Universal Studios Japan has revealed initial details surrounding Super Nintendo World, Nintendo's first foray into theme park entertainment.
The much anticipated theme park experience will be completed in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The themed land in Japan will be the first location to open, with information on the Orlando and Hollywood expansions coming at a later time.
Taking cues from other theme parks, Super Nintendo World will host state of the art attractions, entertainment, restaurants, and shopping and will feature characters from "Nintendo's most popular characters and games." With a cost exceeding 50 billion yen, this won't be a small expansion.
In addition to the concept art above, the land's official logo was revealed and can be seen below:
Universal has shown itself to be extremely capable to create an immersive world that not only is accurate to the source material, but provides world class entertainment to all, and this is the company's next big franchise to be incorporated into theme parks since the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Are you as excited for Super Nintendo World as we are? What ideas do you have for the park? Let us know in the comments.

There better be a Kirby Cafe there.
GOSH !!
I saw a concept of Captain Toad Hill over there.
Would like to see Baby Park from Mario Kart 8 become real.
I initially thought that the new mario game was announced, and thought it would be open world, then I saw the crowds and there goes the hype...
Simply amazing.
I love that 3D World-inspired diorama in the top right.
They better have something Poochy in Super Nintendo World.
The Zelda Scrap Puzzle Room should be there permanently. Hopefully it could be underground and a castle right above it, crawling with Gaurdian animatronics.
Missed opportunity to call it Nintendo Land though.
I'm just realizing Universal is behind what essentially boils down to the defictionalization of Nintendo Land.

Meanwhile a formerly Universal property is getting a new coat of paint on Playstation4 next year.
Also Mario's upcoming movie is a Sony thing.
I wonder...
Excellent. Rumor has it that the Hollywood park will get it before Orlando. Japan obviously comes first because of the Olympics.
I wonder how the Hollywood park will be handled though. There's like no space there. They'll have to replace some of the soundstages in the lower lot or replace something like Springfield (Simpsons). Also means that the Diagon Alley expansion likely won't come to Hollywood.
Yes!!!! Finally!
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy
I agree. Nintendo Land is a much better name!
This is awesome! Whenever it's complete, my brother and I will have to take a visit there.
Um...little question. How about Universal Studios Singapore ?
Love the name,much better than Nintendoland.
While you won't get me in there - or any theme park really - for a billion dollars since standing with thousands of smelly and loud people in line or generally being around as many people isn't my idea of "fun", I can't wait to see what kind of attractions they come up with. How about a Bowser's Coaster Castle where you ride Spine Coasters through Bowser's Castle with an animatronic Bowser waiting at the end and breathes "fire" at you to send you off.
@YouSeemFRAZZLED A few months? More like a few days
The name sounds like a merge between the Super Famicom and Super Mario World. There better be an F-Zero theme attraction there.
YAYAYAYAYYY I can't wait!!! Except that I'll probably have to. I went to USJ the year they opened the Harry Potter exhibition, and the sign for the big main ride said "wait time from this point is 5 hours". I wouldn't have waited even if I especially liked Harry Potter. On the other hand, there was pretty much no line for the ride based on the greatest movie of all time, Jurassic Park. At any rate... I'm super excited for Super Nintendo Land but definitely won't be trying to be among the first people there.
I'm excited! I do hope there will be things other than Mario though... That pic along with the logo make me fear it's going to be extremely focused on the Mushroom Kingdom... :/
I just want them to defictionalize Chateau Romani already. What's more, a proper milk bar might undo the damage a certain chelloveck and his droogs did to the concept's public image decades ago.
Still more of a Disney fan, but whenever they decide to add this in Orlando, we will be trying to save up money for this.
Mario Bumper Kart
Luigi's Horror Mansion
Donkey Kong Mine Cart Roller Coaster
Pokeball Ferris Wheel
Zelda Carousel
Zelda Pirate Ship
Kirby Cafe
Starfox Ar"swing" Ride
Metroid Elevator Drop Tower
The potential is limitless...
What @MitchVogel said!
