Imagine having worked hard for several years on something and delivering a finished, polished product and being proud of your work. Then you outsource the last bit meant for a different market to a very professional company, and all is great.
Then you just kinda wait for the last bit to be ready, and hear nothing for ages.
Then you wake up, and the people in charge of the release have released your product on that very same day, and you've heard nothing for months on the progress of the product beyond "it isn't done and we need more work on it". Then you check out your product and realize it is missing quite a few things and is not held to the same standard as it is in the other markets.
@Strictlystyles One has already been made My fiancée time travels quite a bit, but she still enjoys figuring out which ones are real and which ones aren't. She refuses to search for the real ones, so even if she time travels, it'll take a while to complete.
@Incarna Agreed on pretty much everything you wrote.
Also, still laughing at the fact that ACNH got a 10/10 when it's probably more like an 8/10 game with a ton of annoying design decisions included that could easily bump it down to 7/10.
I love the game and find it fun, but the multiplayer is downright trash and I'm never gonna get used to only being able to place items vertically or horizontally. GIVE ME DIAGONAL PLACEMENT, JESUS. There are a lot of issues that I won't get into, because I'd be here all day, but man, when NL makes their news by promoting an article written purely to rile up AC fans just to ride on the exact same soulless metric of "hatemail"... You know they're hitting rock bottom.
What, specifically, did you find so bad about the Bravely games?
And do not give me the "well you had to play through the first game twice to reach the end", because we both know that ain't true (or well, people who have actually played it knows that ain't true.)
LOL. Ok... As long as a smartphone sequel is even on the table, I won't support the series. Yikes.
Was going to buy Bravely Default II but now I'll wait until I'm sure that the smartphone idea is dead. Christ... Does this man not know that smartphone games are the root of all evil?
I kinda unlocked terraforming a few days ago and since then I've had no motivation to play really.
Terraforming is cool and all, but when Tom Nook stopped having things for me to look forward to or do, it kinda fizzled out.
I've paid off all my house loans and built the bridges/inclines I want, so I'm kinda just doing nothing atm. Fishing a few minutes daily, grabbing my fruit, maybe hitting some rocks. It's chill but getting kinda boring.
I do check the fashion shop and nooks cranny as well daily. But hoping we get some more to do.
Easter event was cool but not tuned well enough so I finished making everything in about 1 hour. Recipes were unlocked super fast, and everything I got was eggs from all sources, so it was like, meh, done in no time.
EDIT: If you're wondering how I paid off my house loans this fast, me and my fiancée decided to have fun going all in on the stalk market. We were standing to lose a ton of money with 16k turnips bought, but saturday afternoon she opened her game and we had a turnip price of 573 bells a turnip. Needless to say that made us crazy rich. We'd spent a ton of time grinding bells for the turnips too.
"plummeting" by 81% and remaining in 3rd place is what I call grand success.
Anyway, there's both physical game and console shortages atm. It makes sense.
UK is also notorious for having very bad taste in games (evident by fifa, cod being at the top despite the games barely associating with the word "effort" for the past many years). Nintendo games and games that don't involve a metric ton of warfare, gore, blood, or guns typically just don't sell as well as they'd do in many other countries.
Regardless of how ACNH does overall, I'll forever be thankful to the creators. They're the reason I'm finally after a decade playing a game with my fiancée regularly.
Christ, I would not have published this article. Yikes. It doesn't matter what disclaimers you put, some idiot is gonna try to do this. Rather have less people do it than more.
I've had a Switch since launch. My fiancée doesn't really game, but I told her a bit about Animal Crossing (New Horizons is also my first venture into the franchise) and she was intrigued. I had wanted to upgrade to the new Switch version (for the battery time), and seeing her show even a tiny bit of interest basically pushed me to do it.
She now uses my old Switch and I use my limited edition ACNH switch.
Gone from not playing games together at all to roughly playing 2-4 hours of Animal Crossing daily together haha. Must say I'm over the moon.
We didn't want to settle with playing it on my old Switch either as I bring it for work, and she's now unemployed thanks to covid-19, so she can play all day at home if she wants.
I'm extremely bad at shortening my backlog. In fact it always gets bigger. But I HAVE tried to remedy it and it's actually going better. I've stopped buying stuff on sale. I've got a ton of money to spend on games, I literally don't need to care if it costs 30 or 60 euro. Why waste 30 euro on it if I won't play it for like 5 years?
If a game does not click with me within 1 hour, I discard it and put it on the "Try again later" list. This list is not a backlog and I have absolutely no need or want to pick up most games on it, but they're there if I wanna give them another shot. 1 hour isn't a lot, but games just need to click. It's fun or it is not. Simple as that. If the intro doesn't woo me, most of the game certainly won't.
In the last two weeks I've added 20 games to that list, and I actually don't regret it. I cleared a lot of storage on my SD card
@Bunkerneath Eh, if we're lucky enough, 26th of March will provide us non-AC fans something interesting Well unless they focus on bloody xenoblade... Then I'll still have nothing interesting.
That being said, I pre-ordered the limited edition AC Switch coz I wanted to upgrade to the new model and those pastel color joy-con are FIRE.
She took precautions and resigned prior to the launch of ACNH xD
Her "new challenges" consists of making cups of cocoa and relaxing with ACNH 20 hours daily!
Jokes aside, honestly never heard of her or felt her presence anywhere. And I watch everything. She won't be missed, but I do wish her good luck in her next job.
@DarthFoxMcCloud Date was originally March 13 for my country at least (Denmark), but it was pushed back to the 20th now. I got an email from the people I pre-ordered at saying the bundle was delayed to the release date due to the corona virus. They hadn't received more than 20% of what they needed, so they wouldn't be shipping any of them until release date.
The most baffling thing about this is: This is Animal Crossing. ANIMAL CROSSING.
There is not a single possible reason to give a damn about any cheaters ever in this entire franchise. NOT A SINGLE.
Had it been a game where online interaction was a major aspect, or where there were competitive elements, sure. I'd get it, as long as progress was just backed up on Nintendo's servers. This? This ain't it.

