieBengie

@Anti-Matter "Hurr durr, Paper Mario isn't dead at all because its new entry is coming this fall hurr durr" Whoooooosh. Sometimes people like you don't understand what a dead franchise means. It means its quality has gone down the drain and its once strong legacy is beyond repair of which Paper Mario fits the bill perfectly. "But the series is still great in MY opinion so it's not dead" Your opinion means nothing in the face of thousands if not millions with the sour taste that Sticker Star left in people's mouth and it sure as hell won't change anyone including mine. A game that takes after the weakest link in the franchise sets itself up for failure and disappointment.

Re: Hands On: Painting a Clearer Picture of Paper Mario: Color Splash

EngieBengie

@MussakkuLaden I'm one of these fans you are talking about and you have no concept or understanding why it's dumb what Nintendo did to the Paper Mario series. When you establish a standard, you should live up to that standard. You don't live to that standard, well yeah you're gonna get hate. PM64 established good story, great characters, fun battle systems, partners. Sticker Stars removes story, adds generic characters, battles are pointless and partners are gone. It's a step backwards in every sense of the word. "Wah people stahp hatin ninty pls accept the new change waaaahh" That's not how the world works. Change can be good just as much as it can be bad. Very, very bad.

Sticker Star lacked soul, passion and care, should we just act like we are totally excited for a game that takes after the weakest link in the franchise instead of a return to greatness?

Re: Editorial: Nintendo Did A Solid Job at E3 2016, But That Didn't Ease Long-Term Concerns

EngieBengie

Nintendo's E3 was, in my eyes, average. Not anything amazing, mostly because my expectations were so very low that they could not possibly disappoint. Zelda was the only title of importance, the only game I actually cared for. The rest was more or less the same thing we've seen from past years. Pokemon? Same formula since the 90s. Color Splash? A disgusting insult to the once great Paper Mario series. Mario Party? Isn't this series dead? But Breath of the Wild is something. You can tell Aonuma squeezed all the passion and soul he had making this game and I will absolutely buy it day 1. Perhaps as a good bye gift to Nintendo before leaving them for Sony.

I really loved Nintendo back in the day. Their games were amazing, memorable and had such replay value but I don't know, this generation, Nintendo feels so different. Like a shell of their former selves. As much as I wish and wish that the NX is a success, does Nintendo truly show signs of learning. Ever since the N64 days, they had the hardest time in the world getting third parties invested in their consoles. A few generations later, nothing has changed. What makes us believe that they have learned? Nintendo tries too hard to be the "innovative" company to show off instead of tackling their most immediate and urgent issues. Doesn't seem like they are learning anything to me. With how many franchises they have butchered this generation, even that one area Nintendo was amazing at, games, is suffering.

I have lost so much faith in this company, I do not know why I even bother coming here expecting something to change. It might be the slightest, tiniest bit of hope left in me speaking but deep down, I have this ugly feeling like it's not going to end well. I look at the Playstation fans and I envy them because Sony is always giving them what they want, they keep the hype and deliver and give their players the best they have to offer.

Guess I'll hold dear all these memories I had from their past generations and replay all their old games, this is the best thing I have from them.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 2016?

EngieBengie

I was pretty skeptic of Nintendo after hearing Zelda was going to be their only playable game and they won't have a Direct but I admit they did better than I expect. This isn't to say their E3 was amazing, Zelda Breath of the Wild being the absolute only thing I found of interest, but that game alone looks impressive to me. that being said, Sony won E3 hands DOWN.

Re: Random: Super Smash Bros. Melee Input Lag Remains a Hot Topic Among Fans

EngieBengie

@Nintendude789 Exploits yes, glitches absolutely not. And even then, L-cancelling, DI-ing are official techniques, consciously programmed into the game. A technique being official or unofficial doesn't make it good or bad. Tripping was intentional in Brawl and did more harm than good meanwhile Wavedashing is not official but is still beneficial.

Re: Random: Super Smash Bros. Melee Input Lag Remains a Hot Topic Among Fans

EngieBengie

@Nintendude789 NONE of them are. That's the point of my comment. For you to research the definition of glitch apply it to Melee's tech and for you to realize that none of them apply to the definition. I was vague and not precise enough with my point. At most they are physics exploits but none of the are glitches because glitches are hiccups in the game's code whilst something like Wavedashing can be rationally explained as being a byproduct of the momentum given to you from air dodging.

@smashbrolink What strategy and skill is there to Temple that isn't present on Battlefield or Smashville? Temple works for 4 players + not in serious 1v1. It's too big and what you call luring the enemy in disadvantageous places is a lighter way of saying that stalling a match would be common. Especially considering most matches in Temple eventually go to the lower part when you can Tech every Smash-attack thrown at you meaning it is not uncommon that people live to 200%+. It won't be as exciting as you think it is.
