While there are some seriously creepy Pokémon lurking in the ever-expanding Pokédex, most are relatively cute and cuddly, such as Pikachu, Vulpix and Snorlax.
Possibly wishing to redress the balance a little, Russian Illustrators Boris and Daria Sokolovsky - otherwise known as Theoretical part - have decided to reimagine a couple of the franchise's most beloved 'mon as nightmarish demons. Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Slowpoke are the trio which have been created thus far, and they're nothing like their usual adorable selves - as you can see below.
If you like what you see then you can check out some more of Theoretical part's work on their site and on Instagram.

Those look great
This is how Pokemon looks in Russia.
Well, there's my recommended dosage of nightmare fuel for the next few months.
To throw everyone for a loop, near the end of this series of artworks they should make a super-adorable, innocent-looking gengar drawing.
The art is pretty good but can't say I'm a fan of reimaginings like these.
Heh, that Slowpoke in particular looks awesome.
in soviet russia, 'em all catch YOU!
@Torakaka dont you meen years XD
@arcanine-is-here I've seen worse.
Surprised there was only 1 " in soviet russia " joke. il make one too " In Soviet Russia, the Pokemon battle you"
Leave it to Russia to take something as simple as a channel mascot and make it utterly terrifying.
All Pokemon are a nightmare.
Ah, the lovable trio of Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Slowpoke.
Charmander?
@AlexSora89 haha, Vid was (or still is?) technically a "television company" type content producer instead of a channel, but Belarus has had access to many Russian channels (including Ostankino aka ORT aka Channel One that aired their projects) for ages, so this face is among my childhood memories. Surprisingly, it didn't give me nightmares as a kid, although I've always found it unnerving for sure. Especially with the musical cue accompanying this thing.
@nhSnork
I wish I found a GIF for that, because by itself the still image is nothing more than a (admittedly creepy) white mask over a black background.
And yeah, those five notes... dun, dun, dun, dun, dun!
(C#-E-B♭-E-B♭, for those who know about music better than I do)
Pokemon meets Bloodborne!
"Squirtle is the demon of ocean depths and failed trips to sea"
Aaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww!
Good, they left out Charmander...leave my Charmander alone.
"How would you like to have this tasty, nutritious SlowpokeTail? For you right now, just 1,000,000! You'll want this!"
It makes you wonder how many would have died to get that item if Slowpoke looked like that. Plus, nobody would want to go anywhere near that well....
Wish he'd done Charmander. Great stuff.
..pretty cool..seems to be a new series of pieces called "Pokedemon" ...
..they Gotta Creep'em All..
Whoa, that's a hardcore Pokemon Switch title! Lol.
Great pictures by the way!
Am I the only one who's getting a kick out of how Squirtle has a pirate ship on his shell?
Like, why?
