@Paulo Right?? I was so excited, then I watched the video.

If this is cinema, cinema has gotten dull as dirt. There's nothing interesting here, just a glorified tech demo. Wario and Waluigi drawing on posters of Mario and Luigi was amazing back in the day. So much life and character there. This is just empty nothing.

It's important to market new Pokemon games because otherwise they'd have to stand on their own quality, and Game Freak has proven they are not interested in trying to do THAT...

Bring it on. This Hyrule Warriors was amazing, and I found myself constantly wishing BotW had the same level of quality character design and storytelling. Hands down better in every way. Take the foundation of BotW and add Hyrule Warriors level quality and cinema and you'd have a near perfect game.

Labo is great and an actual creative use of game/play time! Love it, and always will. Just wish it was a little higher quality so it would last.

Seems pretty solid except the "people have a right to be pissed" line. We don't need that hot garbage idea in our culture any more than it already is. Should turn away from crap like that.

Edit: As far as a new AC (or any new games) I am pretty content right now overall. Life is good, there is too much to play as it is, and the older I get the more I want to CREATE instead of simply "consume." So pretty okay here!

It is amazing the number of people here who think game releases and announcements actually alter stock prices. Investors and traders do not care if Zelda has been announced or not.

@BrazillianCara You have to take into account the masses in discussions like this, because THEY will determine outcomes. Not a bunch of folks prone to specific niche views discussing things in the comments section on a niche website. Our views here tend to be wildly different than the masses.

@Yel333 But the problem is even if this IS nearly the peak (I'm not convinced, but if) that will not stop the masses from lowering their standards and expectations to suit the "new normal." We have already seen this in so many artistic areas, such as architecture and writing. Quality has dropped significantly for "efficiency" and the Average Joe doesn't care. And AJ's kid (and their kids after that) will care less still.

This is what so many are not seeing. It isn't about "us" but those who will come after us. WE may reject AI usage (to some degree, at least. Let's be honest, we all use Google already) but they will think it is normal and reasonable.

Utter foolishness. Need to abandon that naivete and wake up to reality. AI is not only here to stay, it will ONLY increase. More and more consumers (especially those born today, remember they will grow up knowing no different) will lower their standards, especially as "What I want" customization becomes the norm. Why play a game designed for the masses when you could play something designed around personal prompts YOU chose? To think it is going to stop is insane. Just flat out insane.

It is reasonable to assume (that is, look at history and see) Metroid games tend to sell poorly in general, and a 4th Prime version which is generally seen as the worst in the series is likely to do poorly on top of that.

It's okay to see what is happening here.

They had something special with Reggie and should be seeking to replicate that as much as humanly possible. Reggie made a difference.

@foundlace I don't recall a dozen editorials on how Queen Reindeer is a good role model for the Modern West or whatever.

Also TotK is a SIGNIFICANTLY bigger deal than yet another 2D Indie Metroidvania, lol.

Should just change the site name to Silksong Life and be done. I don't think even the Zelda series gets this much constant coverage...

@the_beaver Blazed through it. Under 10 hours for sure, that's why I was so miffed. I thought the last boss was like the first of several big bosses, ha ha. Though it was Wii U, so maybe the Deluxe version would be different.

Edit: It probably also went faster because it was so much easier than 1 and 2. The only challenge WAS the final boss. Everything else was easy breezy.

@Ralizah I dunno, I'm pretty sure I put way longer into Pikmin 2! But then I did love that game most, so I was exploring every nook and cranny. Maybe it just felt larger, being such a huge step up from P1.

I enjoyed Pikmin 3 a ton... for the 15 minutes it lasted. What a ridiculously short game! I was so disappointed that it was just suddenly over before it felt like it really got going. For that reason I doubt I'd buy it on S2, but I'd borrow it from the library I guess.

Edit: If we got a Pikmin 4 S2 Edition, though, I'd buy it in a second. Probably a 1+2 one, too.

It is creativity bankrupt to rely on a "tool" to do your thinking for you, and that is what AI Image Generation boils down to. That means it is no longer a tool, but a replacement.

It is a foolish thing we are presently doing, relying on this stuff more and more, and spells disaster for future generations. But it also won't be stopped at this point. The ruin has been set in motion, and now it is what it is. I am myself glad my own art career was pretty much over when this stuff showed up. It's a real shame.

Honestly this is why every series should be put to rest at some point. You can't keep compelling stories (and especially villains) going forever. Either you reset each time (ala Zelda/Pokemon) or you create a compelling series and then let it BE. It is okay for things to be great and end. Not everything needs to be The Simpsons and run itself thoroughly into the dirt.

It will make them another few million dollars and they will continue to laugh at the poor saps who they consistently take advantage of. So it goes with all things Skyrim at this point of the game.

Bananza and it's not even close. Game is a masterpiece, and I can't wait to restart it and play through again.

@OldGamer999 I mean, Bananza may be one of the greatest Nintendo games ever made, and a complete upgrade across the board in terms of everything from gameplay to visuals to story to voice acting. Set a new bar.

9/10 practically for Bananza alone, ha ha. It truly feels like a real upgrade of Nintendo games in general and 3D games in particular. Masterful.

The system itself is great so far, and I can't wait for many more years with it. Good times ahead!

Bananza is a masterpiece, deserving of every award it recieves! No idea how any future 3D Mario-style game is going to live up to it, but we shall see.

The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding, but I myself don't enjoy playing it.

So 9/10 as a game, and 2/10 for me personally.

@breach187 This right here. The people saying "everyone cares!" are living in bubbles. The majority of consumers (MAJORITY, not some vocal minority) absolutely do NOT care, however that does not make it actually right practice. Well said.
