@Wexter Fine by me. You know how people are interested to see how GRRM finishes his opus having already seen how the TV series turned out? In the same way, people would be interested to see how GRRM finishes it even with all the fan fiction that would exist under my rules.

If those authors had wanted to finish their stories during the copyright period, IMO 20 years is enough time to ***** or get off the pot. Maybe under my rules they might have.

@Yodalovesu I haven't played this game, but a score of 4 would be consistent, if not generous, given the text of the review.

If it's better than lots of the stuff on the eShop, that tells me there's a lot of dreck on the eShop that deserves a score lower than 4. And I'm quite prepared to accept that.

Copyright should last twenty years or so. That's enough time to make a nice big wodge of money from something popular. After that, it's open slather.

The owners of the Batman franchise don't deserve buckets of money just for owning Batman. They didn't come up with Batman. They didn't finance anyone to come up with Batman. They probably weren't alive when Batman was created. So why do we have to pay them money if we want to sell pictures of Batman? What did they do to earn that?

If they want money from Batman, they can sell pictures of Batman like everyone else, and may the best Batman win.

If they want money for creating a character, then they can damn well earn that money by creating characters! Maybe then we'd have something better to watch than increasingly dull Batman movies.

You missed Griftlands. It's a roguelike double deck builder: one deck for negotiation, one for combat. It has a really cool setting and the stories get more interesting the more you unlock. Highly recommended. GRIFTLANDS.

I'm fine with this. Values change. There are characters in old games who glamourise smoking too, and you can bet they'll be next on the block.

It is a shame that they're not taking this opportunity to update the law to cover real in-game gambling mechanics with real money, which is clearly harmful too.

Copyright law is an ass. It's clear that there is something badly wrong with it, but we're never going to change it. All we can do is just pile on the disrespect and show it up for the stupidity that it is.

Can't justify a whole new console just for an upgraded screen, even if I do mostly use mine in handheld mode. I'll buy it when it's a proper upgrade.

@ATaco Depends what the data is. It might be customer login details which you might be able to use to charge their credit cards for stuff you can sell. It might be secrets that allow you to set up an underground rival DLC store. It could be a game engine that you can populate with other assets and sell as a new game. It could be financial data that could be used to undermine or embarrass the company.

Clearly these guys just want to make a quick buck so they're just selling it.