@RadioHedgeFund I highly doubt that. The comments, for example, is all switch backers and people crying about it not coming to Xbox. Granted, it's a small sample size, but I highly doubt a niche game like W101 is suddenly super popular with PS4 owners.
@BakaKnight "Sometimes I feel like the Wii U never existed"
It didn't. That's exactly why we're all throwing money at the game now. The Wii U was a mistake, and it was painfully obvious early on how bad that console was. So now that Nintendo has an amazing console out, we all want the chance to play a game that was good but came out on terrible hardware.
Idk, it makes perfect sense to me.
EDIT: My tone seems a bit harsh, but I assure you, this is just my opinion. Not aimed at you or anything either. If you liked the Wii U, good I decided not to purchase it because to me it wasn't worth the money. Simply wasn't a quality product (to me).
@Sinton They don't, but they do need kickstarter funds to avoid taking potential losses on porting the games incase they fail on their target porting platforms.
Also, what better way to gauge interest in the title, than by doing a kickstarter?
If the kickstarter fails, you've lost nothing.
If it succeeds, you've funded your game based on who wants to buy it NOW.
I backed it immediately. I never got to play it on Wii U, but from what I've seen (and briefly tried on a friend's Wii U), it's a fun game that deserves to be given a chance.

I would.

It's Animal Crossing. Just assume nobody is in a relationship. Because that's pretty much the gist of it.

@Liam_Doolan Fun fact - that's not something I or anybody else can see xD
But thanks for the adjustment. MUCH better title.
Re: The End Of An Era: E3 2020 Is Officially Cancelled
@Liam_Doolan jesus christ that's some clickbait title game there. Why so dramatic?
They're cancelling it for this year due to mass panic in the entire world.
They'll be back next year.
Regardless of the "other factors", E3 has been doing well, so this is just incredibly unnecessary.
Re: Rumour: Two Nintendo Presentations Expected To Air Before The End Of March
@TDRsuperstar2 what do you mean with that? Indivisible has been confirmed for Switch for ages xD
Unless you mean "gimme the freaking game now, I can't wait!".
In that case, I agree.
Re: It Sounds Like E3 2020 Is Going To Be Cancelled
@AtlanteanMan You do know that E3 isn't going away, right?
It's probably being cancelled in 2020, and resuming its normal course for 2021.

Two-player Mahjong?
That's even more of a meme than sanma.

With JP Riichi ruleset.
Re: Atlus Wants To Know If You'd Like Persona, Etrian Odyssey And Other Past Games On Your Switch

Re: Switch Production Not Currently Affected By The Coronavirus In Europe And North America
@alpacatears Yeah I just checked a few minutes ago, only that retailer seems to be affected (at least for now, or well, openly.)
Got another pre-order in at a retailer that seems to be unaffected.
Re: Switch Production Not Currently Affected By The Coronavirus In Europe And North America
@carlos82 Coolshop. I've also got it pre-ordered at another retailer that doesn't have the delay warning yet.
Re: Switch Production Not Currently Affected By The Coronavirus In Europe And North America
Interesting. I, a resident in Europe, had my order delayed because of the corona virus.
Not affected... Hmm.

@SortingHat I understood literally none of that.
Also, unsure if you're misunderstanding me? I'm saying BotW should keep its current style. I do NOT want it to look like Link's Awakening.
Re: Random: What If Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Looked Like Link's Awakening On Switch?
Oh please god NO. Jesus Christ. Don't even mention it, it just might jinx the title (probably won't, but you can never be too careful).
BotW 2 needs to keep the style BotW had. Amazingly beautiful and ambitious. Serene, even.
Not the playdough cartoony style of Link's Awakening.

@Liam_Doolan might wanna get Linhardt the heck out of the spotlight mate.
Last time I checked he wanted absolutely nothing to do with responsibilities or a leadership position for that matter.
I also don't think Claude appreciates being a mere house representative when he's a house leader in the main campaigns.
