Publisher Microids has announced that its 2D beat-em-up Scrap Riders will be making its way to Switch on September 21st.
The game, which pairs a distinct cyberpunk setting with slick hand-to-hand combat, stars Rast, a member of a group of outlaw riders known as the Scrap Riders. You'll spend your time chatting with the locals, gathering clues, and most of all, beating bad guys to a pixelated pulp.
Here's a rundown of the game from Microids:
Become Rast, a member of the outlaw bikers gang Scrap Riders, make your way through the wastelands and the big metropolis controlled by corporations. Act as a smuggler with caustic humor to survive in this post-apocalyptic world.
Fight your way through this 2D beat them up using your fists and guns, but caution: the wastelands are not for the faint of heart. There, violence is always the answer, but will not be enough! Without your wits you won't last long. Talk to the right people, gather clues, and kick bad guys asses!

Looks like a post-apocalyptic version of Brok, but it looks interesting enough!
I feel a bit guilty for criticising what’s clearly a small dev team but I’m not a fan of that art style. It just feels quite flat, as if the perspective isn’t right. I’ve never been a fan of big black outlines round sprites either, it reminds me of when you first start painting, before you learn to draw your shapes in pencil and erase them once the paint’s on.
Boy does that protagonist have poor walking posture.
'Scrap Riders' is what SEGA told Sonic Team in 2010.

@Abeedo he runs like Ben in Full Throttle! (I think he's clearly an homage to his design as well)
Haven't watched the video, but by the description, this sounds like a single player affair. . . It's that true?
If so, I may pass. I personally feel that half the fun of beat 'em ups is in co-op.
It looks like the sprites were entirely drawn in MS Paint
This looks good!
