Why the hell are they charging anything above 5 dollars for Super Mario All Stars? It is literally the SNES game with a 20 dollar price tag slapped on it. I can't believe anyone would buy that over priced crap.
@Dave24 What those Fates being censored and not having a Europe have nothing to do with this. Fire Emblem or Nintendo has nothing to do with this game at all. This game isn't even in the same type of situation that Fates is in. There was literally no point into mentioning that at all besides making yourself seem idiotic by comparing two things that aren't alike in any way and bring up controversy, as if we don't have enough of that, that has no place for discussion here at all. (It's not like Europe hasn't had enough favoritism already from 2015. We didn't get Paper Jam till this year and God knows when Bravely Second will come out here.)
@Dave24 Why does a random game being censored matter at all? What was even the point of even mentioning that esspecially since there is no proof of this game being censored or not?
Anyway, the game seems like a mix Secret of Mana and a top down beat'em up, so I'll probably keep track of this. The sprites looks absolutely beautiful.
@Spoony_Tech How does that remotely does that? Anybody who don't care for read would probably just scroll all the down to where the score is anyway. That and a simple score doesn't really doesn't do a good job of telling about the game.
This new redesign is wonderful on my Samsung Galaxy. It looks insanely clean! Although I can so without the giant white bars everywhere on the desktop, I still think it is a great redesign overall. The new like feature and being able to see your mentions anywhere on the site is a good touch that was long needed.
This has been around for a long time I think. Since September I think, but I digress; I'm probably going to make my avatar like the picture below for my lunatic run. They're suppose to look like older versions of my Nohr and Hoshido character. Have no clue how I'm going to make my third path OC look. Might keep it the default male/female design.
That's Pokemon Company for you, willing to sue over a person making a Pokemon theme party over at his cafe, think they're so freaking important that they wouldn't even allow Nintendo to put Pokemon crys in Mario Maker, and even took down a FREE fan made 3D Pokemon game that is basically free advertising.
@Zibene999 Ditto. It look like a decent port at this point (besides the whole frame rate dips thing), but I still think it should be less than 50 bucks. I know that not everybody have a amazing computer, but this is really just a Dolphin texture pack with a price tag attach hat you can easily emulate with a good enough computer.
@AVahne I don't really mind the streamlined gameplay. A game, in my opinion, doesn't need a thousand different mechanics to be fun and challenging. Sure, I missed some older stuff from previous Fire Emblem games like the weapon use limit that made you choose your weapon carefully, it is the basic gameplay of Fire Emblem that I care the most about and the reason why I like the series in the first place.
@AVahne Pair-ups are nerfed to hell in Fates considering enemies can now pair-up and screw you crap up instantly if you're not careful, can't block and attack on the same turn, and your movement being decreased. You'll have to elaborate more on "NES gameplay" because that can me a crap ton of things.
@Tsuchinoko If you're a fan of any Genesis platformer like Ristar, Gunstar Heroes, Vector Man, Sonic, ect I definitely recommend you to pick Freedom Planet up esspecially since one of its free DLC is nearly finish. It had to been my favorite game of 2014 and on my top 10 list of platformers.
@Technosphile Are you ok there bud? I can call a doctor if you want. Anyway, even as a person that has some Native American blood, I still can't see how the Tomahawk costume can offend anyone. It is just a damn video game. It just seems pretty pointless.
Yes, because we really needed even more amiibos! sarcasm I seriously hope they don't actually lock out something out an entire feature with this, or else I might end up buying an Amiiqo soon.
@Zup Please for the love of all things holy avoided Lunatic. That mode is so freaking unbalanced it'll make you want to crucify the devs of Awakening for making such a terrible hard mode that you would think a JRPG designer amateur would make instead of a multi million dollar them. It's not like Awakening doesn't already have terrible map design, the incredibly unbalanced lunatic mode plus that will make you feel like you're playing a slot machine of a game. I didn't even freaking touch Lunatic + mode without grinding.
@MitchVogel I really recommend you to try out the GBA Fire Emblem games, FE8 to be specific. It's an amazing game to play after finishing Awakening (and in my opinion the better game) and it is great for non Fire Emblem veterans, after all, it was my first. After that I would probably try out Fire Emblem 7 and Fire Emblem 6 afterwards. The sad thing is is you want be able to replay Awakening afterwards because Awakening is really far from being better than any of those games sadly.
@Shirma_Akayaku Browserhax is still working? That's news to me, I thought Nintendo killed it after 10.4 came along, at least that's what I heard. There are still plenty of people getting soft bricks also (I got about 10 to 12 soft bricks even when I was doing everything right) and a few full bricks.
