Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Has Passed Five Million Installs on Android

BetaBugs64

My personal favorite mobile game ever, probably thanks to my utter obsession with Fire Emblem. Even Nintendo's other mobile games, while entertaining in small bursts, don't compare to the amount of fun I've had with FE Heroes. The new banners focusing on previous entries is certainly enticing, especially since we're starting off strong with an Elibe focused banner!

Re: Metroid: Samus Returns Rolls In With A SR388 Data File Trailer

BetaBugs64

@MeloMan To be fair, as someone who's played both the original Metroid II and Samus Returns, it's only really a remake at the surface level. Story-wise, yes it's the same. Gameplay-wise, however, it's a brand new metroid game through and through. New maps, new power ups, new enemies, new combat abilities - it feels much more like an "A Link Between Worlds"-esque game

Re: Dark Horse Reveals Zelda Encyclopedia as Final Instalment in Its Goddess Collection Book Series

BetaBugs64

Ah yes, the infamous Hyrule Encyclopedia, which included revelations such as the Oracle games not being put between ALttP and LA anymore, that Termina was just the Skull Kid's dream the whole time, that the Kokiri used to be Hylians who settled in the forest, that the races seen in Skyward Sword didn't evolve into the current races but instead went extinct, and that the Triforce was completely annihilated after Wind Waker, among several other oddities and inconsistencies. I'm still looking forward to the release, but those expecting definitive lore and answers may be disappointed

Re: Super Mario Run Has a Major Update and Discount on the Way

BetaBugs64

@Tsurii I don't care about the $10 price tag being expensive or not, I'm just saying that the Fire Emblem example he provided could be completed for free, and has no mandatory price, whereas Mario does has a mandatory price. It'd be like comparing buying Pokemon Gold or Silver vs downloading Pokemon Shuffle on the 3DS eShop, I don't think the comparison is fair.

Re: Super Mario Run Has a Major Update and Discount on the Way

BetaBugs64

@Caryslan I don't necessarily think that comparison makes sense. With Super Mario Run, in order to access a majority of the game, you have to spend $9.99. No other way around it. With Fire Emblem Heroes, sure you have the potential to spend a ton of money, but the entire game itself is free. Just because some people don't have self control doesn't make FE inherently more expensive, and the people that do spend all that money are most likely not the same people who are frustrated with Mario Run's price. Heck, with Fire Emblem Heroes, you get orbs just for turning the game on and completing levels, there's no need to actually buy anything if you're patient.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Gets A Helping Of New Content

BetaBugs64

I have a kind of older phone (Galaxy s3), but it runs pretty much every game I want to play on it flawlessly, except for this one. No matter what I do, it crashes right after the title screen, leaving me to hope that one day, one of these updates will fix this buggy mess so the game can properly function. (Seriously, c'mon, Nintendo! if they can get Mario Run to work just fine, and if my phone can run more complicated games like Phantom of the Kill, why can't they get this to run just fine?)

Re: Talking Point: The DLC Expansion Pass for Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Both Surprising and Inevitable

BetaBugs64

In order to access the new dungeon in Link's Awakening, you had to re buy the entire game along with a Game Boy Color.
In order to fight the true Final Boss in Oracle of Ages, you had to buy an entirely new game.
In order to access an entire sidequest in Wind Waker, you needed to buy a GBA and a Link Cable.
In order to access everything in Four Swords/FS Adventures, you needed 4 GBAs and 4 cables.
All of these examples were "locked behind a paywall," if you think about it. Difference is, BotW is a complete game from the start, unlike these examples. The DLC is extra side content being developed and is available for essentially "pre-order." The Zelda series has not been above requiring extra payments to experience absolutely all the content in a game for quite a while now.

Re: Two More 3DS Titles Are Joining the Nintendo Selects Range in North America

BetaBugs64

@Warruz A Link Between Worlds came out in November 2013, on the same day as Mario Party Island Tour (at least in NA), which is a Nintendo Select title, and Kirby Triple Deluxe came out in May 2014. Yoshi's New Island also launched in spring of 2014 now that I think about it. So, all things considered, I don't think ALBW is missing out for it's relative "newness"

Re: Unleash Your Creative Side with Disney Art Academy

BetaBugs64

Where did you see that it will include Inside Out characters? I looked at both directs, and while they included other Pixar characters from Toy Story and Monster's Inc., I didn't see any emotions in either.

EDIT: nevermind, I see that it was part of the Japanese direct.
