Mediatonic has finally confirmed when Sonic the Hedgehog is returning to Fall Guys!
The blue blur is speeding back into the game on 11th August, this Thursday, where you'll be able to get a range of new costumes for your little bean, as well as explore a brand new stage.
The developer teased Sonic's return just yesterday in typical tongue-in-cheek fashion, complete with an Eminem reference.
Leaked last month, the hilariously-titled Bean Hill Zone will reward players who manage to collect many rings. If you manage to get 1000, you can don your bean in some fabulous Sonic sneakers! Here's everything you can earn from this Sonic-themed stage:
- “Bean Hill Zone” Nameplate - 200 Points
- 200 Kudos - 400 Points
- Bonus Rings Pattern Outfit - 600 Points
- 400 Kudos - 800 Points
- Sonic Sneakers - 1000 Points
Not only is Sonic's ridiculous costume returning, but we're also getting ones for Tails, Knuckles, Eggman (who looks amazing), and Super Sonic! These will all be available in the in-game store during the event, as well as Sonic's iconic foot tap as an emote. So you can taunt all your friends online mercilessly.

The event runs from 11th to 15th August, so you'll really have to go fast to get all of those costumes.
Are you looking forward to the event? Will you be jumping into Fall Guys to celebrate Sonic's return? Let us know!

This is awesome. The Eggman costume is the best one so far.
Would love the Knuckles costume, but as you have to buy it, I will do with out thanks. So the only thing you can get by unlock is his shoes? ah well screw that.
Microtransactions are evil and wrong.
I may, MAY splurge for the Tails costume. The game is decently fun and has given me some fair enjoyment so far, I won't mind spending a little.
I'd like to see the alternate universe where 4Kids didn't change Sonic Drive and thus "gotta go fast" didn't happen and every Sonic article in NL has a more creative tagline.
Remember when the sonic costume would have been an event reward?
I'm loving this game but I've yet to spend any money. I'm happy just earning the free items at the moment.
I actually managed to complete the season pass so now these events are the only reason I’ll play until the next season arrives.
I don't play Fall Guys. So I won't be getting it. However I am working on GBA Sonic game of my own so I can reproduce it and play with my GBA online. I am a fan of Sonic too but not Fall Guys.
I just wish I could get other parts of the set if I own one part. Sonic never came back, and they threw his pants and face in the random daily pool. Too bad I never got lucky enough to get his face, but I got the pants so. Sigh
Other then the the rest of the gang is something I would totally spend cash on.
@AlienX The European Version of Sonic X had a unique opening theme song too, but it's rarely remembered. Of course, all of the lyrics are "Sonic X", so it's not much for taglines.
So...they are only giving some lames shoes in the event? -_-
@Nua That opening is amazing
@Nua That's the thing though, nobody uses that phrase thinking of Sonic X, because nobody actually cared about it when the show was popular.
Several years after the show aired people started using it for memes and it stuck hard, many people think that it's been Sonic's go-to catchphrase forever, but no merch or game ever mentions it.
Maybe I am in the wrong, maybe NL writers are huge into the US Sonic X theme, but it's still tiresome when the series' history is so extensive.
@AlienX It doesn't bother me so much, but I have to agree that I've rolled my eyes at the phrase multiple times. I wonder if it became more associated with Sonic following the Sonic Rush games and Boost formula, where that emphasis on Gotta Go Fast really was pushed above all else.
