@Jakiboy fortnite has been downloaded millions of times and it's one of the most profitable games of all time with a massive fan base. It would make sense that a character from the series would be in smash. I'm not a smash fan, but I find it odd that so many of you are complaining about the characters... Like, almost every single dlc character makes someone upset. Aren't all of the characters what makes the game fun?

These covers are all very, very bad and the people that made these should be ashamed.

Am I the only one who thinks majora's mask is just OK? The concept is amazing but the gameplay is below average.

Even this site's comment threads get crazy. I honestly think a few users comment certain things under articles with the intention of goading someone else into an argument. Everyone- young, old, liberal, and conservative. Some people thrive on negativity and don't even realize it. It really is sad.

@WoomyNNYes game stop and amazon have power a/third party controllers for 15-25 dollars.

Maybe instead of prime we could just get a classic pixel-style metroid game like fusion or zero mission? I'd imagine that would take less time to develop and cut down on the costs.

@Lone_Beagle @aznable @VR32X no, I think the original star fox didn't have a story or plot. Just a starship sim that they thought up a universe for later. Im not a dev and I could be completely and totally wrong, but I thought that happened often-ish with games. I think one of the monster hunter rise devs said they started with new game mechanics they wanted to implement and built up the game/story around it. And just from a personal standpoint, I really dont think many devs care about story. Most times video game stories suck/are more or less non-existent.

As a massive pokémon fan.... that's disgusting. Nobody should spend that much money on a card. I get that it means the world to him, but that's such a horribly irresponsible way to use money. Also, as someone else said, he could've just gotten an ungraded one from eBay for much, much, much, much, much less.

@Ghostchip nah, I'd say that's not common knowledge because it isn't taught in schools and it hasn't really been pushed in the media. I only know what it is because it was in an episode of law & order.

There are a lot of American law experts that love to feel superior in this thread.

My joycons started drifting a few months ago. I got electric contact cleaner for $6 and sprayed it under the flap. They've worked totally fine for a week now. If they start drifting again I'll use it again. If I run low on contact cleaner I'll pay $15 for supplies to fix the joycons and fix it myself. I really don't get why people are sending their joycons away for weeks at a time to get them fixed, then complaining about how long it takes when 1. It's during a pandemic and 2. They're getting it done for free, and 3. You can fix it yourself for 25% of the cost of a AAA game in 20 minutes.

@Patendo I totally get what you're saying, but some people are put off by the picture because it seems too provocative, and because she looks so young, and because it's for a Nintendo product. I'm pretty sure the photographer meant for the model to be sexualized, even though she looks so young. I think most of you that are arguing are actually on the same side. No disrespect.

@Ahlvin23 To be fair, the white model looks really young(too young) in the first picture and the way she's dressed makes her look even younger. By contrast, the black model just looks like a really attractive 20-something.

This indie game actually has an art style that looks... good. And the story seems unique without trying too hard or not trying at all, like most indie games tend to. Wish more indie games were like this instead of being uninspired clones of much better games that bring nothing at all to the table.

I hate both covers, but the western one is less confusing.

@Danrenfroe2016 I think there are definitely worse games they could be playing. If I had a young child I'd rather they played fortnite than a hentai sim/gta/doom-like game. Part of me wants to say I agree that children shouldn't be playing shooting games at that age, and part of me thinks games like splatoon, battlefront, and overwatch are totally fine for all ages. I think the thing that annoys me about fortnite specifically is that, as you said, its target demographic is children yet it doesn't have a strong fantasy element, and it's also not necessarily good in my opinion. The thing I do like about fortnite(and mine craft) is that they're so popular they're bringing in people that normally wouldn't play games, and I think that grows the gaming community as a whole. I'd probably push Kirby or splatoon on my child if he wanted to play fortnite though.

@Danrenfroe2016 we had a similar experience. I couldn't get into it after two rounds and just deleted it. I don't mind freemium games, as long as they aren't pay to win. Why is it not good for children in your opinion?

Reservations about the creator of mine craft aside, I can see why they added these characters. It's possibly the most popular modern game, and the highest grossing. Sakurai seemed massively salty though.

@TG16_IS_BAE @J-Biz honestly the Mario royale dev probably stole the idea from fortnite, and epic games probably stole that idea from the hunger games series, and the author of that book series probably stole the idea from the author that wrote Battle Royale. Things like this happen all of the time. If you're upset at ripping off ideas it's extremely stupid to get solely upset at Nintendo.

@rjejr roughly 2/3rds of switch owners haven't played it either. I think most people don't think it's a clone, and most of the people that do think it's a clone don't care that it might be a clone.

@Zidentia @GC-161 I think it's possible that miyamoto lied about the origins of Mario to avoid a lawsuit after the game and character became so popular. Remember, they were sued after donkey Kong released by Universal pictures for the likeness to King kong. They definitely didn't want to go through another lawsuit again- especially bc they were a smaller company at the time.

@Dromosus was just about to comment that fire pro should just get a release/reboot on the switch. If the devs released a fire pro type aew game it would be awesome.

Yes. It's equivalent to finishing a paper for school and not having enough time to proofread the last paragraph. I do think they should've delayed the release though. I'm assuming they didn't have enough time to properly test/polish the games.

First you complain about galaxy 2 not being in the collection. Then you complain about it being a limited release. Then you complain about the version of Mario 64 used-yet you still buy it. And now you complain about paying five more dollars.

According to that description, so many things could be labeled a "metroidvania." assassin's creed, skyrim, resident evil, etc. Just say it's like 2d metroid OR 2d castlevania.

I feel like the obvious choices are fire emblem and fzero. Those would work as movies, TV shows, or anime, have lots of lore to work with, and would have a wider appeal to people who have never played the game. Splatoon would be a great cgi movie for kids.

@StuTwo to be fair, I think people only hated character building in metroid because the character building sucked. I've heard the Manga is decent.

@outsider83 as someone else who doesn't like Seth rogan, I'm surprised. I thought I was in the minority. Imo he's extremely unfunny and he's one of the leading factors in the decline of the quality of comedy movies(or mainstream comedy in general) for the last decade or so. I've also heard stories about him and he can be unprofessional on set. Also, he's not legitimately good at anything in my opinion. There are much, much more talented people in Hollywood that will never be as rich, in demand, or popular as he is. He's kind of indicative of everything some ppl don't like about modern hollywood/cinema I guess. I don't want him to die or anything, I just don't care for him.

When I saw "inspired" I thought it would mean "uninspired ripoff" but this looks fun. Not my type of game, but fun. The voice acting sounds solid too.

@Samwise7 that's how I feel as well. I'd much rather nintendo works on a new ip than a port of decade old games.
