Re: Switch eShop Update Puts Less Focus On The Terrible 'eSlop'

tanasten

They need to kill the re-releases slots. Companies like Red Deer Games have more than 850 games on the store! With most of them being re-releases. They should stop accepting whatever editions, and that would clean up the store a lot. Or simply DO NOT ACCEPT RE-RELEASES.

Another feature I need as a user, allow me to block and report companies. I want to rip off the eShop from a few companies.

Red Deer Games, 14Dimension, Qubicgames, BaltoroGames, Error300 Games, Trelf SA, Pakotime... just to name a few. I NEED the option to hide those from the eshop!

Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

tanasten

the most important benefit of Switch over the other consoles is the chance to just get the cart and quickly play the game.

I barely play on the PS5 because each time I want to play a game, I need to take off a game, and reinstall by an hour or so the game again.

On that time, I've already finished my playtime on the Switch and I forgot about playing on the PS5.

Big games and need to install is a plain fail for the joy of the game industry. Switch has been cool just for that.

Re: Hands On: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition - A Decade On, Mira's Still Got It

tanasten

This game world is the best I've ever played, and the real story lies in the evolution of New LA.

Exploring the game world avoiding one hit enemies, it's simply awesome.

I would have wished for a change in the battle system, to a more easy to access system, more action... I think the day they change the battle system, Xenoblade games, they will sell like hotcakes.

X It's a wonderfull game, a true gem that still resembles on my interior. I'm crossing fingers for a real 30fps solid gameplay, because that's what I,m not seeing in videos.

Re: Video: Let's Compare Xenoblade Chronicles X On Wii U And Switch

tanasten

On all the videos I'm seeing serious framerate issues. I've been waiting for returning into Mira for years, but these framerate issues feel criminal to me. As said, it was rock solid 30 fps with one of the best implementations of motion blur on camera ever.

I'll get this one if it does have improvements on the Switch 2. I don't want a poor framerate experience to hit the memories of my favorite WiiU game.

Re: Upcoming Action RPG 'Reynatis' Bags A Free Switch Demo

tanasten

@Quarth Played the demo. Plays pretty well but doesn't hold the 30 fps. Controls feels a bit sluggish but I don't think it's because of performance, more related to the gameplay design and the animations.

It's something that I feel on many games that puts the character flying when hitting enemies.

Re: Review: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (Switch) - The Best Version, But Lacks Extras To Make It Essential

tanasten

Finished the game with my 4 years old boy. He enjoyed much more LM3 than 2 due to the mission restrictions. He wanted to wander the mansions freely all the time, which is sadly very locking.

When I left him to play the original LM on Gamecube we had the same issue, as the first stages are mission driven on the original game too.

On my own, the mission lock is very deceiving too. It would have been awesome to explore the mansions in an open world formula. I think that in terms of content LM2 is excellent. I own and played the 3ds version, but never felt confortable playing it, but I miss a lot the 3D.

I can't understand why Nintendo is not bringing Labo VR support to this game, it would have been great for many moments.

Re: Random: People Actually Love The Talking Flowers In Super Mario Bros. Wonder

tanasten

A complete success on my side. I'm only missing a full dub there so mu children doesn't need his father to read all the story lines.

Nintendo needs to realise that many children they play their games, needs VO to follow the story

Sony does much better with the topic, they're years in ago in that sense with full VO and dub to several languages.

Re: Epic Games Is Reportedly Laying Off Nearly 900 Employees

tanasten

@NintendoJunkie I can understand your feelings there. Being at the same point on my professional carrer after 19 years making games.

Always wanted to do games, not sure anymore at this point since I got two children I want to take time with.

Edit: Even that it's sad, Epic grew and aimed too much and this is the consecuence. Hope they'll focus again on what they're great, more on games and game tech.

Best wishes for all the affected families.

Re: Memory Pak: Secret Of Mana's Dazzling World Of Colour Opened My Eyes

tanasten

I can't but lament that the 3D remake done on PS4 never hitted on Switch. They should redo this again by keeping multiplayer and so on.

There were some stuff on the gameplay that aged bad (clearly, the hold on weapon atacks taking ages), but everything else is still top noch, from visuals and sound, the game is a Masterpiece.

It's interesting how the gameplay it's still unique and makes it special and interesting for multiplayer gaming. We need more Secret of Mana games.

Re: Site News: Nintendo Life Partners With Family Gaming, Brings Accessibility Info To Reviews And Game Pages

tanasten

Much needed. There's a lot of maturity that needs to happen into the media of gaming. This is one little step.

Next: not making review only based on personal opinion such as if the game is easy, etc.

