@Rhaoulos the wii, wii u and 3ds had experiences other than games to offer. it was a nice way to spend time while waiting to get a new game for those who didnt have much money to get new ones

@ButterySmooth30FPS the difference between them is that legend of Zelda has a much more hard core fanbase. Mario Karts known for being significantly more casual. and casual players are much less likely to scarf up 70 bucks let alone 80.

i was super excited for this until i realised it wasnt getting a physical release (it's getting a physical pre order release by limited run but ewe) i'm still happy about it and i want to get it but not being able to get it physically's a total bummer.

@StewdaMegaManNerd yeah. like i said it makes sense, it's clear, but theres nothing inspiring about it. the N64 was clear about what it was, a console with 64 bit graphics. but it was unique. there was just something about it. the gamecube was essentially just a vastly more powerful N64. but it had a FUN name. also the thing was a dang cube; but thats besides the point

the game boy advance was just a more powerful game boy, but the name was imaginative. it wasn't just "the next game boy" it was the ADVANCED gameboy.

the Wii had to be the best named console ever (in my opinion) it was wacky, fun, and it showed its goal to bring people together. it was memorable.

switch 2 is forgettable. it sounds phoned in. Nintendos shown in their past that they can name console sequels well, but they didn't. i guess they're still scared by the wii u.

as excited as i am for the system, i have to agree with everyone. this has to be the worst named Nintendo console ever. its clearer than Wii U but switch 2's just. so. LAME.

@StewdaMegaManNerd lets hope. I'm in Georgia so the only hope i have is that they'll open a Nintendo store in Atlanta. as if.

I'M so excited for this! I'm actually kinda glad its releasing next year. I just started trying to get the first 3 (western) rhythm haven games recently and this'll give me time to play them all. this announcement happened IMMEDIETLY after i started getting into the series. so I'm pretty stoked

@OorWullie hard disagree. Tomadachi life is fantastic. i literally jumped up and screamed while watching with my brother and sister. there have surely been worse direct conclusions. especially during the wii U.

@AmplifyMJ they're probably preparing some new system for the switch 2. ensuring that if you want to save on games you'll have to buy the new system.

i wish could make a visit. unfortunately, living in the south east means missing out on most big events. "east coast" usually just means new York

@Purgatorium it's important to point out that this is a Japanese chart. monster hunter is THE action RPG in japan. where monster hunter is, there sales will be.

monster hunter is just a lot less culturally relevant here in the west.

@Razzy I mean, they delivered for about 3 years on the 3 pillars. if they do something similar for the switch i'll be happy. it'll probably be like the 3DS/switch overlap from 2017 to 2019. switch will still be getting releases just less notable one's like remakes, re-releases, indie's, and yearly titles. heck if its anything like the 3DS we could still be getting some landmark titles in the coming years

@MSaturn heck yeah! i unfortunately have yet to get very far, but it looks and plays incredible. i've played both shadow dancer and revenge too. shadow dancers my favorite so far but 3's certainly going to take that spot

@NFrealinkling the the first shinobi arcade game is on the switch Eshop along with revenge of shinobi and shinobi 3 on NSO online genesis or the sega genesis collection (the collection has input lag though)

@MSaturn agreed. I love that they're bringing back the IP but it looks more like a hack n slash combo focussed game than the classic action platformer's of the 90's. I'll wait with cautious optimism. And play Shinobi 3.

Lotta new games that I haven't seen before. a ton look spectacular too. usually eshop sales will have a few gems covered in a bunch of crap.

and I might finally be able to get Katamari Damacy! that's worth the entire sale in and of it's self

I love the Macross series! too bad the game looks like a so-so schmup. Under defeats gotta be the highlight of the week for me though. that and civ VII

This is just what I didn't know I needed! I didn't even know animal well was a metroidvania. the only disagreement I have is deadcells. is it really a part of the genre? its a Rougelike so there really cant be that much lengthy progression; it all resets After death.
