Take Kirby's Blowout Blast for example. That was an absolute delight.

We are part of the Smash Community by proxy, and by default. We play Smash, we discuss Smash, we're in.

Abuse can happen in any community. And I'm saying this while also being sorry for the victims of it. However, we shouldn't demonize the game we love just because someone playing it made a mistake (or several). Period.

I'll just stick to Deadpool, thank you very much.

Except for Nintendo themselves. Also, COVID-19 majorly f'd up any plans to meet with publishers for third-party reps, while Smash also had to limit the wait time for anyone who bought the then-completely-unknown FP2 out of good faith. There was no easy way out of this, and with the limitations in place I think Sakurai did an outstanding job.

Now, considering video calls kind of exist, more third party reps are kind of overdue.

I think the Fire Emblem franchise has received way too much shilling already. I'm all for fantasy characters in Smash, but any FE character can - and should - wait. Especially considering Ultimate is shaping up to be a one-shot deal. We can make Byleth fight Corrin in any future Smash game. We might never be able to pit Mega Man against Snake again.

So I guess Byleth is just gonna be a living advertisement for Three Houses interrupting Ultimate's gameplay for a few more months, huh.

That character's broken for the sake of shoving in everyone's faces how awesome Fire Emblem is.

While a Pokémon MOBA might be a good thing in the long run, I think I see the exact problem here - and it's the same as it's ever been with Pokémon in the latter half of the franchise's lifespan so far.

Say it with me--communication.

Talking about it as the next "big project" means hyping it up to an unrealistic degree, while at least mentioning Game Freak wasn't behind it would have set the bar for fans. That's point one.

Point two is, well... it's one game - one - while the previous presentaton had several. Hell, fans might be wondering "THIS is what got all the attention while all New Pokémon Snap got was a passing mention?" (it wasn't meant to rhyme, by the way).

Communication is key. Always has been, always will be. It's a fact The Pokémon Company needs to accept. Also, quick note for everyone: when a stream (Nintendo Direct or otherwise) starts lingering too long on something, make sure to quickly (and accordingly) rearrange your expectations. I'm not talking about game-specific presentations (such as Sakurai's for Smash), I'm talking about general Directs (for example, a game is announced and most of the Direct's runtime goes to interviews with the developer and whatnot - which is what happened with Pokémon Presents Part II).

Is it catchable during at least some of the raids or not? Official sources have been coy about it.

I can't wait for the advertising that keeps interrupting unrelated matches Byleth to be nerfed to kingdom come until he stops being an advertisement for Three Houses and actually fits the roster.

Super Mario Run, for what little it does - and for what little it asks in return - is the "next best thing" to an actual Mario game. Wasn't it for the always-online DRM, I'd recommend it to virtually everyone here.

KH spinoffs are just a sneak peek at an overarching narrative that we still have to experience in its juiciest parts on Nintendo consoles.

At this rate, I doubt we'll get the HD Remixes at all.
Square Enix wants Nintendo fans' money, but at the same time Square Enix doesn't want to give Nintendo fans actual mainline KH entries, even if they just have to port them.

The fact everything is connected is also a consolation prize for everyone among us who doesn't want their... well, consolatory spinoff to feel useless. Not to mention consolation prizes are usually more annoying than the lack thereof.

I did play Theatrhythm. I did enjoy it. Doesn't change the fact that the 3DS, backwards compatibility aside, didn't get a single Final Fantasy game that wasn't a spinoff.

"Might be fun, but it's a spinoff" is the same argument that made Metroid Prime: Federation Force dead on arrival. Come to think of it, this might well be the Federation Force of Kingdom Hearts games.

Because of course, OF COURSE Nintendo had to get spinoffs first.