It's still funny to think about the reviews and the notes generally given to Nintendogs and Braining back in time (or other casual titles) and being massive success.

Re: Soapbox: It's Time To Admit That F-Zero X Is The Best F-Zero

tanasten

In terms of Gameplay I still think the original F-Zero was the most interesting one.

F-Zero X was cool and a blast to play, but technical gameplay in F-Zero is just better IMO.

F-Zero GX was a bit bland on the gameplay experience compared to those two, but it was clearly incredible in terms of content and quality put in.

I never bothered too much for the GBA ones, for whatever reason, they didn't feel as smooth as Super NES one.

Re: Talking Point: How Does Switch's Year 7 Compare To Previous Nintendo Consoles?

tanasten

I'm OK with the Switch, I just want to have controllers that doesn't suffer issues. All of my 6 JoyCons have drift or other issues. Disconnecting in handheld, an R not working at all, bad connectivity from the couch... I had to move on into Pro Controllers... loosing the coolness of free hands play.

I'm fine to get a better performing Switch 2, that's true, but my biggest need in clear are polished and solid JoyCons.

Note: And a better eshop, not filled by RedDeer games re-releases. How Nintendo allows this? By God's sake...

Re: Takaya Imamura: F-Zero Hasn't Been Revived Because Mario Kart Is Nintendo's "Most Popular Racing Game"

tanasten

I think the same than Nintendo. Mario Kart does as much as F-Zero. I don't feel like it's necesary.

But on the other hand, Mario Kart 8 F-Zero tracks (and soundtracks xd) made me to want to play a new F-Zero.

I think they should revive F-Zero with the 64DD expansion idea, with new gen technology. And apply more physics based gameplay with crafting parts Breath of the Wild style. But this could fit Stunt Race FX too I guess xD

Re: Soapbox: Fortnite On Switch Is Five Years Old, And I Have No Idea What It Is Anymore

tanasten

As a player and as a developer, I must say Fornite keeps being a wonderful game. I loved to play the game because for me it was not only a fun battle royale game, but it was an adventure game too.

However, I feel like there is too much stuff going in now and with all the few time that I have to play games (father of two boys now), it's simply too complex to go back to it.

With less time, I ended focusing on more chilling and individual games, like Kirby and the forgotten land and Zelda ToK.

For me, Fornite created the same kind of entry wall that force me to stop playing Guild Wars 2, too much stuff going on fo a non 1000% dedicated player.

Re: Japanese Charts: Minecraft Legends Comes Out On Top After A Quiet Week

tanasten

The Switch maket is such a solid and steady market, yet bringing big numbers everywhere in the planet. I could foresee this console playing an important role in the industry for a couple of years still, unless Nintendo has some magic with the Switch 2 and makes an easy transition.

It seems like the challenge of moving from the Switch is going to be a big deal for the whole industry.

Re: Nintendo Will Repair Out-Of-Warranty Joy-Con For Free In The UK, EEA, Switzerland

tanasten

I've 8 pairs. All of them have issues. R/L are not working properly, disconections when playing in portable, they don't even stick to the console!

Drifting happens in all of them from time to time. I had to move with a Controller Pro which is working flawlessly, but I barely can't play properly on portable. The Switch is a cool concept, but a ***** of a hardware

Re: Best Of 2022: Yes, You Really Should Do All Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Sidequests

tanasten

@SunDownSamurai I agree it's somekind of signature, but I still think that XC1 battle system was the best one, thanks to the premonition stuff that was lost in future games. Torna had a really fun linking system, but all the others are messy hell too me. XCX and XC3 are the worst ones because of the class system in my opinion. You can find some fun in it but strategy and timming is drown compared to XC1, at least in my opinion.

XCX long/short range mix was awesome, and I miss it a lot thought.XC3 bringing the water battles finally is an awesome step forward.

But again, anyone can play FFVII remake and enjoy the game, not happening with the Xenoblade series. That's something they need to fix up to grow the series.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Gets An Eight-Minute Overview Trailer

tanasten

Every Xenoblade system gets more and more complex. I think that whats drives the series to be a broad-open to everyone series is the complexity of these systems. Simpler would be better.

I'll be day 1 of course, as I love the series, but even a fan like me have always a hard time to understand all the mechanics and so!

Re: Feature: Kid Icarus: Uprising, Nintendo's Most Daring Release Of The Last Decade

tanasten

Sold less that it should due to the wackiness of the control scheme. It was harsh to start dealing with it, but when you got used to it it was a total awesome gameplay experience!

Another Star Fox Zero syndrome victim sadly, in which reviewers and many people simply didn't gave it the chance because if was out of the common stuff.

Game was awesome and one of my favorites. I would be double dipping on Switch if they do release it.
