Nintendo has enjoyed a long-lasting relationship with fast food giant McDonald's - those of you old enough will no doubt recall the iconic Super Mario Bros. 3 Happy Meal toy range from the early '90s. More recently the two companies have collaborated on a series of fresh toy ranges, and we've just heard that North American burger lovers will be able to get their hands on a new line soon.
The toys in this range have been seen elsewhere in the world already, but it's a neat little bonus for your Happy Meal regardless.
Will you be heading to your local McDonald's to scoop up some of these pieces of plastic tat? Let us know by posting a comment below, and don't forget to check out our McDonald's Happy Meal unboxings from a while back, which we still haven't had our Pulitzer prize for. Maybe it was lost in the post?

Mmmorbidly obese!
I have a friend who works at McDonald's, so asking for a Happy Meal won't be as embarrassing
That see-through Mario wasn't released in the UK..
I gotta have em all
I Managed to collect them all (via my 3 year old daughter) other than the Luigi coming out of the yellow pipe one earlier this year when the UK Mcdonalds had them.
I'm heading to Florida in June so maybe I can pick up the last one to complete my (sorry her) collection
We never go that invincible Mario toy in the UK. Hope we get it next time.
@ReshiramZekrom : I'd be even more embarrassed if somebody I knew was privy to that information.
I just want schzewan sauce but these Mario toys will do I suppose.
I wouldn't mind that 1UP. I need a life!
Any idea exactly when?
Forgive me if it looks like Bowser is just copying Yoshi over there.
Ugh, McDonalds is such a gross brand, I hate to see Nintendo getting tied to them.
Yoshi looks like he is a plushy. Luckily I have four kids so we will be able to get this collection real easily
@RandomNerds : And then there's Starbucks striking a deal with Pokémon GO.
screen capture
@sillygostly @RandomNerds
They're both just awful!
Finally having two sons is gonna pay off!
Though seriously though, we neeed some dates here!
The Mario 3/sonic 3 happy meals of my youth were more iconic...
But the mario kart happy meal of a few years back was pretty great.
1Up !
Bowser looks like he's eating a carrot...
I hate Happy Meals and Happy Meal Toys. Both are a waste of plastic.
How is McDonalds still in business if everybody claims to hate their "food"?
This must mean Alex will be embarking on a US field trip to review them right?
@Fooligan Chemical addiction.
The official McDonalds website says they have the Smurf toys until April 24th, so I would assume that Mario would follow after that.
I am vegetarian 5 days out of the week. I might give up my grass fed ground chicken or fish for some genetically modified chicken McNuggets. I wonder what the toys are and when?
I haven't paid attention to McDonald's toys in years. I just might check these ones out.
@Fooligan I only eat their tasty chocolate donuts and drink milkshake with pear flavor.
Kids would love these, but the mrs. will tell me that McDonalds is going to destroy their bodies. I guess I will just have to pay for the toys only and then pick up a dip cone to go.
@ogo79 Looks like it put some junk in your trunk.
@Fooligan Poor college students who can't afford to eat anything better
You can just go and buy the toy, you don't need to get the Happy Meal. Might have to go and get some of these myself.
Ugh lame!! Why did they remove the Mario throne one... that's the one I've been waiting for...
No throne Mario? Shame, I was hoping to buy a couple of those and give them away as gag gifts.
@JohnBlackstar
@RandomNerds lol have you been living in a cave for the last thirty years or something?
@BAN I live in Dodongo's Cavern, so what?
That starman Mario figure looks pretty good, and they changed the smell waving Toilet Mario. Overall a better selection than most EU countries had.
But.. What is that Phallic-looking thing on Happy the Paper Box's head? How can that mascot be any more creepier than it already was.
I collected the range of Mario Kart toys they offered a few years back. They adorn a shelf of my Game Room and I love them. Might grab a few of these too.
For those unaware you can buy the toys without the meal. Just ask what toys they have, as they are usually more than happy to tell you. The price does seem to range and vary per store for no reason but I was able to grab each of the Mario Kart toys for $1 - $2.50. Most seemed to be around $1.60 each, yes the pricing is strange.
they should include a "Mario having a heart attack" toy with every one of these happy meals
@Zoda_Fett I'm praying the live action burp Mulan movie brings back the schzewan sauce burp Morty!
If you guys hate the food you can purchase these separately for $.50 per toy.
As for me, they could say that the food's DNA is not of earthly origin and I still would eat there.
@wiggleronacid wubba lubba dub dub.
You can order the toy by itself. I guarantee the employee won't give a darn why you're buying one.
Awesome!
When? We don't eat there, but I will buy something for a toy or two.
Really? Would you go to an expensive and unhealthy place just for these toys?
Like, you can find better quality stuff somewhere else i this world. Swear. I do want the bowser and Yoshi tho.....
Luigi is like: Heeeelllppp!
I still have the Super Mario 3 toys from when I was a kid. What I usually do with stuff like this is wait until the promotion is over and grab them off ebay or something. If you do it soon after you can usually grab complete sets for about what you would have paid for them at McDonald's and ebay will be inundated with them.
I can usually feel my arteries clogging just walking by a McDonald's, so I typically avoid them unless I'm on the road and it's my only option.
