It makes more sense to just make a DS from a GBA SP with only needs two extra buttons.

I'm totally in for a Sports Story shadow drop today.

I got Jedi Knight II and wasn't impressed. That game hasn't aged well and playing with the gamepad is akward at times. This is not Aspyr's, but I would have loved some kind of refining with the controls.

Given that Republic Commando already had a console release, I'm a bit more excited of having it on Switch, but not more than "catiously optimistic"

@andykara2003 The Dpad was seldom used in N64 games (I think you can use it for movement in the Goldeneye and Perfect Dark games), but that's besides the problem. If you need to change the grip of the controller to access different buttons, it's just poor design. The Gamecube Controller was better in this aspect, and the Switch Pro Controller (aside from it's Dpad accuracy problems) is even better.

@andykara2003 It was revolutionary at the time, both in concept and in looks. I think the ergonomics of the controller weren't as good as modern two-pronged designs like this one, though. Having to switch the grip for using the DPad is still akward.

About this product, where's the Atomic Purple version?

@RasandeRose I agree that wear resistance is a design variable that should be taken into account, but when you have so many early failures, then something else happened that the designers didn't/couldn't foresee.

Either that, or disastrous quality control.

@RasandeRose The specific problem with these stick is not wear and tear, it's clearly a design problem.

I've experienced drift on my left Joycon within three weeks after purchasing it brand new, and up until then I've always kept my hands clean before using it and stored the console inside a travelling case.

At this point, sports games should follow the trend of the other "Games as a Service", with incremental updates in game modes, graphics and content via season passes and the such.

At least, Ultimate Team should be treated as a separate online game, like Rockstar did with Red Dead Online.

I know, I know, as long as people keep paying full price for this games, there's no point in publishers to change the status quo, but that doesn't mean that we can't discuss which is the best way forward with annualized sports games, right?

@Jacobpower It looks more like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. If it's anything like that, it's a must buy.

@RupeeClock Were I live (Argentina) physical games cost more than twice the price of digital ones, so getting a big SD card is much more convenient than getting cartridges, even if I really like having physical games.

That's great. Now I'm more hopeful for the eShop to launch in Argentina sooner rather than later. I'm tired of having to deal with redeem codes and switching to other regions any time I want a game that isn't available in the webstore.

Joycon drift is a worse and much more widespread problem than Switch piracy, and that's entirely on Nintendo.

Maybe Nintendo should reconsider porting every Wii U game at full price. It's getting ridiculous by now.

Cloud gaming is an excellent option that complements on local hardware gaming. It's silly to think that there's a battle between the two, mainly because they both have their pros and cons, as well as their specific situations were one could be more convenient than the other.

Having more options in the way of gaming is always good for me.

If the game is designed for 60 FPS in the first place, switching to 30 FPS can be noticeable. Dead Cells and Rocket League are prime examples, they just feel weird at half the framerate.

I think that the term "tactics" RPG is more popular thanks to Final Fantasy Tactics, but I think both strategy RPGs and tactics RPGs describe the same genre: turn based combat systems, usually in an isometric grid, where not only unit stats, but also location, turn order, and cover has to be considered to achieve victory.

@Rhaoulos it refers to strategy RPG. It is somewhat interchangeable with tactics RPG.

@RushDawg it doesn't matter. Seeing the actual Clone Wars (Attack of the Clones only marked the beggining) was miles better than leaving it open to the imagination.

Even related stories like Genndy Tartarosky's miniseries, the Star Wars Republic Commando game and book series, and even the original Battlefront 2 are alone worth it.

I feels more like they are sorry they got caught and how could that impact their income than anything else.

@nessisonett I don't think anyone is criticizing Guillemot because some worker around the world was assaulted or molested. The protection of abusers runs deep within the company structure, and that's something that can only be done with the people at the top either turning a blind eye or being part of the machine.

I think that keeping the software as digital only was the smartest choice, moreso considering that this kit is aimed at kids.

Imagine buying the kart and then not being able to play with it because you lost the cartridge. It would become a $100 paperweight.

Square Enix has no excuse for not having couch multiplayer. Effing Diablo III has 4-player couch multiplayer with single joycons.

They look like a step up from the Split Pad Pro. Having proper analog sticks, rumble, gyro and wireless connectivity for $45 is really tempting.

@Shamrock If you play with cross-platform enabled, the game is very active (Steam alone has an average of 40K). Going F2P may make it even bigger.

I remember playing this one on my dad's PC when I was little. My childhood gaming memories come from Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, TIE Fighter, Monkey Island, Stunts, Day of the Tentacle, among many others.

Digital has been a blessing in developing countries, where physical editions are either non existant or extremely overpriced.

Animations look a little stiff. Seeing the Headless fight here it's like locking Dead Cells at 30FPS.

@Kalmaro You are being really specific on what you consider a quality issues in a console. You are omitting a lot of issues in Nintendo products because "they don't keep the console from running", but their are quality issues nonetheless.

I think the quote was meant to be taken as hyperbolic, and does not measure how commited nintendo is to quality, but to brand recognition. Nintendo is a very jealous company, and on par with its competitors regarding quality.
