Fortnite has previously collaborated with musicians, filmmakers, Disney, Star Wars, and Thanos, so it's no surprise to see the first Avenger Captain America has now made his way to the insanely popular free-to-play battle royale game.
Yes, if you needed a reason to return to Chapter 2 - Season 3, then this might be it. Keep in mind, this is just an outfit for your existing avatar. Here's the full rundown from Epic Games:
Debuting today in the Item Shop, Cap’s Outfit includes two items: his Proto-Adamantium Pickaxe and Back Bling. Wield the shield as your Pickaxe, or display it proudly on your back.
The Cap also comes with a "Grand Salute Emote" - take a look below:
Will you be adding this costume to your wardrobe in Fortnite? Tell us in the comments.

Looks great, but fortnite cosmetics are way too much money. I regret spending a single cent on the game.
With the amount of coverage this site gives Fortnite and Brie Larson you'd think there was some bias?
Meanwhile Risk of Rain 2 received a MASSIVE update on Switch last week that pushes the game up to 60fps (previously barely held 30) along with resolution boosts and a boatload of content and the coverage here is non-existent.
Thankfully you can play as Captain America in Fortnite for $30 though.
@Coach_A To be fair everyone knows who Brie Larson and captain America are, and everyone knows what fortnite is. I can't say the same of risk of rain 2.
@Cool_Squirtle almost like a title like Risk of Rain 2 might benefit from some visibility on a site that has a large global reach 🤔
They can throw whatever IPs they want into this game. It's just not for me.
But that's cool. Everyone has their own tastes.
So is the Avengers being in Fortnite just going to be an annual thing from now on lol?
@Coach_A my point was that this article and anything about Brie Larson generates clicks and drives ad revenue up. A game that nobody knows about doesn't unless it has a click bait title.
@Coach_A The last Fortnite article was over a week ago. Not only that, but this is only the 16th Fortnite article this year. Where's the bias exactly?
Also Captain America is 20 dollars, not 30.
@Entrr_username
If your comment is serious, that's quite funny.
@Cool_Squirtle To be fair, RoR2 was massively well received on PC. Didn’t even know it was on Switch and that’s probably due to me not seeing it on this site.
@nessisonett they covered it twice. One interview with a dev and a throwaway review in its pre-release state when the physical released in late 2019.
@Coach_A That’s a shame because I’ve only heard good things about it. I really like the first one, I’ve owned it on Steam for years and played it quite a bit with my friends. I guess like others say, they need to cover the big games to pay the bills, that’s just how the world works unfortunately.
@nessisonett I just don't see why it's an either/or situation.
We get updates about every incremental Splatoon update and [BRAND] Fortnite crossover. What's the harm in a single update for smaller games? Especially when the improvements are very positive for what the Switch is capable of outputting
@Coach_A well said couldn’t agree more
@Cool_Squirtle sad but true
Nice but I just don’t have the money. 🤷🏻♂️
@Coach_A Not sure why you thought it wasn't serious since I was just pointing out how ridiculous the bias part sounded.
I do agree that RoR2's Switch update was worth talking about.
It's just more Disney IP showing up in Fortnite again, it's nothing that exciting.
I'll just stick to Deadpool, thank you very much.
@Coach_A "they covered it twice. One interview with a dev and a throwaway review in its pre-release state when the physical released in late 2019"
Twice?

And "throwaway review in a pre-release state"? We were given review code by the developer, which suggests they were happy with it being reviewed in that state. Regardless of that. we gave it 8/10, saying:
"If you're in the market for a quality 3D roguelike action title for your Switch, Risk of Rain 2 is one of the finest purchases you can make; we'd give this one a high recommendation"

I'm not sure what else you think we should have done to push the game in this case?
Given the massive, massive volume of games coming to Switch each and every week, it's logical that we can't cover absolutely everything - in fact, we're having to skip more games than ever before because we simply can't cover them all, and a lot of the smaller games don't do enough traffic to cover the cost of paying someone to review them.
Fortnite, on the other hand, has a massive audience (just like Animal Crossing does, or Zelda, or Mario) so it's perfectly logical that we'd cover that more (having said that, as @Entrr_username points out, we don't give it as much coverage as many other sites do).
We simply don't have the resource to cover every single game that comes out on Switch in-depth, but we do our part – we're practically the only western site that has given any coverage to Missile Dancer, for example, and we review a lot of eShop games that get totally ignored elsewhere.
Now we just need Thor going up against Noobmaster69 in Fortnite in real life.
@Drangor and you loved captain america in marvel vs capcom. lol just kidding
@Coach_A I'm sure it's due to a VERY obvious Fortnite bias.....and not the fact that it's a crossover event to celebrate the 4th of July. Fortnite is an online multiplayer game with updates fairly often, so getting a few articles talking about these online events is no big deal, in fact it's good for those who do care about the game. You're also acting like them making an article about Fortnite takes away any potential article about Risk of Rain 2, when that's a moronic mentality. Nintendo life publishes several articles daily, covering a wide range of games and topics based on current events and releases. One too Two articles about Fortnite is not going to ruin the chances of getting your beloved game covered.
@patbacknitro18 I've visited this site daily for about 5 years lol
You're not on the payroll, are you?
Fortnite is boring.
