@HeadPirate I lived like that too. At one point we were homeless in the mid-90's in bum-***** Wyoming living out of my dad's truck in the mountains. Every day he'd drive down and work to save up for an apartment and we'd just hang out in town until he got off work. We also motel hopped for years. I only had my own bedroom one time growing up for a couple of years and after that I slept under the staircase because I was too old to share a room with my sisters. So yeah, I get it.
@PoliticallyIncorrect I want to think these are just teenagers because the behavior is something you would expect an adult to not do, but that's an alternate universe. These people doing this are walking amongst us, voting, sitting next to us at restaurants, and are possibly our neighbors. You forget sometimes that these people are real and not just made up.
@wuntyme8 Making games these days takes longer. A group of 20 could make Mario 64, but it could take 150 to make the next Smash Bros. Game. So many gamers just don't seem to understand how the industry works as a whole or how games are made. Because Nintendo values their quality it's going to slow down even more than a 3rd party developer who might rush a game out 6 months early and patch it up. Each 1st party title needs to be a major success before the next one can be made. It takes years to make these games rather than months like it used to 20 years ago.
@jakebrake It's not as simple as uploading them to the store like Google Drive. It takes testing, time, money, people, resources, for each game. If only a small niche group of people want a game they won't put it on. Remember, Nintendo is a for-profit business first. If they can't make money off of it they won't do it.
@Strictlystyles I mostly bought games from them when they had a lot of Android games in their bundles and the occasional console bundle. I haven't bought anything from them in 5 years.
@Mips Just to chime in. Systems that output in interlaced video are measured in fields per second, not frames. I hadn't seen that mentioned and when people say FPS they assume it's always frames, but not with interlaced video.
Can't believe so many people are getting bend out of shape over this. It's just a fun mod, calm down. You're all acting like this is the next official port of Mario 64. Ray Tracing is just the next thing that pushes GPUs to their limits. Back in the mid-2000's it was all about PhysX and HDR lighting and real-time shadows and people got bent out of shape about that. "But baked lights look just fine!"
As a nurse who has taken care of the elderly with Alzheimer's and Dementia, I'm going to play this game for sure. My wife's grandfather passed away a couple of years ago with Dementia (you don't die from it) and other issues. It's frustrating as a nurse trying to deal with people with this disease because you some times can't give them the care they need, and it's heartbreaking seeing family members come in looking hopeful like today's the day they will be better or remember me! They always leave tons of pictures everywhere in hopes they will constantly remember. It's a battle of wishful and hopeful thinking sadly.
@Dr_Lugae Happened to me on Amazon for my review of King's Bounty: Armored Princess. I will never forget this guy! Back in 2013 you couldn't block people on Amazon and he kept leaving comments on my review saying how I was a puny mortal, I didn't understand strategy games, I'm a cheater, and all the basement dwelling pseudointellectual screaming of a complete moron. I had to keep deleting my review and reposting it, I contacted Amazon support for the harassment, and it didn't stop! I had to wait a couple of months before reposting it. His comments were paragraphs long. I only gave the game a 7/10! He said it's a perfect 10/10 and that's fine, but Jesus some people.
@HeadPirate You make good points. Another privelaged group are teens who have nothing to worry about except their hair, what they're going to wear the next day, and dating. I remember going from a teen to an adult to a father and my gaming time shrinks every few years. I can buy all the games in the world now, I have a massive collection, but I don't have time to play much of anything. Then there are those adults who have all the time or money or both with 100% disposable income and sit at their computer foaming at the mouth for the next major game release because they have nothing better to do and also stalk developer's social media accounts. It's creepy and sad.
@nessisonett Yeah, NintendoLife users can be pretty psychotic. I've seen some people go waaaay off the deep end who really need help. They're just games guys. Calm the hell down.
@Ulanda So you have NEVER watched a movie in the last decade? You've NEVER heard of Crackdown 3? So you live under a rock? Got it. That amount of isolation from the world can't be healthy.
Never played the original back in the day, and this isn't my thing, but my wife is nuts over Pokemon Snap and has been anxiously waiting for this game. At least it looks better than Sword and Shield.
Honestly, as an avid collector, LRG's model doesn't bother me. Most collector's editions even for regular games from other stores has a limited run or sell out pretty fast if it's popular enough, but no one complains about that. LRG has a smaller pre-order window, sure, but this goes for things like figure pre-orders and other items. You have to be in the loop and pre-order if you can. This isn't limited to video games.
Nice! Just pre-ordered Bloodstained 2 and the dual pack of No More Heroes, plus the Doom collector's edition and now this! Lots of good stuff. Still waiting on the Doom 64 collector's edition from October though.
@CTmatic Most are only sold on LRG. They don't announce what games are sold at Best Buy ever, you just have to search for "limited run games" on Best Buy's site a couple times a month and see what pops up. The other difference is these games don't come with the collector trading cards and have different covers from LRG's site.
@EVIL-C It's not limited to a specific amount of units. That's usually reserved for indie games. These are open pre-orders for about a month to 6 weeks. I love LRG honestly. I've gotten a lot of games from them. They also have physical releases that can be bought at Best Buy as well.
