Tho not exactly related, this reminds me that during a NM show, Kit talking about 3DS Virtual Console called the restore points "save states" so.... Kit definitely plays on unofficial emulators.
Deep... sure ...well except for the Sonic series, ya get yer character in the game but only melee attacks and spindashes... A second stage is nice, but it's from Sonic Lost World and shares the same aesthetic as the first stage...
Ken, Alex, Richter, Lucina, Dark Pit, Dark Samus...Sonic got a Knuckles assist trophy for his third appearance in Smash...thanks Sakurai.
I dunno, you'd think a character that has crossover'd with Mario for years would've had more care put in. The 3DS didn't have many games for Sonic and he's still featured on the eShop's home next to Zelda and Pokémon.
I don't know how much the game stands on its own with just minigames and rental pokés, but for a subscription service it does make some sense (if only a little) to just focus on the base game.
There's always the Wii or Wii U with PBR and DS linkup if you want that spectacle element to yer pokémon battles.
No Arden Lyn, then what the heck is the point?? Certainly not gonna spend the studs for Reva. She didn't ruin the show for me but well she took the Qui Gon death, man... and survived.
I just miss the more mature vocals, Johnny Gioeli, Steve Conte, Runblebee... Bentley Jones doesn't have a manly voice but it still sounded really good and fit perfectly the few times they used him.
It's no Crush 40 but it's miles upon miles better than that kiddy Fist Bump song that somehow made it into Smash Ultimate.
Vocals of this Vandalize song sort of remind me of A Little Faster by There For Tomorrow, the theme of the 2nd liveaction Ben 10 film. Super nostalgic.
The 30 fps bullet bill should not look that janky, for reference set the video to 480p and the 60 fps bullet bill is still smooth. I guess it's exaggerated to make a point, but still odd.
@Nua That's the thing though, nobody uses that phrase thinking of Sonic X, because nobody actually cared about it when the show was popular.
Several years after the show aired people started using it for memes and it stuck hard, many people think that it's been Sonic's go-to catchphrase forever, but no merch or game ever mentions it.
Maybe I am in the wrong, maybe NL writers are huge into the US Sonic X theme, but it's still tiresome when the series' history is so extensive.
I'd like to see the alternate universe where 4Kids didn't change Sonic Drive and thus "gotta go fast" didn't happen and every Sonic article in NL has a more creative tagline.
Another Code R is well worth buying, though it's not much of a game, it's a really nice experience. To me it will always be one of the highlights of the Wii, the visuals are also incredible.
Out of region Wii games are a bit friendlier than GameCube games, if you load the disc on a Wii set for NTSC-U, the game will not switch to a PAL video mode. In other words, you don't need to patch the game in any way, you just need to surpass the title ID check of the system menu.
My preferred method is using priiloader to remove the disc region check permanently. That gets the banner showing on the disc channel and starts right away. Riivolution and others would require stopping the disc and spinning it again, so it's slower.
Eh, isn't at this point in the story Shulk more emotional towards Fiora? So, more intimacy makes sense, unless Shulk sees her as a friend only, then it is a bit out of place.
My favorite era for SEGA, they somehow would bring out these huge, content-heavy Sonic games and still deliver new titles like, SMB, Billy Hatcher, PSO, and Virtua Quest.
And I like how even during the Wii era, there were a bunch of "Dreamcast 2" sequels, like NiGHTS, Samba de Amigo, a quite different SMB, and they even came out with arcade-y style Sonic (Secret Rings), plus all those SEGA All-Stars games.
Why do people want a sequel of Mania? The best stages to rip from are already in the first one, if a sequel is developed using original levels only then you might as well call it Sonic 5.
I did the pachinko thing in about 10 tries, but the "Yoshi wait and test your patience" to then play on the poor lilypad controls, now that's the real nightmare.
I had this game around the same time as Sonic Heroes and have no problem admitting Heroes was the more enjoyable 3D action/platformer, it even does 60fps.
I don't want to offend AW fans but I still find it incredibly random that Nintendo chose this game to remaster and not something more popular like any of the GBA FEs.
This is great, as someone who got the SNES experience through hand-me-downs we pretty much only had the carts, and never had an idea of what the manuals were like.