Spoiler: I'm running all the concessions. Also, you will be able to do a meet and greet with your favorite Nintendo character! (me)
Pokemon Cafés. Could be one spot or a ton of kiosk throughout the park (depending on how big it is). Offering such region specific items such as Moomoo Milk and Rage Candy Bars (Johto), Lava Cookies (Hoenn), Casteliacones (Unova), Old Gateau (Sinnoh), Macaroons (Kalos), Malasadas, Pinao Juice and Tapu Cocoa (Alola)
Just give me that DK Minecart and I will be happy
The place is way too Mario-ish they need to change that
Has anybody found anything in that ic that in't from Mario games? The far left could be Hyrule, but it's probably more Mario w/ some tress outside the park line in the background.
I'm ok w/ the "world" being a coherent Mushroom Kingdom but they they do need a coupe of other themed rides in there.
This looks like the game Nintendo Land should have been. Or maybe Nintneod Land 2 on Switch that got moved from the poor Wii U. Or maybe an MMO, populated w/ amiibo.
Not sure I'll ever make it to Japan but Orlando is a near given.
Only seeing Mario so far but what beatiful art, sad I'll have to wait 5+ years to see this. Hopefully Zelda Kirby and co. etc. will be present as well, bc it': Super Nintendo world not super Mario world
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Agreed. I totally thought that would be the name.
Well I guess I'll be going to a theme park soon enough. Haven't been to one in like 17 years. Between the olympics and this Nintendo will likely have a very, very good 2020.
@MitchVogel Sounds like a place where you would get eaten and not the other way around. I'm imaging the entrance to just be Kirby's gaping mouth...
I like the name, but it's a bit of a missed opportunity to call it Nintendo Universe.
@rjejr Noticed the same thing. Zelda? Zelda!?
Anyway, it looks impressive, but I bet the Japan one will be the most extensive. 2020 is a bit disappointing as it will be longer for the Orlando one. ...
My brother-in-law's wife is Japanese and has family there, so it's not entirely impossible to get out there during the olympics. I know they are thinking about it. I think I'd skip the olympics though and hop around to this park and the ghibli museum, maybe Akihabara... hmm...
THEY'RE USING THE MARIO PARTY 10 RENDERS INSTEAD OF THE OLD ONES FROM 2006 I CAN'T DESCRIBE HOW HAPPY THIS MAKES ME
@Anti-Matter Baby Park is from Double Dash
@Snow-Dust Seriously? Carousels? Bumper Cars? Let's hope that Universal has a little more imagination than that...
@strongest_link
Yes, of course Baby Park is from Double Dash. But Mario Kart 8 version looks like Disneyland of Nintendo, more attractive.
@rjejr
You spelt "Nintendo" right once. Congratulations!
@aaronsullivan
I like that they're embracing the "super" with this. I loved the Super Nintendo (as we called itge SNES round my way growing up) and have often wondered if calling the Wii U "Super Wii" would have shifted a few more units. It communicates that it's a more powerful version of a familiar system effectively.
new 3DS could have been "Super 3DS" too.
looks like I'll be going to Japan, though in 2020 I'll either be living in California or Florida so if they're open in Orlando or Hollywood I wouldn't mind a bit
@Anti-Matter maybe because it's a newer game and it's in HD
What, no Nintendo 64 World?
This is my dream come true! See you in 2020 Japan!
Grrrr... sounds like about four years to build. As they finish in Japan, it will likely be proof of concept for the Nintendo area at Universal Orlando. That means... 2024 (or so) before those of us stateside get to visit Super Nintendo World. I'll be doing cardio and taking vitamins to make sure I don't die before then.
To celebrate, Universal Studios Adventure for GC virtual console!
i would like to listen that song from zelda ocarina of time that recall`s me a circus
I wish Witchyworld was a theme park in real life
Last visited the park in Osaka Broadway about 6-7 years ago. Will visit in 2020 or 2021 for sure when my daughter is around the appropriate age so she can understand and have fun there.
This is going to be so cool theme park experience.
Only Mario?I'm no longer excited.
@iGen Nice catch on the commercial. That's exactly what I was thinking and I was actually hearing that guys voice in my mind while typing it.
@aaronsullivan
I knew that sounded familiar...
Glad to have my sharpness entertain you.
