@rjejr you get orbs while playing, a common practice is to reroll at the beginning (finish tutorial for 15 orbs, get 2 login bonus orbs, finish 3 chapters for 3 more orbs and try to get 5 people who are good)
Well I'm ordering a 256gb micro SD card on Massdrop but other than that I have my Switch preordered since it was available on Best Buy and am buying a physical copy of 1-2 Switch and digital Mario Kart 8 Deluxe when it's released and BoTW on launch. Hopefully Nintendo's servers won't be dead...
@JaxonH well sound is personal preference, and I was talking about their over-ear headphones (I know nothing about their in-ear models). If you like how they sound good for you, I'll be sticking with my AKG K7XX, however flawed they are.
@Bulbousaur the gamecube adapter actually only uses the black port for data, the grey one is for rumble. Just try plugging the grey one into your phone charger for proof
@amiiboacid AFAIK even though it supports SDXC the max isn't supported (at least officially). I'm sure people will get 2TB working but it's probably better to keep around multiple SD cards...
@MilitiaMan admittedly thats on high graphics please don't roast me
i get what you're saying though, and while I think that depending on the game graphics can be very important, possibly moreso than the framerate, but that it would be nice if the GPU in the Switch were much better than the Wii U. As long as you don't notice the graphics, they're fine, right? With that mindset, if the graphics are noticeably poor, they can be distracting from the gameplay, which, in a perfectly optimized game, leads to 4 different options. A: the developers cancel the game B: they change the art direction/style to be less demanding or mask the poor graphics more, changing how they intended the game to look C: they change how the game is played/limit the environments, or in the case of cpu limitations, reduce the complexity of their game or, D: put up with a lower framerate, impacting the visuals AND gameplay. All of these options aren't ideal, and while compromises have to be made and often lead to better ideas, less power limits the developers freedom in how they want their game to look, feel, and yes, even sound, while keeping a good framerate, which can be extremely important for many titles (as I'm sure you agree). Thats just my 2 cents though (Is that how they say it?), and if you disagree with me, that's fine by me.
I played a fair bit of it with my (surprisingly good) cousin since I don't have an iPhone and all those people who haven't bought it don't realize what they're missing out on. It's not as much content as a full Mario game on a Nintendo console but it's just as good.
I just remember it being slow. I did use an old 3DS instead of my updated New 3DS though, and I hear the o3DS has an inferior wifi card, so that might be it.
@nhSnork I've used it before (not for piracy I swear) and it's extremely slow.
I think it would be used best for downloading a copy of a digital game you own in case the data gets corrupted and it gets taken down. They also have free games there. I don't see much use for it but I did end up getting more save files for certain games which is always nice . I could have easily used it for piracy though and I think taking down a key download website would have been a much better decision since it would make it much easier to pirate games. TL;DR: nothing wrong with it but very limited use cases
@KirbyTheVampire Chances are the resolution just depends on the game. Dynamic resolutions are a thing now, you know. Heck, Overwatch on the Xbox One shows a very good example of this, sometimes lowering the rendered resolution in order to maintain 60fps. I don't think a game like Zelda: Breath of the Wild would run at 1440p, even at 30fps.
Which makes me hope that they let you choose a higher framerate over resolution...
Also the rocks didn't look too good on my phone (imagine how they look on a 50 inch TV) so I think they are clearly doing something because as you said, the PS4 Pro probably couldn't render scenes like this with acceptable performance (AFAIK PS4 Pro has a GPU pretty much equivalent to a RX 480) at 1080p.
@allav866 I have a feeling the Aether Foundation is making fun of PETA
They disable Pokéballs in their facility, just like PETA, they seem to be all about protecting Pokémon but I saw the (loli) president let out this evil grin when saying she will "love and protect" the ultra beast (I'm not too far in, excuse my possible ignorance please) which reminds me of how PETA doesn't actually "save" most of their animals. Sorry if you support PETA but...
There are 2 ways we could look at this, I guess. Pascal has far better power efficiency, but Maxwell overclocks like a champ, which could provide the extra boost needed to run games at 1080p when docked. I'm all for Pascal though, and am disappointed by this, hoping the GPU uses the Pasca; architecture
Especially considering how much more powerful laptops have gotten since August because of it, I don't think they'd just go Maxwewll January can't come soon enough, it seems.
looks like I'll be going to Japan, though in 2020 I'll either be living in California or Florida so if they're open in Orlando or Hollywood I wouldn't mind a bit
Also, I think that the 12 hour in-game time difference for Moon might have turned some people away. If it's so big of an issue you can just change your 3DS time though
Not surprising. At my local Walmart, I knew I was gonna have trouble picking but I didn't end up having trouble because Sun was sold out until the next week and nobody bought Moon
NOBODY the little thing where they store them was full and Pokémon Sun was missing next to it
@XCWarrior If you treat your Pokémon with enough care in this game they can withstand attacks that would otherwise wipe them out. Rely on the RNG to get through the game! lol
People buy digital copies of Pokémon?! I couldn't imagine over a decade of Pokémon being lost over a random person on the street crushing my 3DS for no reason