Now if someone would still have the old websites archived for the DS/Wii era, there used to be localization interviews for "Another Code: R" on the UK Nintendo site and it's offline now. It would be really interesting to read them again.
In SA2 he's a dangerous individual who wants to destroy the world using a giant space cannon, in Shadow the Hedgehog he's a hero who gives people the ability to protect themselves from hostile aliens using said cannon.
Well, it's definitely something along those lines...
Here's my pro prediction: "We have re-started development on Prime4, here's the AdvancePack — for an additional $10 you get access to Polarium, Mario Pinball Land, (wow, it's really hard to think up underwhelming GBA games that could reach the service...) and introducing a re-translation of Mother 2 for GBA... only available for a limited time.
When WW released I was more into 2D Zelda like ALTTP and the Oracle games, seeing the new style didn't make me feel anything, I even probably thought the style better represented the deformed sprites of the 2D games.
That said, I'm glad it was not permanent just because it was eventually accepted by practically everyone.
Character re-designs can be such a dangerous gamble. When Sonic Boom was announced through a silhouette of the main characters, and you could see extra spikes, buff Knuckles, long legged Sonic, it was an absolute nightmare.
I assume they're talking from Colors onward, 'cause previous games definitely did emphasize on combat, Silver's and Shadow's gameplay in 06, the Werehog, Sonic and the Black Knight, Adventure's Knuckles gameplay involved using various attacks and combos, Heroes has a plethora of ways to fight enemies.
It's just like Iizuka saying a bunch of false info about wanting to use Frontiers to make SA3 to get people hyped and it sucks.
I was definitely the target audience for SMC back in 2004, having little to no knowledge of the Genesis games, unlocking them after a while was a good thing to prevent me from getting bored easily and trying every game too quickly.
I do know I had a SA2B save, which reduced the number of play times by 30, when it came to unlocking some of the games.
It will always seem strange to me that both Hydrocity acts are not MJ's, since those were the first tracks I was like yeah that bit is definitely a callback to Another Part of Me, but that bit has been appearing in later games too, like in SA1 and Generations. So it must be a funny coincidence, or the composer who did that track (probably Senoue) was aware of MJ's involvement and wanted to add a nod.
If you ask me the biggest loss is Icecap, not even for the Smooth Criminal bits, it's just all-around great.
@progx I'm aware, that's what the quotes implied. I'm talking about Nintendo keeping at least one type of 3DS available to buy --new--, to play carts with even if the eshop goes down permanently.
I wrote it that way 'cause I could go either way if they make the o3DS available to buy, or the 2DS, NEW variation, or a completely new model.
Handheld consoles are very personal devices, I don't want to buy used because of that, it has to be new.
It would be great if Nintendo released a "definitive" 3DS model 'cause my old console's too battered and I've found more uses for the 3DS recently, it's getting to the point where I avoid using the console to prevent it from breaking more, and that sucks.
These are the Mario games I've played enough to rank this way. With 64 and Sunshine almost tied, but 64 winning because it has less bs design despite the worse controls.
After writing this comment I guess I've played 3 NSMB titles and somehow forgot about them, so that should give you an idea.
Remember when people whined about a random name not being in the poster? Yet, another recent video game movie (Uncharted) did something similar by not crediting who is arguably the best actor among that cast and... no one said a thing.
@Serpenterror Does time really matter? When the DS game can be played on 3DS which was supported up until recently, the Wii VC version could be bought and played on Wii U also until very recent, and the Steam version is still available to buy for just $5. Game's always been available.
@Mikmoomamimocki Wii VC - February 15, 2010 NDS - March 2, 2010 Steam - January 26, 2011
I just find it funny that people say S3&K never gets re-released but Sega released it a bunch of times in such a short span of time. It might also have been on the PS3/360 stores but I don't care enough to look it up.

Re: Talking Point: What's The Highlight Of Your Game Collection?
If we're talking on a personal level, and not the value of the game itself, then surely Another Code R imported from the UK, I won it in an auction.
I guess imports usually take first place, since you definitely have to care enough to bother. Unless of course, you're a rich eccentric.
If we're talking value, probably SA2B, I got it used when the GC was already on its way out. I'm more of an SA1 guy, but it's a fun time either way.

Re: Reggie Talks About Nintendo's Slow Adoption Of Online Play
I hated bringing people over, having them wear down my controllers just to play multiplayer.