@CharleSketch Considering they killed a bunch of crap in 10.4 and forced people who got a soft brick to update to 10.4, I'll say they're doing a pretty good job.
@Ralizah Exactly. It's better if we wait to get our hands on the English version or till Gamexplain confirms before giving NoA another new one. We all know how unreliable Kotaku is so it's dumb to start the bitching now.
Let's time I played Fates the only thing that the petting did was bulid support from the character, something you can do just fine by playing the damn game while not acting like an old profanity. I don't really get the whole outrage about this honestly. Call me an apologist, but you can't make me care about something that is so useless that I didn't even touch the mode for the entirety of my Hoshido run of the game on Lunatic. Now if Nintendo lowers the difficulty becasue of the western audience, then we have a large freaking problem. I'm sure /v/ is having a whole parade over this news though.
>Kotaku
Lol. A infant is a better news source than Kotaku and I can't possible think of any reason to re-report any of the bullcrap they say.
I'll try this out later tomorrow thanks to the English version being leaked recently. I really does seems like a poorman Monster Hunter though, hopefully it's not as true as people make it out to be. I been wanting to play this since E3 2016.
@DarkKirby Can't really blame Nintendo for think their audience is morons considering that many people consider Awakening hard on anything that's not Lunatic/Lunatic + (even then those modes are just unbalanced pieces of crap), buy and defend the equivalent of physical day one DLC, and buy the crappiest of the crappiest games they put out? I would think the same thing after pulling cheap tactics to make a quick buck.
Jesus Christ this emulator is progressing a lot faster than expected! This is progressing faster than freaking Dolphin! I can't wait to see what come out of this!
I'll love to see how Goku convince Broly to fusion with him, I can only imagine how insanely powerful and ugly a SSJ3 Broly and Blue Super Saiyan Goku fusion would be.
@TeeJay And that means what? Just because I was dumb enough to buy the 3DS at launch doesn't mean I actually care for those terrible ports, even when I used to be a Nintendo fanboy. What is there to like about ports that are outclassed by crappy phone emulators?
@andrew20 The ambassador games were completely terrible. All of the games have a motion blur filter which is on the list of some of the worst retro games filters, terrible sound and graphical issues, the controls are limited, a the ghosting is bad. I don't see how anybody want anymore of them.
@kshixson Making day one DLC isn't the right way to earn money, in fact making any type of DLC before the game release (I use "any type" because amiibos are physical DLC) should be illegal by now.
@renaryuugufan92 This is basically my opinions on this whole entire mess. It's kinda funny, Nintendo fans use to laugh at companies that do day one DLC. Now they're defending it because it is ok when Nintendo does it now.
"Come buy Link's Awakening DX! Don't for get to buy our poorly ma- I mean great quality Link amiibo to get an extra Color dungeon exclusive to this amiibo!"
I won't be optimistic about Nintendo till they give me a reason to be optimistic and I don't care how long that takes. Considering this year will be nothing but Japanese only games getting release over here (after group of people already translated one of those in question) and literally nothing for Japan besides the one or two niche games once every 2 months, then have no reason to be optimistic at all. In fact that just make me grow even more negative about Nintendo and I'm saying this as a freaking Nintendo fan that usually defend every stupid decision the big N makes.
This is a terrible lineup for anyone who don't care for JRPGs and let's not forget half of these games already came out sometime ago. Bravely Second has been out in Japan for an whole year of so. Sad really, not really a good start to 2016.
Generation 5 has to be one of my favorite generations ever. Pokemon Black and White was an amazing return to Pokemon's glory GBA days and was a complete breath of fresh air after the crap that was Generation 4. The Pokemon designs were unique a lively, the region was full of life, the characters were likable, the plot was good, the game is full of content, it had some cool spin-offs, ect. Generation 5 was just a freaking master piece of a Generation and will forever be my favorite pokemon generation. Too bad that Generation 6 sucks so hard that it's near Generation 1 levels of bad.
I'll be waiting for reviews for this one. Bravely Default was an incredibly average to out right bad game and was one of the most disappointing games I've played at the time. Don't want to be disappoint a second time, especially since I heard nothing but bad things about the sequel from those who imported the game.
@Baker1000 I still do that to this day. Until someone give me straight proof that doesn't improve your catch rate I'll never stop believeing that old rumor I use to hear on the playground. Even if that does happen I'll still do it just for added luck.
This year for Nintendo was terrible. The only good that came out of this year was XCX, Stella Glow, MH4U, and maybe Super Mario Maker and Splatoon really. Everything else about it was utterly terrible, Iwata even died during this year! It couldn't possible get any worse than this year.
I really hope they're finishing up the DLC now, because this being announce makes me wonder how it is doing. None of this stop me from incredibly hype though.
