Corrin Joins the Roster in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS roster has gained another sword-wielding fighter to join the family of over 50 characters.

Corrin, the main protagonist and playable character from Fire Emblem Fates, will join the fight with a handful of unique moves, weapons, and specials.

In a similar vein to Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and Robin, players will have the choice to play as either a male or female version of the character, which are visible below.

Male Version of Corrin
Female Version of Corrin

Corrin's character harnesses the power of a dragon through their blood, allowing them to perform specials utilizing transformations between dragon and human form.

The standard special, Dragon Fang Shot, paralyzes opponents and can be charged to deal huge amounts of damage. With the side special, the Dragon Lunge, enemy fights can be pinned following a jump and side attack for extra damage.

Dragon Ascent, Corrin's Up special, has a wide range and control while his Down special, Counter Surge, is similar to that of other Fire Emblem fighters.

Lastly, the Final Smash, Torrential Roar, sucks in multiple opponents with a whirl of water for massive knockouts.

While no stage comes with Corrin, two music tracks will be available alongside two trophies exclusively for the 3DS version.

Corrin will be available for purchase as a download for $4.99 / €4.99 / £4.49 for Super Smash Bros for 3DS or Wii U or $5.99 / €5.99 / £5.39 for both game versions in a bundle. The target launch date is currently February 2016.

In addition, an amiibo of Corrin will be available later in 2016 alongside the other new characters revealed today.
