We visited Sega Akihabara in 2019 but found it a bit of a disappointment, so didn't stay long. Most floors were running empty except for the ever popular UFO catchers on the ground floor.
I thought I would love having Bomberman on Switch but despite an early purchase I've hardly ever played it. Surprising when you consider we've 3 Nintendo fans all under same roof. Maybe after years of playing previous versions on 3DS, PlayStation & Saturn it no longer holds interest? Having said that I didn't like the Switch version's isometric graphical style. With Bomberman local co-op you really need simple clear 2D images. And where are the extra-life dragons? Not a patch on the Saturn version!
The actual Mario Kart ride looks as though it's targeted for 5 year olds. While I appreciate they need to cater for a family audience I was hoping for an immersive state of the art experience like Spiderman or Transformers. I remember being similarly disappointed when Disney first opened The 7 Dwarves Mine Train in Florida when for years they already had the much better ride Thunder Mountain. After visiting DisneySea in Tokyo be warned the ride queues are massive in Japan, so best to split up and use single-rider.
My family enjoyed the Hello Kitty express train when we travelled from Kansai airport to Kyoto. I seem to remember that was themed inside as well. It was a typical welcome to Japan. We did a day at Disney Tokyo but skipped Universal Osaka. Would love to revisit Japan some day.
Had this a while, just to play arcade original on Switch. I'm not a fan of the new version though so only played that option a couple of times. As I only like the old arcade option, my advice would be to wait for discount.
Will be giving this a very wide berth. There were many good games on Sega Saturn but I'd never put Nights into Dreams into that category. While graphics were strong for its time, the gameplay was boring. I spent seemingly endless hours playing hoping in vain that it would improve and justify the top price tag. Not for me thanks.
I'm gutted to think Switch will never get Sega Rally, Daytona, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Cop etc. I'd much rather revisit these solid classics than risk wasting money on the seemingly endless supply of shovelware available on eShop
Much nostalgia for Amiga. Remember those groundbreaking Cinemaware games 'Defender of the Crown' & Sinbad? Arcade perfect version of Marble Madness? Played 'Kick-off' (by Anco) so much it broke my joystick! There was also a platformer called 'Giana Sisters' but think that was never officially released...
Compared to Wii version, Mario Party on Switch has proved an expensive purchase at full price. Maybe that's because our family have now grown out of it, but the only time the Switch version has actually been played is when under 10 year-old relative visits our house. Played 51 Worldwide Games yesterday & it's OK for a quicker game but not without its faults. You've got to wade through quite a few pointless games before finding one you actually like.
Mr Do's Castle? Yes please! I loved playing that even though it seemed pretty tough. I was much better at the original Mr Do, a true classic. Both near arcade-perfect versions on 8-bit Atari system.
The last time I played a game written in BASIC it was the original Football Manager on Spectrum 48k. I remember if you pressed the BREAK key then you could view the program code. That was so long ago that the programmer Kevin Toms' beard now looks trendy again.
Being a big fan of Road Rash, I got Road Redemption during Xmas sale. I played it once but was so disappointed I've never returned. Unlike Road Rash I seemed to spend most of my time failing to prevent my bike from leaving the road instead of battling with the other traffic. I'm surprised to see it included on this list.
I sunk many hours into Outrun on Switch & loved every minute. I've downloaded Virtua Racing & looking forward to playing another quality conversion, but it would be greedy to really want Sega Rally on Switch?
Bubble Bobble 4 Friends on Switch includes the classic arcade game. I appreciate it has to be presented in old 4:3 format with horizontal borders but it's frustrating these old games are still displayed with a significant vertical border above & below the iFrame. Why not use as much of the screen as possible to display the original game?
Got this in UK day one, but after major dose of nostalgia must admit I haven't returned since. All my playing time was in the classic arcade game which includes the encroaching time limit character. Is that Baron Von Blubba? By contrast only played new version just the one time. It looks anaemic. Once was enough.
Good to see another classic Sega game on Switch but to be honest while I admired the graphics, I never really played this title or 'Nights' much at all. Personal choice I guess, but on Saturn I put serious hours into Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter and Virtua Cop.
Wasn't Arms developed by the same team who produced Mario Kart 8 deluxe? I loved playing Arms local & online back in the freebie days. Though must admit that unlike MK8 I haven't played Arms for years.
No platform system is complete unless there's a version of this classic. Fingers crossed this one doesn't mess too much with winning co-op formula. Even with infinite lives it was tough to complete all 100 levels, anyone ever figure out what that on screen code message meant when you finished the arcade?
There must be something wrong with me as I still haven't finished this game yet! I'm enjoying a change from the now ubiquitous run-shoot-kill repeat games. It reminds me of those old quirky Spectrum games and it's mischievous nature fills me with nostalgia about playing the classic Skool Daze.
Tread carefully. When I did this there was an attempt to intercept my Amazon account details reported by my internet security software. 've since heard that Twitch accounts have been hacked many times in the past which is a concern if it's now linked to your Amazon account.
Great news for Zelda fans, but I've never really played these games much even though I bought the original for GameBoy. It's interesting though that a classic game has been completely remade from scratch. I'm struggling to think of any other examples of that. Why not just release original classic game on Switch Online?
The trailer reminds me of Warioland2 on the Gameboy. While that's a top platformer I was hoping more for 8-bit arcade fun like Dig Dug, Boulderdash and Mr Do.
I've just visited the Kirby Cafe Summer popup store at Tokyo SkyTree complex open until 23rd September. The official merch on the 2nd floor shop is unique but quite expensive.
But you if you want to eat in the Kirby Cafe on the 4th floor then you need to pre-book well in advance using the following URL https://kirbycafe.jp/

I've always been a huge fan of the original Bubble Bobble. Never been that fussed on Bust-a-move or Rainbow Islands. This looks promising for local co-op fun but like others have already said, I'd still like to see a version of original classic arcade on Switch.
Doom changed everything with real-time 3D scrolling. I remember paying ÂŁ100 for extra PC RAM just so I could cache Doom and play super smooth. Beforehand all FP games used to redraw each static room/corridor. Unless you experienced gaming in the 90s it's hard to image how sad that was. All hail Doom the BFG of FPS.
When I visited the store in NY as well as merch it had a massive screen wall showing playable MK8, a display of StarFox characters and a glass counter containing a history of handhelds with each version of GameBoy through to 3DS. For selfie opportunities throughout the store there were life-size models of Mario and DK.
Anyone else remember The King of Chicago by Cinemaware from 30 years ago? It was stylish for its day with great narrative but actual gameplay was poor, limited by the old Commodore Amiga platform.
This is just corporate-speak for "we've messed up on one of our priority products". I write code for a living & missing a deadline by 6 months is pretty bad.

Bubble Bobble for me. It would be perfectly suited to local multiplayer for the Switch. While I still love Bubble Bobble, I was frustrated with it's disappointing sequel Rainbow Islands. Come to think of it, Gauntlet would also be worth a release for some classic 4 player co-op.