@Rika_Yoshitake For a lot of Japanese, this is offensive. The removal wasn't for you. I still can't believe that people get upset when offensive material is removed if it doesn't offend you personally. It's not about you!
@Razer Spoken like a true edgelord. What do you get out of this? Do you feel like you "get the final word in"? In the end, you're doing this for attention because this is about Mr. Altman and not you. Just another typical coward gamer who takes the entire hobby way too seriously. He didn't ruin anyone's lives. You took your research and are trying to live it. You weren't part of his life or involved in anything he was involved in. You're literally basing your extreme hate towards someone who just died, and for one this isn't the article to comment on for this crap it's incredibly disrespectful. And before you go on spouting how I'm a lesser human child I'm actually a nurse who deals with death regularly. I'm the person who tells the families their member just died. I get to deal with the body and make it presentable to the family. So, you have no idea what it's like to deal with the dead or what respect even is. You're a man-child living behind a keyboard and screen.
@PoorGeno What does China have to do with anything? You typed that comment on a phone or PC that was also made in China, using the internet connection from a router/modem made in China, or a satellite connection that was also probably made in China, while sitting in a chair/couch/car that was also made in China. That argument makes no sense.
This is hilarious. I can't believe so many people here don't have a sense of humor. Also, there's a ton of great content on TikTok if you can get over the whole, "I'm not mainstream" attitude. The algorithm quickly learns what you like and don't like. Eventually, you rarely see anything you won't find heartwarming/funny/interesting/educational/ etc.
@AndyC_MK84 Terrible gamepad utilization that was a DS on steroids. Made people's hands cramp. You couldn't buy a new one if it broke, lack of third party support, small HDD space, overpriced, confusing marketing, reliance on last-gen peripherals, under-powered compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3, too many terrible ports, the list goes on. This is tried and true facts too. Now, that's not to say the system was super awful, just no one asked for it.
4K handheld display is such a waste. You can't see the difference with that pixel density. 1080p at best. Even PC monitors are wasteful at 4K under a certain size. You won't notice the difference sitting mere inches from it. Waste of processing power, battery life, and money. Now displaying 4K on a TV is another thing.
@John_Koshiro I think if he went on a hiatus and came back in a year the series might be better. The issue is that it's his main income and has been for a decade. The channel just needs to be fully paused including keeping Mike and the three stooges away. Let the contract run out and come back later. You can just tell there's series fatigue in every single episode. I haven't watched any episodes in the last 4 or 5 months, but I'm sure they're no better.
@John_Koshiro I follow that sub frequently. It's sad that he's sold out so much, but I firmly believe he's just holding onto the channel for easy income as his dream of being a major filmmaker isn't happening. Especially after his movie bombed.
@John_Koshiro You're not the first to think that. The quality has gone downhill and his involvement has been minimal. He has writers now and mostly just collects paychecks. Some have found inconsistencies in his videos to show he doesn't even play half of the games anymore, but just watches the videos that the Screenwave team have made for him AKA: Justin and the four.
@nessisonett I must have misunderstood you. I thought you meant big as in sales wise. Not actual size. With that said. Still wrong. The Witcher 3 is only about 50GB. And it is still taxing even on modern systems at 1440p or 4K.
@fluggy You're not alone. I couldn't understand the story for the life of me. I wasn't the biggest fan either and I love Remedy Entertainment. Alan Wake is my favorite game from them, but it's overrated. The shooting was generic and boring. I only stayed for the visuals to be honest. The game also has zero replay value. I played it on PC when it came out with RTX and everything and it was pretty, but I literally can't recall a single thing about the story almost a year later.

@iulis84 Not necessarily lazy. Hitman isn't as big as The Witcher 3 and they may not want to put as many resources into the game. It's untested grounds on a Nintendo port as well. I wouldn't chaulk every cloud game as lazy.
@HotGoomba Mobile data failed with the Vita. It's expensive and usually exclusive to one company. There's no way a kid would get it either. $40 a month plus whatever hidden fees and contracts? It would be a dumb move for them to do that.

You act like every single young person never gets punished. This type of thinking is what's keeping the world back. So what. Beating kids is the answer? Times have just changed dude. Things are different from FOURTY years ago. Either adjust to the times or get left behind. I know more Gen X "brats" and bums than I do any other generation just FYI.
Finished this on PC a few days ago. It's all right, not very memorable and gets super repetitive. I felt no need to do any of the side puzzles as the "slicing through objects" idea never grew and got old early on. I gave it a 7 on my site as well.
@SpaceKaren This is true for every single fanbase. It happens to all of them. There are just more Nintendo gamers than any other system usually. Fanbases are stupid and biased no matter what. I am not a "fanboy" of any one system. I own them all, I play them all, and I understand they all have strengths and weaknesses. People who are blind fanboys are just idiots in general and refuse to see it any other way.
@Darkyoshi98 I beg to differ. They exist in every generation there's no generation that just doesn't have entitled people. I've seen 60-year-old men and women act like 5-year-olds online and in person. Everyone assumes that a "bratty internet user" is young when in fact they can be old or middle-aged as well. I just hate this stupid blanket assumption.
