Re: Site News: Nintendo Life Turns 20 Today!

Happy birthday NL! I'm glad to have been a part of it since I got my 3ds. It's really cool seeing the consistent presence of long time commenters like @rjejr for as long as I can remember! They have been as integral to the site as the articles themselves!

Re: Review: Furi (Switch eShop)

@Shiryu Glad to see it runs well on switch! I played it while trying out Amazon's cloud gaming service (Luna), but it didn't run so great all the time on there, but the game itself was a blast!

Also, a lot of people don't like the walking sections, but I think the story in them is actually kind of interesting and they're honestly a nice chill break from all the action, it helps keep my head in the game and not get mad.

I really enjoyed the game, though I wish the loading times between each village weren't so long. It felt more like a simplified 2d Monster Hunter game than anything else, and I love Monster Hunter, so that's a compliment from me! It would be cool if they could introduce skills or different abilities to change up the fighting a bit more, but as it is, I still find it fun to surgically dismantle a boss after finding they're patterns out.

@Edu23XWiiU you say that like they didn't do the same thing for many other ports, and quite honestly, though the touch screen system is unique, I think even just a dual stick control system (if not gyro that is) would play and feel better for most people.

@TeddyBearSolid Same here, I just really wanna play it again, lol

Re: The Monster Hunter Rise Demo Is So Popular It's Apparently Causing The Switch eShop To Struggle

@LilMuku sounds like you just need to get good at reading monster attacks πŸ˜› you can't just recklessly pop a health potion or attack whenever, you have to wait for opportunities and capitalize on them. The part I enjoy most about the game is learning the monster's patterns and learning my own weapon to point where the monster's attacks always miss and I can capitalize on it every time.

Re: Monster Hunter Movie Tops The Box Office But Took $15 Million Less Than The First Resident Evil Film

Slightly off topic but, concerns that the film would deviate from the source material? Who ever played monster hunter for the story in the first place? They can make up any random story, and it will likely end up adding to the current lore, which there isn't really that much of. As long as the plot is semi entertaining and I get to see some well done action scenes with my favorite monsters, it's a win in my book.
