Happy birthday NL! I'm glad to have been a part of it since I got my 3ds. It's really cool seeing the consistent presence of long time commenters like @rjejr for as long as I can remember! They have been as integral to the site as the articles themselves!
Man, I miss miiverse! I used it on the 3ds mainly, to connect with other Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate players and set up times for hunting together π₯² I miss it dearly!
This looks awesome! I really tried to get into DQ XI , but I only learned that traditional RPG mechanics are not my thing. This looks right up my alley though!
This reminds me of a lot of Into the Breach! That game was a ton of fun and was a stepping stone for me to eventually play XCOM 2, another amazing game. The way this article reads sounds like a combination of the two, which sounds like it would be right up my alley!
Edit: ngl, I commented before reading the article, oops π
@Shiryu Glad to see it runs well on switch! I played it while trying out Amazon's cloud gaming service (Luna), but it didn't run so great all the time on there, but the game itself was a blast!
Also, a lot of people don't like the walking sections, but I think the story in them is actually kind of interesting and they're honestly a nice chill break from all the action, it helps keep my head in the game and not get mad.
The article was hilarious and the ending with phoenix wright being convicted of his own murder was perfect π The Neural blender pictures are a bit cringe though
I really enjoyed the game, though I wish the loading times between each village weren't so long. It felt more like a simplified 2d Monster Hunter game than anything else, and I love Monster Hunter, so that's a compliment from me! It would be cool if they could introduce skills or different abilities to change up the fighting a bit more, but as it is, I still find it fun to surgically dismantle a boss after finding they're patterns out.
@Edu23XWiiU you say that like they didn't do the same thing for many other ports, and quite honestly, though the touch screen system is unique, I think even just a dual stick control system (if not gyro that is) would play and feel better for most people.
@TeddyBearSolid Same here, I just really wanna play it again, lol
I could totally see this game working with gyro controls, so I feel like the lack of touch controls wouldn't be a problem. I don't really understand what would make this port or sequel especially difficult to make.
@BloodNinja I mean, that's a translation of what he's saying, so I feel like you kinda need to read between the lines there. From context, he clearly intends to say he doesn't like his likeness/popularity being used for memes
@abe_hikura I don't think it was even just that, I think the problem was that he was selling the screwed up software, I may be wrong though, not entirely sure
@LilMuku sounds like you just need to get good at reading monster attacks π you can't just recklessly pop a health potion or attack whenever, you have to wait for opportunities and capitalize on them. The part I enjoy most about the game is learning the monster's patterns and learning my own weapon to point where the monster's attacks always miss and I can capitalize on it every time.
Slightly off topic but, concerns that the film would deviate from the source material? Who ever played monster hunter for the story in the first place? They can make up any random story, and it will likely end up adding to the current lore, which there isn't really that much of. As long as the plot is semi entertaining and I get to see some well done action scenes with my favorite monsters, it's a win in my book.
@Zidentia ah, well sorry I didn't catch the sarcasm, but I don't know what you're talking about in the second half of your reply. All I was saying was that YouTube is still very popular/that it's "still a thing", you seem to have inferred something from that.
Dang, somehow I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't heard of this cuties incident.
And honestly, I don't like the idea of Netflix making live action adaptation of anything at this point. It's usually 10% hit and 90% miss with anything they make live action, imo.
Whether or not it's a Zelda clone, it is definitely not a BoTW clone. If anything, it looks more like traditional 3d Zelda games to me (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask).
It's looks like an expanded version of the original Donkey Kong, which I honestly quite enjoyed when I played the Gameboy virtual console version on the 3ds. I think this game could be a fun and innovative take on the original Donkey Kong
@SwitchForce decease refers to a person's death, or simply to die; it was a lighthearted attempt at a joke. I think you originally meant to say Cease and Desist.
Easier solution, just use a pro controller with a turbo button, and put something on the button to hold it down. That's how I got loads of tokens (forget what they're actually called) from the slots on dq11.
@AlexSora89 haha, that's pretty cool, it's a good song too. But, I'm not a very active person on this site. I'll comment when I have something to say, but that isn't very often.
Here I am in Japan, now I'm wondering if I should auction off my switch lite for bunches of money, and then buy a switch at a much cheaper price in the future
...π haha, maybe, but sounds like more effort than I'm willing to put in, and I've already grown attached to my switch lite

This looks awesome!!! I played DQXI S, the story was good, but I just couldn't get into the gameplay. The action in this seems way more my style!

Re: Review: Front Mission 1st: Remake - Impressive Visuals, But A Slog On The Battlefield
How would this game compare to something like XCOM 2? Currently really enjoying that, and I think I'd be interested in other games similar to it

I think it's a sequel in that it's their next game in the franchise, but it's not a direct sequel to SteamWorld Dig

They could attempt to optimize it instead of just cutting assets.

@Zidentia indeed it is, and millions of people still watch it every day

@Ooyah I believe the correct term would be "heveled", since the "dis-" is part of the prefix on "disheveled"

@RevrsblSedgewick but you can do that...

@lillith It's not really that the controls are floaty, they are very responisve; it's more like the way the character moves is floaty.

Re: Fitness Fanatics Are Now Paying Ridiculous Prices Online For Ring Fit Adventure
@Aozz101x just a natural result of high demand and low supply.
