Re: Doug Bowser (Kind Of) Addresses Complaints About Switch Online's Nintendo 64 Emulation

tanasten

I just can't say any other thing that value on the Subcrisption service is not there. As a Nintendo Fan, I had most of these games on the original system or in the Wii/WiiU. The only value there is the online... but with no matchmaking and rankings is useless to me, as I can't take the time nowadays to meet my friends there.

The only thing that adds a bit of valor is the family sharing stuff that allows me to share with my family members that owns another switch, the online games... but again, not fully satisfied because I can't play with them at the same time :/ It worse is, that it doesn't apply to the physical games.

Stuff like Tetris 99, Mario 99 or Pacman 99 is cool and I really apreciate the value there, it's the only thing.

So in short, I'll never pay for the expansion pack stuff for the online, because it simply doesn't feed what I expect. For that Price, I would rather have every month a couple of new games free like the PS plus does (been subscribed at that service for 10 years now??)

Re: Feature: Metroid Dread Has Plenty Of Other M's DNA, And That's No Bad Thing

tanasten

Other M is another case such as Star Fox Zero. They forced wonky controls that on paper are sometimes cool ideas for a match, but in the end frustates the player.

A port to Switch or any future console for these two, fixing the controls like they did in Skyward is just... a must for justice.

The only game that should not lose their unique features is Xenoblade Chronicles X. That game really suceeded in his uniqueness, tought I could drop the Miiverse mesages link, because of stupid user ussage xd

Re: Hardware Review: Can You Really "Make Your Own Switch Pro" With This $100 Dongle?

tanasten

I did purchased a 65" LG to acomodate with the distance I'm playing games normally (and the terrible tiny texts of nowadays).

The most wow thing I saw on the tv it's thr smoothing/blur process the tv has, that makes 30 fps games to move as smooth as 60 fps

Really makes games like Xenoblade o Breath of the Wild to stand out and makes me no see difference when I'm playing PS5 games

It's really a thing that brings a lot in terms of retro sofware improvements.

Re: How Much Faster Is Super Mario 3D World On Switch Compared To The Wii U Original? This Much

tanasten

@gcunit Totally agree. I think this game should have an speed selection option. This game and the 99% of the games out there of course.

Speed is one of the biggest barriers non gamers faces when trying a game.

I remember back the days of Street Fighter II Turbo or even Starcraft, allowing people to choice the game speed.

I miss that in all Nintendo games. And I think that it's one of the key features from Mario Kart 50cc.

Re: Random: Disgruntled Fans Spam Nintendo Tweet In Response To YouTube Soundtrack Takedowns

tanasten

This youtuber was doing monetization of Nintendo music. I think that's why they took him out.

I stopped seeing his videos because they were filled with promp videos. I love having Nintendo music spreed all over the internet... but I don't feel happy when I see those videos filled with publicity. This kills the mod and they don't own any right to do money with the works of othera.

Re: PSA: Remember To Update Your Joy-Con, As Well As Your Nintendo Switch

tanasten

@seph_patrick This is because contact at the botton of the slide side is failing. It started to happen to me last 2 weeks and fixed it by putting some slight pressure on it to the interior to ensure that contact doesn't get lost during gameplay.

Worked for me up to now, but be careful not to put too much pressure and break it!

Re: Mini Review: Slayin 2 - An Engaging Action RPG Romp

tanasten

Slaying was a clone of Cicle Entertainment's Drancia Saga to a follow up with a lot more personality. I'm enjoying Slaying 2 so far the half an hour I played.

They're using in an smart way the Drancia Saga formula and adding more deep into the story by putting some Zelda II elements.

I think the developer has been smart by going forward with the Drancia Saga gameplay by adding the technics, but I don't think the 2 layers are great.

In any case, a great addition to the library. I really don't undertstand why Circle is not bringing a second game to Drancia Saga.

Re: New Checkout Bot Targeting Online Switch Stock Is Driving The Scalpers Market In North America

tanasten

@TowaHerschel7 I can understand and accept the example you propose. I even accept that scalpers do their bussiness with out of stock games (Like launch games) not being reprinted.

What I cannot accept is people getting the systems ready to purchase any copy of a Collector's Edition leaving no chance to normal people, who passes the day working for the rest of the community and they have no chance to buy something they like.

I've a friend who is a Nurse saving lives, and these days he is risking his life and the family fighthing the coronavirus. Last time I talked to him he was completely devastated and depresed, and then we had a chance to talk about Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Collector's pack.

He is working 12 hours a day, unable to be all the day pending to get this collector's edition, which he would love to have.

Meanwhile, there are scalpers out there, using automated tools to purchase everything and reselling every copy they may get. These resellers even doesn't bring money to the state (I'm talking about Spain here) while they enjoy the benefits of our society.

For me these are the worse, they are just dedicating their lives to mess other people and benefiting from their work in all ways.

Call me Stallin, but they're cancer and should be punished.

Re: Review: Panzer Dragoon: Remake - Doesn’t Quite Nail The Landing

tanasten

The original game was great by the artistic direction, it was nowwhere close to The masteful design of Starwing, but was fun and beautiful and interesting because of the art.

Also, it came in the start of the Saturn so it was one of my most played game.

I got this remake and I'm liking it even that looks like a semi remaster. What's worse is that gameplay wise, olded prety badly. Dragon movement is unprecise and aiming works bad. I have the Saturn original at home and played it not long ago, and it feels a bit more unprecise this remake than the original. Also, level design have some unfair actions that could have been fixed easily and makes no sense.

What's great of this remake is the beautiful reconstruction of the world. Really helps understanding the imaginative setting that made Panzer Dragoon special. And that's why I like this remaster.

Hopefully they fix the gameplay adding motion control, the game really needs it and on the Switch its mandatory. I could understand that on other platforms were missing because no one uses it and they stuck in the past with dual analog, but not on the Switch.

Re: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega39’s Announced For Switch In Japan

tanasten

Hope they go to alternate gameplay routes like they did for 3ds version. I never enjoy the classic gameplay even that I try it, however the touch screen mode on 3ds to me much better, less complex and more enjoyable.

Another alternative would be a motion controls mode. Been dreaming about a Project Diva with motion controls for years.

Day one of this is the chance

Re: Super Mario Odyssey And Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Getting Labo VR Support

tanasten

I think that what makes sense of this Labo VR is that it's not designed for long sessions and more for quick plays.

The only game I've been really enjoying on the PSVR is Beat Saber. Even Astro Bot takes too much time for me. So I think that Labo it's going to be a nice VR demo experience, that comes cheap in a moment where VR is not mainstream, but more of something people is curious about.

It's a great timing IMO.

Re: Stella Glow

tanasten

This became one of my favourites on the 3ds an on the tactics rpg genre. A 10/10 game IMO. Delighful narrative, beautiful art and music, accessible strategy system that clones Tactics Ogre (another one xd) and adds layers in its own, wonderfully balanced.

I'm absolutely in love with Stella Glow.

Re: Rumour: Dataminer Uncovers SNES Games For Nintendo Switch Online Service

tanasten

Each time I start the Wii on the WiiU and I go to the Wii Store, I wanna kill everyone at Nintendo. This was available and ready to be enjoyed by anyone. I was only 100 misserable points to get Wonderboy 4. I then it's there but I cannot get those 100 points to get Wonderboy 4.

It's terrible!

Nintendo should have just pushed out VC on Switch y bringing the whole Wii emulation on it.

Re: Rumour: Dataminer Uncovers SNES Games For Nintendo Switch Online Service

tanasten

I'm still terribly offended by Nintendo on the service and I don't see myself paying for it this gen.

I can understand that not having retail games free with the price of the service, but having too pay more because I'm sharing the console with the family is terrible (doesn't happen with PS+), and require online connection for NES games when it's a portable device... this is just wrong.

Also, they should release more NES games at once. Their current release numbers are ridiculous.

Oh, and as a side note, having not online is just killing my interest on some Nintendo games that I didn't bought. Not Playing Arms & Splatoon2 that I own, not interested anymore on buying Mario Kart, Mario Tennis or Smash Bros.

I'm using the Switch to play thousand of Indie games, and I'm happy with it, but I'm sure that for Nintendo having people losing interest in their games is not a good idea.

I don't know if more people does like me, but I'm interested to know.

Re: Japanese Charts: Smash Ultimate Crosses The 2.5 Million Mark, Early Mario & Luigi 3DS Sales Disappoint

tanasten

I'm still buying games for 3ds from time to time. But to be honest, none of the retail price games. I do hardly buy these on the switch or ps4 neither.

10-20€ has become my top price, while my purchase range normally goes up to 10€.

We are in a great era for gamers. Meanwhile the industry can keep up with these different range of prices, gamers will be able to taste and enjoy so much!

Re: Feature: Inside The Twisted And Abusive Culture Of Yasha Haddaji's Nintendo Russia

tanasten

I'm not on track with all the social media justice warriors and the totalitarism ideas behind these "enforce the world to do our idealism" by pushing on media.

What we should really ask is for an investigation from governement or Nintendo and take take action after a good judgement.

It really pisses my off how people acts twitting demands for a social reaction deciding the fate of someone being in a different country, with different laws and no clues about if what the demand is legit or not.

I normally pass on all this Social Justice bedazzle dazzle sazzle because I simply focus on my life and I don't listen to weird totalitarist ideas sometimes I read.

But seeing the reaction here, a Nintendo gaming community that should be caring about games and fun, really scaries me. We all should be asking for a decent judgement not asking to put on fire someone on first impressions. That is just so Medieval Era...

Re: Switch Sales Rise In Japan This Week Despite Lack Of New Major Releases

tanasten

One question I do myself, do we have an rate of total digital sales?

With the Switch, I decided by the first time to go fully digital because it simply doesn't make sense anymore to keep holding lots of carts on the bag, and makes sense to just have them in the SD card.

My question is, how many people is moving to Digital with the Switch? I'm sure we are a lot of people who stopped buying physical on the Switch.

Re: id Software Evaluating If Rage 2 Would Be Possible On Switch

tanasten

@gcunit "We stream everything"

By streaming they're talking about a type of continuous loading applied to game development. Instead of loading one big map with all the content of the map in the ram memory, they do load on memory eveything that it needed at the moment of the gameplay (only what is happening on screen and anything from Ai that needs to be in memory, the rest will be loaded when needed).

This technology is getting common in all open world games and those which have big scenarios.

An example easy to see of how this works is Xenoblade Chronicles 2. When you do a teleport to Gormoth's town at the Windmill Plaza, you'll see how first the objects appear with no textures, later they load textures low resolution textures, and finally they load high resolution textures. Check it out.

Re: Reaction: What are Your Thoughts on Nintendo Switch Online?

tanasten

Not paying when we don't even have Miiverse anymore. Why to pay for a service that they will kill in 4 years again? Why paying for a crappy online service with crappy friends management?

I just think that it's not for me. I don't trust this much Nintendo anymore. Still loving their games and buying a lot thought, but as service company... not again.
